Idaho student killings: Victim's father claims article is a lie

Posted at 12:06 PM, October 11, 2023

MOSCOW, Idaho (Court TV) – The father of one of the victims killed in the Idaho Student Killings has demanded accountability after an online news outlet published what the Goncalves family has called a “fictional story,” written in “poor taste.”

[...]
‘As it is common in these situations, people try to make money off of the dead. It’s a free world and people can write and say pretty much anything they want these days. Most of the time my family and I just ignore the chatter and the noise, but lines have to be drawn somewhere. I was recently sent an article on “Airmail” by Howard Blum describing Kaylee, apparently quoting me, and completely making up a fictional story about FBI letters, etc…Mr. Blum recently has used the murders to get back into the spotlight, appearing on an NBC show, as well as a “book” he is writing. He has reached out through our attorney several times to speak to us, but we have declined. I just want to make it very clear to the public that we have not spoken to Mr. Blum about the death of our daughter.”

#BryanKohberger County jail; vegan meals, personal TV; nice size private cell; where people who committed the most minor of criminal infractions are held and those who have Not been convicted.

RA This is how he is escorted and dressed for court

BK This is how he is escorted, groomed and outfitted for court

RA Shackles and cuffs BK None RA Eating his paperwork

BK Smiling

Do I think BK should be treated like RA- No, not unless he is convicted.

RA should be treated like BK pre-conviction. And now, no attorneys. RA's attorneys should have been severely sanctioned for the photo leak, but not forced to withdraw in my view, based on what we know, because of the impact it has on RA's defense and what that means when it comes to achieving justice for Abby and Libby.

'Devastated': Bryan Kohbergers’s Aunt Breaks Silence on Idaho Student Murders

10.18.2023

Bryan Kohberger’s alleged aunt is breaking her silence on the Idaho student murders case and the allegations against her nephew. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, reportedly said there’s a “lot of drama” in her “devastated” family. The Law&Crime Network’s Elizabeth Millner breaks it down.

Video is eight minutes.

The "aunt"... --- “I dont have an answer for why he was depressed, I guarantee he had a wonderful childhood.”

“Michael [his dad] is a wonderful man, he was a janitor and his wife is a beautiful woman, she’s a teacher and they worked at the same school.”

She (the "aunt") was questioned on how she feels he will cope if he gets life behind bars and shook her head and replied I think he may try to kill himself.

1/3 I’m in Moscow, Idaho for the Bryan Kohberger hearings tomorrow. Both have to do with the defense challenging the grand jury indictment. The morning hearing is closed to the public/media, but the afternoon hearing is open.

2/3 Kohberger’s defense says there was an error in the instructions given to the grand jury. Also – they claim there was grand jury bias and improper/lack of sufficient evidence to indict.

3/3 The grand jury bias claim is interesting. Because grand jury proceedings are secret, I suspect anything related to bias and specific jurors will be discussed at the closed hearing in the morning.

For today's #BryanKohberger hearings, here's a primer I wrote back in September (before they were postponed due to illness) that explains the arguments posed by the defense.

Back in #Moscow for Thursday’s #Idaho4 pretrial hearing for #BryanKohberger. His attorneys will make arguments to toss the grand jury indictment – most of which will be done behind closed doors in the morning. I’ll be covering the public afternoon session.
