Ethan Chapin’s mother, Sarah Chapin, told the news outlet that a friend discovered the bodies inside the home on King Road and called 911.

I thought the 911 caller only saw one victim and the police discovered the rest on arrival, but the plurality in "bodies" is making me question that. I guess even if they only saw one, they technically discovered all of them if that makes any sense? It may be irrelevant but what do you guys think?

Is it possible one of the roommates was the unconscious person?

Answering my own question--- likely not as there doesn't seem to have been an ambulance. Hmm.

Wonder if a news agency will file a PIR for the 911 call. It seems that is key and I would like to know if dispatch messed it up, or was called in that way. That is a big disconnect.

Didn't we have a report in the news that it was a friend that called 911, not a roommate? So, if true not even the roommates called? Someone help clear that up for me. I am confused.

Wish I could clear that up. If it was one of the other two roommates, don't know why they would say an unconscious person when there are four people dead/being killed.
Ok, so I found what I was looking for and included the quote. Unfortunately, it doesn't clear it up 100% for me.

Ethan's mom is quoted in the NY POST article as saying Ethan's FRIEND found the bodies. So, technically "friend" could be a roommate. And I guess if Ethan was not a roommate, she wouldn't say roommate she would say, friend.

Edited to CORRECT--
This link contains a quote by Ethan's mom. She said a friend WHO DOES NOT LIVE IN THE HOME is the one who discovered the victims.

I looked at the Zillow listing and based off the comments on here about the bodies being on the third and second floor (the male) were the two surviving roommates more than likely in the two basement (first floor) bedrooms? I’m not good at Zillow pictures and home layouts but the first floor looked to have two rooms.

Maybe the attacker did enter through the sliding glass door in the kitchen (on the second floor) and moved up; Danny Rolling entered through sliding glass doors and murdered all his victims with a ka-bar - that’s a fact and it gives me the creeps.
That sliding door gave me the creeps.

The home has six bedrooms, a Zillow link was posted earlier in the thread. Do we know if there is a basement where 2 bedrooms might have been located? That would explain why they might not have heard the commotion.

Perhaps one of them woke up around noon (not unusual) and walked upstairs and was Eric laying there covered in blood. I could understand the mass confusion and hysteria. I'm sure it was traumatizing.

MOO

I'm really curious why the identity of the 911 caller is being kept from the public.
That seems odd to me.
Unless they're a possible suspect?

Or they're protecting a witness. If the 911 caller was one of the two roommates, they shouldn't release it until they at least have a suspect.

Thanks! From what I've read the house was right near his frat house? He may have gone back and forth since his girlfriend lived in the murder house.

IMO, I think this is true of the victim wearing the black coat who does appear to be stumbling around (walking in/out of frame). I don't see these visible signs of inebriation by her friend ordering and paying for the food and think she was most likely looking out for her sorority sister. JMO
she stumbled over her words and slurred while ordering. we dont know whether they were intoxicated or not but they both appeared to have been drinking to me.

This is exactly my thought. The two roommates weren't killed because they were on a different floor and the killer possibly didn't know they were there.

MOOs:
I was very surprised to hear that the roommates were home but uninjured and not part of a hostage situation. It was EC's mother who stated that the 911 call was placed by a friend who did not live at the home (LINK). It was also stated that the crime scene was particularly gruesome on the "upper levels" of the residence (LINK). If there were two bedrooms on each floor (LINK) and we know that EC was found on the second level (LINK), were the unharmed roommates on the ground floor and just assumed that the roommates were sleeping in after a late night? Maybe this other "friend" was supposed to meet someone, came over to their house when they didn't answer their phones, and happened to be the first person up the stairs. Could the culprit have entered and/or left via the second-floor balcony, leaving the first-floor roommates none the wiser?

They are saying it's a targeted attack because there were other housemates in the house who were not attacked. Chief of police just confirmed this. They were not held hostage, presumably they were asleep until midday and called in the murder when they woke up and discovered it. They must be the women in blankets who were crying outside.
Did they say that the reason they believe it was a targeted attack was because the 2 other housemates were not attacked? I'll have to watch it back but I thought "why do you believe it was a targeted attack" and "was anyone else home" were separate questions

It would be a very unusual offender who lived in the house and stayed another 8 hours to be around for LE’s discovery of the bodies. That theory doesn’t pass Occam’s Razor to me. The college kids who slept till noon theory might. The idea that they may have been locked into a room or a section of the house, without their phones, might. But I believe other theories hold more water.

I’m hopeful the FBI is asking Insta and TikTok for IP hits to all of their pages and then corresponding the data back to networks and owners. I’m looking for a frequent visitor to the pages, someone who was revisiting the same pictures and clips over an extended period of time. Stalker profile.

Combat knife, looking at all veterans within 20 miles, first up the dishonorably discharged.

I’m also getting security cameras installed in my home across the country from Idaho. We’re in the age of big data, these systems work well and are cheap, it’s time for me to be my family and neighbors’ keeper and have footage to hand to LE if something happens within sight of my home. Look what a difference it made with Moriah Wilson’s case, among many other examples. What a difference it (hopefully will, if any film exists) could make here.

Wasn't it Ethan's mother who was quoted as a friend who called 911? Ethan didn't live in the house (correct?) so the mother may have been referring to the person who called 911 as a friend, not his roommate. jmo.

So they believe the victims were targeted. 2 of them were at a party and 2 of them were at a bar so the “reason” for the murders did not happen that night since they were not all together. The murderer was angry about something that happened previously. IF they were targeted.
