Question: Has there been an estimated time of death for each of the victims?
The coroner said after 3 AM based on last phone calls but did not give individual victim times which would take longer to determine.
They aren’t going to release that though, for investigative reasons, only LE and the killer knows that.

King Road Homicides

Why has no forensic information been released?
Forensic evidence was collected from the crime scene and is currently being processed. The test results will be used by detectives to assist in the investigation. As this is a criminal matter, much of the evidence will not be released to the public.

What we know so far about the investigation into the Idaho college student murders

My point, by definition, this killer is deranged. However, in this case we have a very UNIQUE deranged individual ...one that the victims would be extremely unlikely to meet under any conditions. ERGO>>> The victims were proactively *selected* by the killer.

Why would you say the victims would be extremely unlikely to meet him under any conditions?

It's been a thing for a while apparently.

We'll find out one day, I've never heard of them out here, thanks for the info.

I had also suspected jersey guy to be dealing drugs myself
The interaction between the girls and the two men around 9:05 where one touch one’s jersey chest and the other quickly follows after them made me go hm. Then the interaction with Maddie- the hug and the other guys reaction after it where he steps away and seems exasperated. Had not even noticed any of it because of tunnel vision just focusing on the girl’s lack of interaction with hoodie guy (who is not a suspect.) Interesting if nothing else.

Thanks for post @WildWest. From 1 star reviews in
Amazon reviews for the low priced items in your post. FWIW.

"Seemed great at first, but broke after 4 days use. My son was throwing in a grassy field, soft ground at a tree stump."
"...the METAL handle broke after about 20 throws in total. We're in our sixties and not huge or outrageously strong. Our target is all wood and stands over soft ground..."
"...for the boys. Finally got the target built, poplar rounds about 2" thick. Within 5 minutes they started breaking. Guess how many are left...0."

But I doubt the monster who murdered four threw, rather than stabbing, slicing, slashing.
Of course, there were other reviews, from 2 to 5 stars.
Thanks, I would not know, I've never heard of that before and ran across it while researching this case.

But the most notable distinction between Laundrie and this case is LE saying they've been cleared, or more specifically "believed not to be involved". They didn't say that about Laundrie, they may have been hiding their cards, but they weren't putting out convoluted lies about him not being involved. And while your point about him being able to disappear and kill himself is SO valid, Laundrie didn't seem like a danger to the public the way a deranged mass stabbing murderer would be.

On top of that, even if LE claiming certain people are cleared was some sort of super rare master strategic misinformation investigative tool, I highly doubt that the mayor and the prosecutor would have started reinforcing the "targeted" statements that were initially pretty strongly made by LE just so LE could release two conflicting qualifying statements to the tune of "it wasn't that sort of targeted". It's just too much to believe it was orchestrated, and would be too poorly executed if it was some sort of super manipulative plan on LE's part.

Nah, nope, I don't buy it even a little. I think LE initially thought, for valid reasons, it was more specifically targeted, but their investigation thus far has not provided them any evidence of this. I think they likely regret how those first few press conferences were phrased because other than some more extensive wounds on K, they have no evidence of person-specific targeting after a whole lot of investigating... MOO
Completely agree. And how Brian Laundree got away I’ll never understand.

What??? I never said lying, I said downplaying! And we all know info is not always made public.
Oh, then I misunderstood. My apologies. You said "It occurred to me that LE is downplaying the pups role in this for whatever reason. It could be Murphy was loose and covered in blood." That conflicts with MPD's recent news release:
Officers did not find any evidence on the dog and there was no indication the animal had entered the crime scene.

You might guess he threw them?

edited for grammer.
I'm not sure what you mean, but I was referring to using the Rambo knives in a competition, trying to land them in a vertical hard (wood?) surface, compared to those in the photos with slender points. But standing above a horizontal body, no problem with the Rambo knife.

IMO, Sociopathy/Psychopathy/Antisocial Personality Disorder are sometimes used interchangeably, although, I think there are slight differences between them. ASP is the personality disorder named in DSM. Sociopathy and Psychopathy are qualifiers, with one apparently being worse than the other. Sociopathy vs Psychopathy

Sociopathy is often linked to antisocial personality disorder. Psychopathy has traditionally had some different features, but there's controversy about this and some research shows there actually is not much difference between psychopathy and ASP. Regardless, I don't think it really matters in terms of this killer. Call him a psychopath, a sociopath, or ASP. It's all just guesses. I think only the professionals who will be giving expert psychiatric testimony in the trial need to be bothered with the subtle (if any) differences.

I live in Australia, so don't this location. Is it common for hunters to live here? Clearly, the perpetrator was very skilled in hunting knife use. Someone who blends in with the college town crowd, and is a skilled (and very confident) user of such knives. Would that be common in this location? There are probably dozens of possible perps, but the highly skilled use of the knife must surely set him apart (killing 4 adults with it - no mean feat).
Many, many people hunt in Idaho and would be skilled at knife use but aren’t murderers. So this would not be unique and probably be 1000’s of people.

Yep. No DNA. Bloodhound were wrong/mistaken. This kid never gave a reason, either...and subsequently killed himself while in prison. His journal hinted at a motive. He "hated happy people".
Does it remind you of this case ? I am from the area, no one could believe a 16 year old did It. Horribly sad for both families.

I have no set theory, I change my mind constantly as to what could’ve happened and because of that my thoughts below will contradict each other but I think they’re all worthwhile thoughts to share…

Do we know if any of the victims bedroom doors were locked upon LE arriving? I know there has been some talk over locks being changed and why but I personally wouldn’t find locks on their individual bedroom doors unusual given it’s a party house. I would however find it odd that they would lock their bedroom doors when there’s no party particularly given how close they all were with each other and the *alleged* carefree attitude they had with locking the main house door. I can imagine a scenario though where the 2 surviving housemates went to bed at a normal time and because they were unsure who would be coming in and out of the house that night they locked their individual bedrooms doors when they went to sleep. E, A, K and M all came home much later and given the time figured no one would be hVing any parties or people over so they went to bed and didn’t bother locking as they knew it was just the housemates home. This also fits in for me if the 911 call was passed around to multiple people… the only scenario I can imagine multiple people needing to take the phone and speak to emergency would be because they were hysterical. That also IMO fits in with them calling friends to come over first - they weren’t thinking straight because they had seen something. I take the reports of an “unconscious person” with a grain of salt as that sounds very much like it has come from the operator at some point, as in “are they breathing” etc “…you believe the individual is unconscious” then that being relayed to police/ambulance. I’ve heard very graphic deaths referred to by emergency operators as an unconscious person. I also can’t imagine 20 or so year old girls using that terminology in that moment, even if they hadn’t seen a body. It just sounds very formal.
I guess my theory here is maybe the entire house was targeted by some random psychopath unknown the the occupants and he/she DID try to go into the lower level rooms but they were locked.

My other thought is, and others I’m sure will be able to speak of this more than me… could the perp have entered through the 2nd floor sliding door via the bush land on Walenta Drive and not have actually realised the lower floors had bedrooms? I’m not sure what house styles and layouts are typical there, however personally thinking of houses where I am I would assume that lower level is a garage if I only saw the house from the back/sliding door/deck side. The fact that cars were parked in front of that lower level also looks to me like they’re all parked in front of a garage (if I didn’t notice the windows that is).

Anyway, that’s my ramblings of the moment. No doubt I’ll change my mind again in 5 minutes time!
If I had not been inside that house I would not know that the bottom floor with a separate entrance is not a separate apartment. Dividing single family homes into apartments is pretty common in college towns.
There’s a trail from the front parking area along the side of the house to the back, which also could make one assume it’s two dwellings.

Daily mail is reporting potential legal action from SG against local law enforcement . It was also reported he has hired private investigators .
at this point after three weeks with no knew information being reported to the families ( not public) can we blame him ?
The DM is trash news. As is all media now. Moo. Let him sue. This case is not an SVU episode. Its real life. LE Homicide the UBI etc are trying to get a clue to a solid suspect. This not a cold case. I never thought we would have a suspect with Abby and Libby, but now we do. This stuff takes time. DNA all that stuff takes time. No, LE Hom. doesn't have to disclose what they have. Jmo

It appears to me LE dropped the ball there. That was a case that could have been solved from the get go. Maybe SG knows about that and is worried the same thing will happen here?
