This camera is located in Moscow. There are a bunch of other Idaho Dept. of Transportation traffic cameras in Moscow, including one on the intersection of Palouse River Dr. and 95. It does not appear that the Idaho DOT makes the camera archives available to the public, but I would hope they have their own archive that LE can access (I would assume police would have already reviewed these early on the investigation, but it seems odd that if that were the case it would take nearly a month for them to identify a car of interest, MOO).
Is there definitely an archive? There was a serious accident on a known problematic section of highway near me some years back. It turned out the camera was a live traffic condition observation camera that didn't record at all.

Kinda doesn't make sense. Also, styner is a main road and has all the bus stops which means probably fairly well-lit imo and ime. Even or esp if I lived that direction, that's not how I'd have left a murder scene. I'd have taken my chances with ring cameras in the dark recesses of the neighborhood v. brightly lit main roads with businesses, but then again, I've never committed a quadruple murder. still, I hope I would have planned better than a main road like that. @North_Idaho_Nony, can you shed any light on the lighting on Styner and that store location?

Interesting. I’ve followed many a case where they were able to obtain ring footage and business surveillance footage and track a perp. I would have just assumed this avenue was being investigated from the start

Exactly, like find a dumpster to dump his clothes, or gloves. etc.
IDK. if this killer was a planner, that would be a stupid move. All that DNA waiting to be found. If I were safe in my car, I'd just keep driving to WA and change clothes there or when I got home. I wouldn't dump DNA-laden clothing anywhere. I'd get somewhere and destroy it. jmo

Just want to clarify because I’m very confused….

Is the white Hyundai Elantra deemed to be the car of a POI? Has LE stated that the Elantra is involved in this murder?

Am I correct that you believe the image captured places the car where I have placed the red X in my image below heading S/E towards the McDonalds? If so, what are your thoughts on the side street the car supposedly turned down?

I’m not disagreeing just trying to get my bearings right and I can’t find a side street that I would think would be within the cameras reach if the car was on Troy heading South-East.

Do you think he carried in his phone into the house to commit murder? Or sat outside the house with it for 10-15 minutes scouting?

My point is there may have been incremental steps to him returning home, and be seen entering his residence bloody.
Doesn't it seem odd to target a house and rush in to commit the murders ( with the assumption the image of the car was captured on their way to the home ). I suppose it's possible between 4 and 5 but it seems too late

It looks like it's headed east on Hwy 8.

"A cellphone photo of a computer screen showing a white car on Highway 8 in Moscow, Idaho, around 3:45 a.m. on Nov. 13, according to a clerk who found it while reviewing security footage. (Fox News Digital)"
With a car spotted at a specific place & time, can it be cross referenced to see who pinged the nearest cell tower in that time & location & then maybe what type of car is owned? Of course, if planned meticulously, probably did not carry a cell that night.
It seems he knew enough to head down roads without many cameras.

The camera view toward Highway 8 shows a light pole across the street. (from samanthadaniels1995, thank- you).

It's hard to tell because of all the reflection in the image, but could that vertical thing in the upper right corner of the image below be a light pole (the rest of it being obscured by the cell phone reflection)?

I don't see anything vertical across the street on White Avenue that could account for it... just the light pole on Highway 8. Unless it's a reflection of some sort, but it does look like it is in the video frame. JMO.

Police have asked that the owner of the vehicle contact them. If that person had come forward, police would have said they are no longer looking for the vehicle. Instead, they are very interested in footage from a nearby gas station of a similar vehicle.

If the owner hasn't come forward, perhaps the owner has something to hide? The owner is not a person of interest, or a suspect.

Earlier posts map the car traveling from 1122 King Rd to the gas station. I suggest the car continued along an eastward heading and turned north off of hwy 8 as a first approach. I suggested using Google map street view to travel the neighborhoods north east of the gas station
