Daily Mail. com's Andrea Cavallier trumpets that LE are ' hapless'
(Presumably based on opinion of one former FBI er, quoted below. nothing else at the link to substantiate that claim.)

"Pete Yachmetz, a security consultant and former FBI agent, said they should relinquish control of the University of Idaho murders investigation.

'I think the Moscow Police Department is in over its head. I think they're drowning,' Yachmetz told The New York Post this week. 'They don't have the resources to properly address this type of crime.'

The small police department is working the case with six detectives and being backed up by 46 FBI investigators, 13 Idaho State Police investigators and 15 of its uniformed staff.

'I think it might be time for them to relinquish the lead agency designation,' Yachmetz said. 'The lead agency is the one who makes all the determinations for how the investigation progresses.

'Of course, coming from my background I think the Bureau might have better resources to address it,' the former FBI agent said."

What is that guy talking about? The FBI can't take over the investigation.

'Premiered 42 minutes ago
It's been one month since four University of Idaho students were brutally murdered in an off-campus rental home. What are detectives looking for, and why has the killer not been found? #CourtTV's Vinnie Politan has the latest on the investigation.'

Careful folks.

When viewing vehicles for sale, ads in Canada are typically in metric so the ads refer to kilometers, not miles. IOW odometer in kms would presumably show the trip meter in kms as well .. therefore 486 kms is about 302 miles.

That Hyundai looks light blue to me, not white.

this car is interesting tho. this car is parked at the corner of queen and King and in front of one of 3 party houses. U can see pics of X standing on the roof of the house and if u look up the street from King not Queen U can see a blue civic parked in the Driveway that could be Xs. This car pic is from oct 2021 and X on the roof is from Feb 2022

plus, iirc even the numbers of personnel is incorrect

( the only other reason given by reporter to substantiate her ' hapless' in big letters in the title is one of the parents. She then chucks in ' bungling ' for good measure)

Tox reports are not back yet

( many have wondered whether some of the victims may have been drugged or sedated in some way)

Anyway, I find it odd that Cathy M has already ruled out any of that & is telling media

Because cause of death is stabbing and manner of death is homicide. That’s not going to change even if they were intoxicated or had been drugged.

"I could go on for days about the coroner," Gray added, in an exasperated tone. "Cathy Mabbutt made some personal phone calls to some of the family and released a lot of information that investigators didn't know about," he said.

She had also shared with the father details of the other victims’ injuries, which he felt was inappropriate.

The main purpose of the meeting, though, was to move forward and improve communication with the family, Gray
noted.

"If you have one voice, and it's consistent, people trust in your investigation," Gray said. "If there are three to four different stories coming from three to four different people, and they're different takes on things, that diminishes the trust."

you should tell her

she said '"They can be related to cause or manner of death,

but they are not in this case.”

Kids these days cannot get off of their phones. IMO- It's hard to believe that if someone had a vendetta to pursue- that there would not be texts, snapchats, IMs, emails, between the parties that would leave a clear trail of evidence. (Heck, I stopped watching the First 48 because once they got the cell phone/text messages of the victim 99% of the crimes were solved.) IMHO-to me this case wreaks of stalker/ pleasure killer.

I think you're on the right track with this-unless the killer was able to completely avoid using their phone there are going to be clues. Yes, a vendetta oriented killer would be be so prone to typing things, I think it's just a matter of time before LE solves it. MOO

I take her quote in the tweet to mean that drug/alcohol use did not contribute to cause or manner of death in this case (sharp force homicide). They may or may not have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but that did not contribute to the cause or manner of death. MOO

Yes, I took it that way also.

Nothing in toxicology is likely to be related to proximate / immediate CoD in this case.

My heart aches for all of these families, but it especially aches for the family of Ethan Chapin. I can not imagine how I would react if I thought, or even suspected, that the family member of another victim might unwittingly say something that could hurt my child's case. I'm beginning to think it might be wise for all of the victims families to retain attorneys. Especially when they are all dealing with so much raw emotion.
