Please tell me what "right" the public has to know anything about any crime and why details are released to the public any details? Would eliminate a lot of bs imo. Besides "we need video tapes from this date to this date-"( as step #1)....why say 1 word to public? Is there some law? Plumber in Motown

Okay bear with me here. What if this was a murder suicide? What if one of the victim's killed the other 3 and then killed themself. The problem with that theory, the murder weapon was never found. But, what if one of the people that morning that was either in the house or called to the house took the knife because they didn't want that person found to be responsible? Highly unlikely, but still a theory. MOO
So now a crime of one has become a conspiracy, not buying it
The perp could have kept a secret to the grave alone, but all of those left alive are now so loyal to the end to keep silent and cover up the crime of the person who killed their friends.
Means and Opportunity do not create Motive

More premeditated definitely if the route was planned avoid cameras. That might though mean he drive about looking for the cameras at one point so that might be filmed. Did I read something about those cameras film not being saved though?

If so premeditated then KG being there for just a day means not the target or someone knew she’d be home or someone who was just looking for victims that eve.

I agree with this line of thought.
Not me

Regarding the question Kaylee asked Maddie in that video, what if that was why they tried to get a hold of Kaylee's ex so many times that morning. Maybe there was something that Kaylee didn't want her ex to know and was afraid that whatever Maddie had told Andy would get back to him? Just a thought.
Yes. Possibly Maddie told the guy that Kaylee was seeing someone else? By Kaylee's tone of voice she didn't sound happy that Maddie was talking to him. Then Maddie's response seems odd when she says she told Adam "everything". Almost like she's rubbing it in?

They do cut/puncture analysis on the wounds. Meaning the measure the angle which the blade went in. They can also attempt to determine the type of blade the velocity. But my point, if this were a suicide they would have determined it by this analysis and we would know this by now. Opinion Only.

Here's a link from the NYP where you can see the Jack in the Box bag with Xana's name on it (scroll down). No date or time or receipt is visible. I attached a screen grab here as well.

Thank you so much! I was having trouble finding it.

IMO it’s possible
Only thing I think happened is roommates knocked on their doors or called them and knew they were not responding. They knew their cars were there so they got creeped out. I think both doors to both rooms were definitely shut and maybe even locked. They went and got friends because they knew something was off but also didn’t want to be overly dramatic if it was nothing big. I’m sure the last thing going through their heads were that all their roommates were stabbed to death.
yes. The roommates were spooked first

I don't get it.
How can a former prosecutor, Shanon Grey, not know why this could take longer than 5 weeks?

and on what is he basing this claim that the leadership is inadequate and needs to be changed? He says ' Im not sure they're capable of handling a quadruple murder.... if they are in over their heads... turn this over to somebody more versed in handling this type of matter'

why say all that on NBC news if you're ' not sure' and you're just speculating ?

He's already met with the lead investigator from MPD and the joint leader from ISP ( he said so in his last interview. he didn't mention meeting w the lead from FBI, as expected)

edited to add:
If he has something specific ( other than MPD's poor comms) he should just come out & say it instead of fooling around. ( Or at that juncture why doesn't an interviewing reporter reply wtte put up or shut-up Shannon? or ' specifically what do you mean Mr Grey?)

this kind of talk will not help frustration levels of Steve Goncalves & family ( nor, potentially the other families)
Great thoughts. To me, when an attorney uses this line of language it tells me that he is in over his head. He's doing anything he can to attain information that LE is unwilling to give. What he doesn't realize is all the pressure in the world will still not cause LE to release info. This is not a saavy attorney, IMO.

I think you're spot-on here:

You don't want to get your friends/roommates in trouble, generally, so they were probably thinking a couple of things:

1. Possibly calling friends who's places they may have been prone to crashing at to see if they were were (they may not have even known they were home).

2. Getting some help to "wake them up" if they were under the impression they were just passed out.

If the above failed, then maybe it would have spurned them to think maybe something else was going on (I'm going to assume here that your roommates being murdered is a FAR though from most people's minds), so they called for some more help, and then maybe forced their way into the bedrooms and discovered the truth.

If my assumptions are correct, I'd be lead to think that either there was zero evidence of anything wrong outside of the bedrooms (i.e. no blood, anything in disarray). I would be curious to know if anything was evident that would lead them to think anything more than the roommates had too much to drink.
IMO, perhaps the smell of blood, decomposition, vomit, urine, fecal incontinence etc would have been a big clue. That along with the open slider door would have made them suspicious.

Let’s say they did find some footprints of some kind across the floor and coming out of the house. How would those be collected and protected from the door of the house on the porch and into the yard and across the yard?
Swabs of trace?
Photograph images?
Evidently whatever was collected has been done, and no more collection is expected as the path of travel is not marked off in any way. It has basically gone back to nature.

As I’ve not seen anything resembling a focus in the yard, I’m thinking there must not have been anything obvious?? No markers with numbers as is typical
Maybe I missed it? I agree with you that it would seem likely, but I just didn’t see anyone report that such evidence was or had been collected.

One case I followed years ago I don't recall seeing pics of LE with markers outside the house except for bloody drag marks (no footprints that were obvious)...

I have to wonder what photos get published too. I guess freedom of the press is that and I agree not many photos of markers outside the house. I'm hoping they got some bloody vshoe prints from inside.

I would bet that this is walking from the Corner Club to the Grub Truck. And it looks like HG is walking them there, as has been frequently speculated on here.

Intoxicated or not, the way in which M is walking, almost marching along, swinging her arms with the obviously oversized coat flopping around past her hands just seems so carefree and joyful. Seemingly having no clue what horrible fate is awaiting them in the next few hours.

It breaks my heart. :(
IMO HG was escorting the women out of the Corner Club and to the Grub Truck because there was a ruckus within the Corner Club and the women were threatened.

And I have never heard of anyone committing suicide with a knife by stabbing themselves. It's almost always slashing - the neck or wrists, specifically.

I've seen a death ruled as suicide by stabbing. It happens. I believe musician Elliot Smith's death was ruled this way. With that being said, I'm pretty sure there's no way this was a murder suicide. How would someone kill 3 people, then kill themselves and hide the weapon after they killed themself?

In other words, the killer came from the dealership where KG bought her car and just stalked her in a car from his own dealership?
Possibly but a bit of stretch but still could be a car connection if a burner car was used. Hypothetical thoughts!

Many employees at a dealership though... Sales, service, mechanics... Someone knows a buddy with a junk yard.

My own thoughts are though that this wasn't a burner car and not random, but I'm still trying to brainstorm a bit and be open to everything.

So you think photos taken by the press have to go through LE before they can be published?
I thought that may be the case years ago but did not think so today.

Just curious if anyone knows??

If you weren’t sure if you had blood evidence, it wasn’t clearly visible, I would pay the $50 to have your car washed and detailed with an oil change.
This way my fingerprints aren’t the only ones in the car, and any of mine are covered by the fingerprints of others, wipe clothes, many moving around inside and out.

I don’t know what this would get rid of, I do know there are places things can hide- like dry cereal and fish crackers get lodged in the space where the seatbelt collapses. If you have ever traveled with little kids you figure out all the places that are tough to clean.

JMO
True! My car is clean except where my kids sit lol.... But then there would be a paper trail if no fake ID. JMO

I'm guessing LE are checking auto shops, car detailing places and recently listed cars for sale.
