Have we all forgotten the "burner cells" Terri Horman used with DeDe and others following Kyron's disappearance? They could have gotten one before the trip, or even during the drive to town. They could then have communicated freely, dumped the phones later, and nothing on their "real" phones would incriminate them.

What's a burner cell? Just a cheap pay-as-you-go phone that you don't register, and then destroy afterwards?

Sure they could have done that, if they'd planned it all in advance.

"They know something, I just don't know what they know," he told the station. "It causes me alarm. I believe they know where he is absolutely."

This says it all for me on the parents involvement.

Yeah... JMO but I don't think he'd say that lightly. He's been very fair and held off for as long as possible, IMO.

Eta, plus the fact that he's already talking about double jeopardy and stuff like that... And "We don't want to charge them too soon", not We're trying to decide whether to charge them.

Probably a burnt out tail light or headlight - they usually just give you a warning for such offenses, however they still want to see your license and registration.

Of course, they may have stopped her because LE would know that she didn't have a valid license or that it was suspended.

Hi all,
well I've read 5000 posts and just wondered if someone could recall something. Didnt Klein say he and his staff were in tears after discovering something in the case?
I'm up to speed, but the whole Vilt "adoption" interview was so odd and contrasting it made me wonder if I heard what I thought I did

I guess I don't see that they would know the "how" unless the physical evidence was somehow tied to the missing child such as DNA, hair, etc. Just speculating, but they must have found something of the child. What else could it possibly be that would implicate likely death of the child?

Hiya Claire! Very glad to hear that re the reservoir. I think in the UK all (?) our reservoirs are used for public homes, and we drink tap water so.... bleeurrrgh (I know it's cleaned and filtered, but...)

Very intrigued to hear more on the physical evidence bit, but yeah, if the two are connected :( indeed... It can't be enough to arrest the parents though, so what is it?

O/T - Just FYI. In parts of the US, like on the east coast, the word reservoir is typically used to describe a place that collects water for drinking. In other parts of the country it's meaning is not as specific and often refers to any place where water is dammed to regulate the flow, either to control seasonal flooding or to water crops and/or livestock.

Just some points from the Klein / KID interview.

Part I

-How they got involved with the case: Contacted through Child Rescue Network that they are a part of. Services they provide are free to families that need it, though they do request families, etc. to pay for some expenses.

- Re: Animal attack , absolutely no evidence.

- Re: Abduction, absolutely no evidence including they have tracked the money flow and there is no evidence of selling the baby.

-Investigating it now as a death case.

-Re: accident or intentional death, they are presently in the stage of determining what type of incident.

-He has never seen such a cooperative effort between private and public sector in a case.

-Right now waiting on some lab results and analyses of evidence coming in from Quantico, and more is on the way out.

-There is no indication other persons are involved other than the two named suspects, though there are ancillary issues he can't get into re: the other two people at the campground that they are still vetting out.

Part II

-Yes, there is active evidence of what happened in this case. It was obtained earlier and matched up later.

-More items were taken into custody yesterday.

-It's not a matter of whether charges will be filed, but what charges will be filed.

-Charges will be filed in Lemhi county (not Bonneville), but also will involve U.S. Attorney (prosecution) as the incident occurred on federal land

-Klein Inv. will not leave the case or let it go until it is solved and they bring baby Deorr home.

Clarification -

From the recent interviews with Klein and Vilt, Vilt stated the adoption scenario is just one scenario he had looked into.
He then confirmed the interviewer's leading statement in that the adoption scenario wasn't his theory, just a possible scenario.

Why does Klein keep implying they've been working closely with LE, but Bowerman said he didn't even meet with them?

Sorry in advance if this is seen as snarky. I wonder if ninij9 has some of us on ignore and can't see our responses? Maybe Besse will be kind enough to repost what I just posted above and see if that helps.
Lol, hi Claire, no I don't have anyone blocked here at Websleuths. I'm easy to get along with. I've been on the media thread doing my homework. I do appreciate all of the help and the fact that you've taken a moment to point me in the right direction. I do see now where SB has used the phrase suspects. Thanks![emoji5]
Edited to add: I just really didn't want to think that these parents would be responsible accidentally or on purpose in harming him. I wanted to be super sure before I looked at them this way. Again thanks

Bowerman said he did not meet with Klein when they first started working on the case. Maybe they have met this week? Or maybe Klein is just stretching the truth.

We should ask Trish to ask the sheriff about that tonight. No matter who Klein says he's working for, at the end of the day he was hired by the family of one of the main suspects, so I find it hard to believe that LE is sharing all or any of their findings with Klein.

Re the ignore button, where is it please? Not that I want to use it whatsover, just seen it mentioned but don't see it anywhere!

I don't like this villainizing of Jessica because she (allegedly) didn't want children. Many women do not want children, and that doesn't make them bad. With sex education in the US being so bad, and Jessica having children so young, it's likely that she wasn't educated about contraception and/or did not have access to or money for contraceptives. Tubal ligation is uncommon in young women (often because doctor's won't allow it), but when a woman already has children, especially if she has a low socioeconomic status, more doctors will perform them.

Not wanting children doesn't make you more likely to murder. <modsnip>

Generally, when you give birth to your FIRST child, the doctor will bring up the issue of contraception/family planning. Most prefer you to wait two years to become pregnant again, although is an older mom, they may advise differently as her fertility may have begun to decrease and it may take a little longer to be successful. So the other two may not have been planned, but not planning to have kids is a far cry from trying not to have kids. If she continued to have unprotected sex, that is on her.

Why does Klein keep implying they've been working closely with LE, but Bowerman said he didn't even meet with them?
Maybe he is . . he doesn't say who in LE, or where. And also, closely could be interpreted many ways: side-by-side, email exchanges once a week.
Why imply?- because it sounds better than I call weekly into the tip line to report what I know. (<--idk, just my attempt at humor)

Why does Klein keep implying they've been working closely with LE, but Bowerman said he didn't even meet with them?

I dkn, but I do recall Bowerman stating when asked, about Klein meeting / working with LE but not himself. Perhaps Bonneville LE and FBI, also in Bonneville ? They're staying in Idaho Falls so maybe that's it.

Vilt's thinking is that she legally adopted out her son in a state that doesn't inform bio dads. This has never made sense to me. Why would she bother going through a legal process to completely disregard the law and fake his disappearance? As awful as the other alternative scenarios are, at least they have happened before in the world. They are known behavior--as shocking as it is. But has anyone ever heard of a case where someone legally adopts out a child and then fakes that child's disappearance? I did a super lame cursory search awhile back and could find nothing.

In Idaho, where they are, Deorr Sr. (aka Vernal) meets the requirements of a father who MUST consent to an adoption, as he spent significant time with the boy, claimed on hospital paperwork to be the father (affidavit of paternity), and seemingly lived with the mother for more than 6 months.

Is Tricia interviewing the sheriff today? If so; What questions are we asking him to answer or clarify? Thanks
