Where is it factually stated that DK called off sick?

Good question. I've never mentioned it before but it was discussed at length here on one of the threads. Maybe somebody can answer? If it's just a rumor I latched onto and then used to mischaracterize VDK, I stand corrected on that point. I'm often wrong, the older I get, the more I regocnize that fact.

It may be the case with JM that she is irregular...but I think an argument can reasonably be made that she used that topic as an excuse knowing it's a tried and true one women can rely on when necessary. I feel it was mentioned in a way that seemed overdone. Calling her mother and informing her also seems overkill, but conversely it matches her behavior that I view as immature.

Not necessarily. I believe she both made up an excuse and then exxagerated it. Jmo and not one we will likely ever receive an answer to. I'm just looking at what little information we have and trying to figure out how it might work as a whole to explain why they are suspected of causing their son's disappearance.

I have been thinking about that "older couple" at the other campsite. Perceptions are funny. I know a couple that I never think of as "older", although they reminded me today they are a good couple of decades (if not three) older than me. When they left today to go camping, they had their RV, their two mountain bikes, two kayaks and snowshoes because they wanted to be outside and as active as possible. I am not 12, or even 22...or 32...or 42...

Not really helpful other than it reminded me not to stereotype "older couple" in any way, shape or form.

Don't bother if you're searching for when DeOrr (Vernal) supposedly called into work sick. That was a rumor confirmed by one of the moderators.

I believe you mean confirmed as a rumor, not a rumor that was confirmed.

Ikr? It's maddening! She seems too immature and incapable to be a mother of 3. Idk...maybe I'm too judgy or old school in my beliefs but I am bothered by her behavior. Nothing wrong with her mother comforting and supporting her...but be a mamma bear! Be a grown woman

I didn't intend to imply the parents should get a break if they are indeed responsible for this poor child's death. I just wanted to explain there are phases and words they are using that are regional slang and people shouldn't read too much into the words.

I haven't made up my mind yet on level of culpability the parents have in this disappearance of DeOrr. JMO - Whatever did happen, happened at or near the campsite and that GGP & IR are not involved.

Sorry maybe I missed a comma or something. I was agreeing with you totally. I meant what I said literally, I personally don't give them slack but you pointing out language/slang differences is very valid. I in no way meant you are trying to cover for them or give them slack.
