There are two Timber Creek Campgrounds. The one in the Lost River District is further south, closer to MacKay. Here is the link to the Timber Creek/Stone Reservoir campsite where DeOrr went missing from: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/scnf/recarea?recid=76098

Here is the link to the OTHER Timber Creek Campground: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/scnf/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=76050&actid=29

I began to wonder about that since it seems some of the information posted is about one of the Timber Creek Campgounds and some is from a different one. Where is the link that shows this campground listed with the Ranger District it is located in? The Leadore Ranger District doesn't list a Timber Creek Campground. It shows Reservoir Creek but I can't find the Timber Creek Campground listing in that Ranger District. Odd!

ETA: Reservoir Creek says there are only two primitive sites. Here's the link: http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/scnf/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=76078&actid=29

Nothing about five sites with three being above and two down below. I KNOW it's been described that way with five sites throughout the forum. What the heck!!

I don't know if this has already been posted. The reporter from East Idaho News did an interview with 580 KIDO radio on Wednesday. I don't have time to listen to it, so I don't know if there is anything new or any clarifications in it. Here is the radio station website: http://580kido.com/ and here is the recording of the interview:

I listened to it..Nate said something to the effect that as far as they know this is not a custody issue. I am taking it out of context.. He didnt sound like he thought it was by any means but i suppose anything is possible..he also said home and vehicles have been searched by the FBI and they have their vehicles back and their home has been returned to normal..

Didnt hear anything new, listened to the whole thing. Thanks for the link though.

since I can't 'thank' posts I want to shout out neesaki's 909 and seriously searching's 905 posts...:tyou:

I think the PI was the first to say they were so big they would fall off. I know we were discussing "how big is oversized?" because the boots could be a size or two too big, or his dad's. Vilt narrowed down the description quite a bit IMO.

By contrast, when Jerold Williams went missing, they provided the specific size of the shoe along with a photo of exactly what it looked like, even going so far as to state the shoe pictured was one size different than the shoe he was actually wearing. No one has ever provided photos of exactly what DeOrr was wearing or even close matches to it.

Looks like a person with dark clothing, but I see something else, white legs maybe wearing knee length shorts?
Could it be a biker. .bicyclists are around here all the time in Montana on all kinds of crazy mountainous roads etc.

This is the link I've seen before.

I have been lurking, reading all these posts but I have to make a comment.

From the very first time that I heard about this missing person case. The same questions have been gong through my mind. They are the same questions that all have been asking on this forum. Verification of the timeline. Verification of arrival, set up camp time. Verification of number of vehicles. Verification of trip to store...candy bar or french fries? EMT bag? and so on and so forth! My comment is that if we are all asking these questions, don't you think that the reporter(EIN) would be asking the same questions? If he is, why are they not being answered. If he is not, why not? The absence of facts is what is spreading the rumours. This is just a very strange case!!

Thanks to all who have gone above and beyond with your research.

But that's from ANOTHER link that would show the name of the campground. That link (on your post) doesn't give the name of the campground at all. I'm looking for the link, that link, links to, LOL Hope that makes sense.

It's weird that the Timber Creek campground outside of Leadore isn't listed on the main Challis-Salmon forest service web site with the rest of the campgrounds. I found it by Googling for it. If you click on the brown tent icons on the map on this page (on my computer I have to zoom out to see both of them) it shows the name of the campground and has a link for either the lower and upper camp area. http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/scnf/recarea?recid=76098 (I think this link is actually the upper campground page)

There seem to be more on the 11th, but still not tons. If the camera is set to take a photo every 15 minutes, we are only getting a snap shot of the number of people who travel that road. But it is really odd that only 2 of the snapshots caught vehicles when the days on either side had considerably more (8 photos had vehicles or light reflections from vehicles on July 9th between 01:01:02 and 22:31:02, 2 on the 10th between 00:01:02 and 23:46:01 and 8 on the 11th between 00:01:02 and 21:46:02.)

Maybe LE and SAR came in via Sawmill Canyon Road/101? They would have bypassed SH 28 and Gilbert Summit. I'll see if the same pattern holds true on the South View camera. It takes a while to isolate all of the photos and match them up with the timestamps.

Isn't 28 the road the family would've come in on from Idaho Falls?

Yes.

Someone asked why we don't see lots of LE and SAR traffic on that summit cam and rkf was suggesting they did not travel on 28 to get to the search site.

Yes - 28 is the road they would have used. Anything else would not be logical (adding a lot of time to the drive with mountain roads that are not the best).

It is interesting about the road camera not showing a lot of activity friday afternoon/evening when SAR and LE showed up. They also likely would have come from the Idaho Falls area (not north from Salmon). Although salmon is also in Lemhi County so perhaps LE is based out of there since it is the biggest town in the County. But it really isn't that big.

The mysterious image could be a road biker. We passed many on our way out of Salmon (north 93) which 28 leads into. The roads were very steep, yet bikers were in abundance.

Wouldn't a lot/most SAR/LE come from Salmon or other places from the north? No cameras between Salmon and campground.

I think LE came in from Leadore, didn't they? So a different route.

ETA: Sorry, I'm wrong, they would've come from Salmon, or at least that's where the headquarters are.

Is there a camera from Salmon to Leadore? That would confirm if LE (or an increase in activity was there after Deorr was reported missing.

I would imagine some would come from Salmon, but it really is a small town of maybe 5k? It is mostly touristy. Nothing further north of salmon (Carmen, North Fork etc) would have major SAR folks. 40 miles north of Salmon and you are in MT and even then Missoula is over 100 miles into MT)

But Leadore is incredibly small that LE likely did not ORIGINATE from Leadore. They would have come from either Salmon or Idaho Falls

ETA: my post was posted at the same time as the quoted poster's edit. :)

So what does that leave? An abductor who was very concerned that his boots not fall off? That's weird to me. An abductor swooping in from behind the trees and grabbing him while holding his boots in place so they didn't come off.

Or foul play and the perp was careful to leave no trace behind.
