Scott Reisch names a few tests that mental health professionals use to detect malingering:

I recently read the book The Confidence Men which tells how POWs conned their way out of a prison camp using a homemade Ouija board and pretending to contact the spirit world and then mental illness. They knew they had to keep it up 24/7 and did. They believed some of their fellow hospital patients were actually doctors observing them. They went through quite a bit to convince them but did. Interesting read if you enjoy histtory and psychology.

The premiere of Lifetime’s Doomsday Mom: The Lori Vallow Story was on Thursday, February 17, at 8 p.m., Eastern, on LMN, if anyone is interested in trying to track it down now that it has aired.

Hi Sleuths, Got a question, I have been bouncing around a few cases lately and working my way back to this one.
Does anyone know where I can find the text transcripts between Zulema and the gang/aka Lori, Chad & Alex? If so, thank you in advance.
AFAIK, the text messages were part of three FOIA releases, two by Chandler PD and one by Gilbert PD. The media and interested parties, e.g. true crime content creators, had to pay for them, so it's less likely they would be available for free (or only to paying supporters). Many of the texts have been highlighted on YouTube, both recently and a while ago, but we aren't allowed to link to non-approved channels here.

Eric Grossarth is leaving EIN and won't be covering this case any more. He sat down with Nate Eaton to discuss the latest. They speculate that Lori's misdemeanor charges were dropped so that MM could not stay on as her defense lawyer.

A Daybell case recap before Eric says goodbye

A new book on this case is coming out in June, titled When the Moon Turns to Blood: Lori Vallow, Chad Daybell, and a Story of Murder, Wild Faith, and End Times, and written by Leah Sottile, a freelance journalist/podcaster who previously published in NYT and WaPo on the topics of "extremist ideologies, the antigovernment movement and fringe cultures". According to the promo, the book was inspired by Jon Krakauer’s Under the Banner of Heaven (2003) and Jess Walter’s Every Knee Shall Bow (1996).

“MCAO (Maricopa County Attorney’s Office) will NOT charge Chad Daybell w/ conspiring to kill Brandon Boudreaux after “lengthy, careful” review of Gilbert case. Prosecutor still reviewing same charge for Lori Vallow.

GPD report: Daybell, Vallow and the late Alex Cox planned murder attempt, called Boudreaux (EX of LV’s niece) “dark” soul.

For those asking about Melani Pawlowski, Gilbert PD never recommended charges for her to MCAO when they initially sent in the case last November.”

Didn't Alex communicate with Chad using burner phones when he was waiting for Brandon to return home and on Alex's way to/from Arizona? Were they chatting about the weather?

And Chad was seen with Lori taking the Jeep's spare tire and car seat into storage after the failed attempt? Why would they do that if they knew nothing about Alex's plans?

If this wasn't a conspiracy, what was it?

From the article at the link (BBM):

Two days before the shooting: Cox visited Lori Daybell's apartment and received a phone call from a burner phone belonging to Chad Daybell

Thirteen hours before the shooting: Cox's Gmail account show he searched Boudreaux's new rental address; more communications took place between Chad Daybell and Cox's burner phones around this time

Morning of the shooting: Chad Daybell and Cox communicated multiple times using their burner phones. Cox also called and texted Lori Daybell's personal cell phone while posted outside of Boudreaux's home; As Cox drove away, he called Chad Daybell twice through the burner phones, police said. Communication between the two continued until Cox approached Green River, Utah.

New details released about attempted shooting tied to Daybells as police recommend charges

That doesn't look like justice from where I'm sitting.

"Lengthy", I agree.

I've lost faith in them. Pathetic! IMO
