VALLOW CASE: New details from a Gilbert Police report obtained by Fox 10. On January 31, 2019 officers met with Lori Vallow at GPD. The report reveals Lori told police that her husband Charles stole her purse. Police had also been informed about a petition for an involuntary hold at Community Bridges. Police say Lori would be allowed to go to the facility willingly to talk to staff.

In the report, Charles also tells the officer over the phone that he found Lori’s purse on the ground at their son’s school and wanted his share of the money Lori had pulled from their joint bank account. The officer asks Charles to come to GPD with the purse and petition.

The officer said Lori was confused about how “someone could make up information to get her involuntary committed.” The officer explains to Lori why she needed to handle the petition and if she didn’t, he would have to take her to Community Bridges.

It’s also noted that Lori accused Charles of cheating on her during business trips so she moved her children out of their home before his return to Arizona.

Charles also tells police in the supplemental report that Lori changed the locks on their home. The officer says Charles seemed more worried about the “financial withdrawals Lori had made than her alleged incoherence.”

A follow up reveals Lori did check herself into Community Bridges before being discharged a few hours later.

On Wednesday, Fox 10 Phoenix reported on police reports that give more details of the events that took place after Charles returned to Arizona from that business trip.

The Gilbert Police Department’s incident/investigation report was made on Jan. 31, 2019, after Lori went to the police department to give a statement regarding Charles' reported actions. She was accompanied by her daughter, Tylee Ryan, and a friend whose name was redacted. Lori told officers that Charles had gone into her car and stolen her purse, which contained her wallet, IDs, credit cards and cellphone. The theft reportedly happened when she went into J.J.’s school to drop him off.

“It should be noted Lori provided a lot of background information regarding her and Charles’ relationship,” the report said.

The Chandler, Arizona Police Department has now released a 911 phone call from July 11, 2019 in relation to the case.

Alex Cox says in the call, "I got in a fight with my brother-in-law and shot him in self-defense."

Cox is Lori Vallow's brother. The man he shot was Vallow's estranged husband Charles Vallow. The shooting took place in Lori Vallow's Chandler home.

Cox says, "Yeah there's blood. He's not moving."

MORE ON MELANI: Fox 10 has uncovered more documents - this time a police report from American Fork PD in Utah. We cannot show the specific document but I'm going to report the information attributed to AFPD.

On Nov 12, 2019 just before 6 P.M., police say Melani B* trespassed onto the property of [BB's parents]*.... Melani came to look for Brandon B* and her kids. One of the children even came to the door but Brandon's parents brought all the kids upstairs... Melani kept pushing the RING doorbell and Brandon [told] her she could not be there... an officer got in contact with Melani [on the] phone. Melani said she had not seen her kids in more than a month and claimed Brandon kidnapped them ... The officer told Melani she could face criminal charges for trespassing again.

Two days later [On Nov 14th. 2019], around 10:30 P.M. police arrived at the same residence and say they found Melani coming out of the garage. Police say Melani's uncle Alex Cox drove her to the home in a 2020 Kia Telluride which was parked nearby behind another car. Brandon's relatives told police Melani brought a court order saying she could take her children. That's when the report says Brandon's family shut the door and called 911...Melani allegedly continued to the ring the doorbell, bang on [the door] and yell. Another relative claims she saw Melani go into the garage. At this time, Brandon was in AZ. Police cited Melani for criminal trespassing and told her to leave the property or she would be taken into custody.

Police later found cause for a domestic violence enhancement since Brandon and Melani were still married. The officer determined Melani should be taken into custody for arrest. Melani would eventually turn herself into AFPD and was booked into Utah County Jail for the misdemeanor. Melani's uncle Alex would post her bail of $1,950...

It should be noted Brandon filed court documents last October, wanting sole custody of his children. On October 14, 2019, Brandon says he got a text message from Melani, saying she planned to move to Boise, Idaho and the kids could stay with him in AZ or go with her.

Those court documents also state Brandon noticed how much time Melani spent with her aunt Lori Vallow... Lori and her new husband Chad Daybell are still wanted for questioning in the disappearance of her children JJ and Tylee.

However embalming "can interfere with toxicology and blood cultures," according to a PBS Frontline report. Maricopa County has released the medical examiner report for Joseph Ryan, the father of Tylee Ryan. His death is not being connected to the current investigations into the kids’ disappearance, the death of Charles Vallow, the death of Tammy Daybell, or the death of Alex Cox.

UPDATE: Scene is now clear at Kauai Beach Resort. Source tells me Kauai Police seized the rental car Lori & Chad used to get to hotel. The missing children, JJ & Tylee were not with them. I’m told Lori & Chad walked into the hotel after speaking with police. #fox10phoenix

Kauai PD pulled Lori & Chad over as they entered the resort parking lot. They’ve been staying in Princeville, HI for a while now. Lori used to live in Kauai w/ her former late husband Charles Vallow along w/ JJ & Tylee. Car has been towed away to be investigated. #fox10phoenix

Source tells FOX that Lori and Chad are not under arrest at this time. So far police have not changed their classification of Chad Daybell or Lori Vallow as “persons of interest.”

Multiple sources over the past few months had told FOX 13 that Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow were in Kauai being closely monitored by law enforcement. We’ve chosen not to publish that information until now in order to not interfere with the investigation.

KAUAI, Hawaii — Chad and Lori Daybell did not have much to say when approached by EastIdahoNews.com Sunday afternoon in Hawaii after they were served with two search warrants.

The couple was pulled over by Kauai Police officers around 3:30 p.m. local time as they were driving a black Ford Explorer along the Kuhio Highway. They entered the parking lot of Kauai Beach Resort, and police served them with a search warrant for their vehicle.

[...] Lori Daybell was put into one police SUV and Chad Daybell waited in another. After 30 minutes, a tow truck came and took the SUV. Police then went to the Daybells’ townhome in Princeville, Hawaii and executed a search warrant on the property.

The Daybells were not arrested Sunday and have not been criminally charged. Police declined to say what they are searching for and if any evidence was found, but Lori Daybell gathered belongings from her vehicle, including a large amount of cash in a plastic bag.

Sources: Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell located by authorities in Kauai, Hawaii

KAUAI, HI (3TV/CBS 5) – Sources with the FBI have told Arizona Family’s CBS affiliate-station KGMB that Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell have been located in Kauai, Hawaii. Multiple family members have confirmed they are hearing similar reports and are awaiting confirmation from law enforcement.

Sources said that a search warrant was executed to seize the rental vehicle being used by Vallow and Daybell. KGMB is reporting that Vallow and Daybell were detained, but not arrested. Authorities believe the two may have been in Kauai for some time and were staying at the Kauai Beach Resort. Lori and her former husband, Charles Vallow, had previously lived in Kauai.
