She can receive mail...

As in, pen pal mail?

I want to caution anyone who is thinking about writing to Lori (or Chad should he get arrested later) that copies of your letters along with your name and address could potentially end up treated as evidence in the case, may be included in the discovery packets for trial and could eventually be released to the general public for anyone to read. In a Colorado case I followed here this exact thing happened. After the suspect pleaded guilty and was sentenced, over 2000 pages of discovery docs were released. Many who had written to the murderer had their names and addresses along with photocopies of their letters published online. Idaho laws might require more redaction than Colorado did but, personally, I wouldn't chance it. You also may subject yourself to being investigated if you either threaten or imply in a letter to the inmate that you have knowledge of the suspect or the case. MOO.

BBM. MOO.

That's the same question I have. Nothing in probable cause affidavit about another Yellowstone trip.

Assuming they took the same approach for JJ, all this shows is LE didn't find a picture of them entering Yellowstone on the 24th or 25th. Or maybe they did, but they didn't need to disclose that fact to establish the probable cause that JJ was missing. For all we know they have a picture of Chad and Lori entering Yellowstone with JJ on the 24th and leaving without him being apparent a couple hours later.

The Rexburg event was held in a Mormon tabernacle? How often do non-church events put on by other organizations get held in a wardhouse, stake house, or other non-temple church building like this? I don't think I've ever heard of such a thing. If it happens, do the organization pay rent? I'd think organizations like PAP, in spite of their strongly worded disclaimers, would have a hard time convincing people they weren't semi-official in the church's eyes if they are holding things like this in church buildings. What am I missing? MOO
I don't know if this has been addressed yet, but the Rexburg Tabernacle is not owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but was sold to the city of Rexburg and is now a civic building.

Rexburg Stake Tabernacle - Wikipedia

Several years ago these groups were trying to host their events and conferences in Church owned buildings and properties in an attempt to give themselves legitimacy and attract a bigger audience/following. The Church put their foot down on this practice, but that hasn't stopped these groups from trying to tie themselves, beliefs, and practices to the Church in whatever ways they can in order to give themselves the air of legitimacy/support from the Church even when it's not true.

This case is fascinating
I have led some investigations in my time but nothing as surreal as this
Sadly, I find myself reading posts on the thread and then all of a sudden I realise, OMG this is real life... it reads like a crime fiction story .
I have always relied upon my gut instinct throughout my police career and I can say that 99.9% times I have not been let down by it ...But on this occasion, I just don’t have a clear answer. Rationally, it stands to reason when you consider all the variables, that the children must be deceased because of all the factors already outlined in this thread and Lori is such a narcissistic psychopath that there’s no way, I believe, that she would stay in prison and continue with the this charade if the children were in fact, alive . I think she would have showed proof of life by now. But what I found disconcerting, irrespective of the fact that she’s a narcissistic psychopath, is just how calm and carefree she and Chad were whilst under the LE microscope. Even hardened criminals in my own experience, would be sweating right now! I can only put it down to two things:
1. Its to do with their end of world beliefs and their belief that they have done everything in their own mind, for the right reasons.
Or
2. The children really are still alive and are being kept somewhere with likeminded people , ready for the end of the world ( a bit like the cults we have seen over the last 50 years ie. David Koresch and the other guy JONES who indoctrinated people to commit mass suicide).
But either way, my gut doesn’t want to play right now and is firmly sat 50/50 which for me is most confusing!

100% agree. Yesterday I said I was at 90% dead, 10% hidden. The news today about 2 people knowing where they are was somewhat encouraging but still only took me to 80/20.

The thing is, tight knit religious groups can do weird stuff. When I was young I lived near one. They had their own "compound" and did some crazy stuff. They were not dangerous but they were incredibly secretive toward outsiders. Most of the members moved from elsewhere drawn by their charismatic leader. The kids went to my school but they pretty much did not speak of anything that happened in the compound. They were not LDS either although there were a lot of LDS in the area as well. They were a mainstream christian, protestant denomination that just as a group took things much farther than most. After a few years they just kind of disbanded, maybe because prophesies did not come true. I don't know. But they fizzled out with a whimper, no blaze of gunfire or mass suicide luckily.

So it is not hard for me to believe that Lori would keep the information about the kids' whereabouts a tightly held secret and even be willing to sit in jail for a bit to protect that information. I can't imagine her time is pleasant but I suspect she is being protected. The last thing Kauai wants is for the world to see her in court a week from tomorrow with a black eye or cast.

But as others have said, all she has to do is get whoever is holding them to show them to the police and pretty much everything goes away. She still has the misdemeanors but they truly are minor. Even a short video of Tylee mentioning a current event would be enough to let the prosecutor know that while they have not fully complied with the court's demand, they CAN and his case would fall apart at some point. It's hard to believe he would continue to use limited resources to pursue her.

Some places are crowded. Others might go days without seeing anyone. Have the victim walk (aka hike) to the pool, grab a baseball bat (aka fallen down tree branch) and you're in business.
I guess thats possible. Im curious if there is an internet search history about those pools on any of their devices

Very unlikely. Risperidone is very hard to OD on apparently. Only one person has died from it in the US so far, and it's OD effects are pretty reversible. You'd have a better chance killing someone with aspirin or table salt.
Or tylenol. Large amount of acetaminophen could actually cause liver damage and result in death.

JJ was much smaller than Tylee and could fit, lets say, in a large tote.

Girl, I heard that. I just had jaw surgery two weeks ago and the idiots tried to give me hydrocodone (which has acetaminophen)... Which I can't have due to a drug interaction with another med I take, and risk to my liver. I asked for non acetaminophen containing pain pills and they wouldn't give me any... until my psychiatrist called the office and reamed the surgeon out for being irresponsible about drug interactions. In a week I go back for bone grafts and this time, I get oxy at a very low dose, and my liver will be fine.

Long story short, acetaminophen is no joke.

What makes you think that? I haven't heard anything said by FBI that they believe the kids are alive.

About LE, such as Rexburg PD and FBI, I am wondering why they waited until late December to publicly announce the missing children.

Also, for those that have followed these missing children cases, what kind of timeline might LE consider regarding the likelihood that the children are still alive? MOO
