Agreed. The .45 ACP is a big, heavy gun compared to a subcompact .380, 9mm or even .40 cal, and is difficult to conceal (assuming you're trying to conceal it, which is typical of those who carry for self defense). Anything smaller than .380 though, and you lose pretty significant stopping power. But you're right. It's a big gun.I am sure others are more qualified to answer but a .45 caliber? Where I come from it isn’t a typical pistol to carry for self-defense unless you are concerned about running into a bear. MOO
