Thanks all of you for covering the presser. Not at all the news any of us wanted to hear but sadly very much the news many of us expected to hear.
 
Several employers and companies are letting their employees off work to go search or just closing their doors for business today to go search.
 
Boise police: Missing boy may be victim of tragedy

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Boise police say an 8-year-old boy missing for a week may have been the victim of a tragic event, and that new evidence suggests suspicious activity surrounding his disappearance.

Robert Manwill reportedly disappeared July 24 after leaving his mother's apartment in southwest Boise. Investigators initially said they had no evidence of foul play.

But Deputy Chief Jim Kerns told reporters Friday that new evidence has changed the nature of the investigation. On Thursday, police searched the apartment of the boy's mother, Melissa Scott Jenkins.

So far, police say there are no arrests or suspects in the case

This case is so sad. I was really praying for a happy ending, but with all this new news it's looking more and more like that won't be the case.
 
Police have now brought a U-Haul to the apartment.

This is so sad. I think we could all see this coming from the very beginning of this case. Piece of work "Mom" and boyfriend will be arrested by the end of the day is my guess.

Showing a live shot of the U-Haul in the parking lot of the mother's apartment. It is a big one. A police officer did drive the U-Haul.
 
It's been almost a week, and it's been very hot here. :( I pray for the searchers and the police and anyone else helping out and of course the family.

A U-Haul? And a big one at that?? What the heck are they planning on taking away? I can't imagine right now.

Authorities say they they now believe Robert Manwill's disappearance is based on "suspicious circumstances."
Jim Kerns, Boise Police deputy police chief, said Friday Robert is still missing but he may be injured.

"Overnight, we located evidence that may bring us closer to finding out what happened to Robert," Kerns said at a Friday news conference. "The evidence we've uncovered shows there are suspicous circumstances regarding Robert's disappearance."

"He may be the victim of a tragic event."

Friday's massive volunteer search for the boy will continue.

For the first time, Boise Police admit missing 8-year-old boy Robert Manwill's disappearance is suspicious. At a press conference this afternoon, Deputy Chief Jim Kerns revealed police found evidence to indicate Robert may be injured or the victim of a tragic event. Police would not say what evidence they found.

Police showed up at the apartment complex on the Boise bench where Robert Manwill lives late last night and stayed until the early hours of this morning.

Police did tow away a car belonging to the family and removed several bags of items from the home. It's unclear exactly what was in the bags.

Today's developments did not stop the massive search for Robert Manwill. Hundreds of people responded to the public call for volunteers to help look for evidence.

Authorities are searching for a missing 8-year-old Boise boy - and have revealed that he may be injured or the victim of a tragic event.

As the search for little Robert Manwill continues, reports can reveal that his mother is on probation for fracturing the skull of the boy's infant brother.

The infant was removed from the custody of his mother, Melissa Scott Jenkins. Meanwhile, Robert has been missing for a week - and was last seen near Jenkins' apartment.

Robert has been living with his father, Charles Manwill, since 2008. HE was visiting with his mother, who has visitation rights, the night he went missing.

Authorities are saying that new evidence leads them to believe that Robert may be injured - or the victim of a tragic event. They would not release the details of the evidence found.

Volunteer workers are searching the area for any sign of the 8-year-old.

I have no idea. Furniture? I just know they are being very thourough. This is a very tight-knit community, and I have no doubt this crime will be solved and Robert will be found.
 
Was thinking they are cutting pieces of the wall or floor out.. (very sick thought)

Oh R-L, I have no doubt LE is doing everything the right way. Sounds like everyone has totally come together to try and find Robert. And that's the way it should be. It warmed my heart (and I don't live anywhere near you) to read that some local employers were letting people leave for the day to go search. That's a beautiful thing.

I just couldn't think of what could be so big they'd need a U-Haul to get it out but now I think Kaylynn may have nailed it. A bed.
