I am not ready to point fingers at LE. They have been very tight lipped in this case regarding the evidence they found early on... we just don't know if they REALLY ruled out the canal or if they did why they did.. I think they have done a great job in this case considering the degree to which they have been able to keep the lid on everything including people speaking to the media. The things the media have gotten are very, very minimal and so I think there is a lot of speculation going on for their part. Imhoo...

I am certainly not going to be pointing any fingers at LE. They have agonized over this case and searched endlessly. Over 2,000 searchers have also.

LE has to proceed with much more caution than we do. It seems that LE has focused the search in the immediate area where little Robert went missing from (as they should do).

The area where this body was located was a rural and isolated area as we can see from the map.

We just do not (as you stated) have very much information right now. But no one should blame LE right now, IMO.

They just said the boy had a blue shirt on, but did not see if Superman logo on it.

I feel so badly for the father. He was letting his little boy see his mother via visitation (I'm not even gonna comment on why she gets visitation) and this happens. Heartbreaking.

I hope this is him...as sad as that sounds, I hope it is.

LE said there are a lot of rumors and speculation going around...and finding blood at MJ's is just rumor at this time. I still hope he accidently drowned instead of being killed by his own mother...I know it is a lesser hope that the alternative, but I will hope nonetheless.. :praying:

Uh-oh ... my ears must be playing tricks on me. I could've sworn I heard him say that he was wearing the blue superman shirt.

I wonder IF I should edit my post above? I think I'll edit it, as questionable.

Thanks, Underdog!

Irrigation canals aren't exactly "flowing" and they are designed to trap floating debris to prevent disruption of pumps, etc. It's extremely unlikely this boy accidentally ended up in the canal, but an autopsy will quickly determine if he drowned. The fact that another boy hasn't been reported missing is somewhat telling. They also reported on HLN that there are a LOT of LE involved at the site.

Thank you for clearing that up for me, Kimster. I do not know why I was so under the impression that blood had been found in the apartment except that maybe I was just reading that into the evidence collected at the apartment.

Praying here also, Kimster!

I'll know a lot more about the canal and how deep it is later tonight from the people I work with in Kuna.
We float down Indian Creek a lot, which I think is part of the NY Canal system. In most parts of Indian Creek if you fall in, you simply stand up and water only goes up to your knees. I don't know about the canal, though.

Playing devils advocate here, if LE did indeed say they ruled out the canal, they must have had good reason to do so. That said, maybe someone moved the boy's body to the canal after hearing it had been ruled out as a search location?

Or perhaps LE simply said they had ruled out the canal in order to provide the perp with a false sense of security. I know they have been known to do just that.

I didn't have audio either. Might try one of the other stations?

You are very correct here. It appears that there are farms around here, a big reason you see irrigation canals, it's water run off for fields, and in my experience are not terribly deep.

Isn't it possible the perp/s weren't smart enough to know about the grates?
That is if it's Robert, but in my heart I know it's him.

To verify what someone else said what was said on HLN's they did say the boy had on a blue shirt, but that they didn't know if it had a logo on it or not from where they are located!

:praying: For Robert's Loved Ones!
