Lessee, so Hastert was hot to impeach President Clinton for lying under oath about a consensual sex act with a woman of legal age all the while knowing this gigantic skeleton occupied his own closet.

There are few things on earth I despise more than a hypocrite. So now he wants leniency because he's suffered so much public shame?

Intercourse that. His victims suffered far worse. He deserves whatever our legal system can mete out.

And...the plot sickens.

Another wrestler allegedly told investigators that Hastert molested him too, when he was 14 years old. Identified as Individual B, the witness said when he and Hastert were alone in a locker room, Hastert told him to get on a table for a massage to "loosen him up," but instead Hastert "performed a sexual act on Individual B," the filing says.

Hastert allegedly used the same trick on another former wrestler, then 17 years old, identified as Individual D, who was also the object of sexual acts by Hastert.

Lessee, Hastert went after Clinton for his "inability to abide by the law." For lying about a consensual relationship with a woman who was not a minor.

I don't remember my Dante but I really hope the 8th circle (fraud) encompasses Hastert.

Well, isn't this sweet.

Mr. Hastert acknowledges that as a young man he committed transgressions

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/denn...gressions-apologizes-lawyer/story?id=38282160

A "young man" of nearly 30, that is, according to the account linked below. He was born in 1942 so in 1970 he would have been 28. Old enough to know better.

And hey, transgressions? Really? For people who aren't politically powerful, they are referred to as CRIMES.

STOP WITH THE SUGARCOATING. JUST STOP.:maddening:

He's a criminal who committed sordid crimes and he should be punished as such. OTHER PEOPLE don't get to simply apologize and be set free because they've suffered enough "public shame." Jerry Sandusky would LOVE to have some of that corrective action.

This whole story makes me so :furious:

''DeLay, a Texas Republican, recalled in his letter that Hastert started a Wednesday Bible study that the two men took part in.

"So I know his heart and have seen it up close and personal," DeLay wrote. "We all have our flaws, but Dennis Hastert has very few. He is a good man that loves the lord. He gets his integrity and values from Him. He doesn't deserve what he is going through. I ask that you consider the man that is before you and give him leniency where you can."

I don't know what to say ............

ETA Well yes I do ....... if you have only one fault in your entire being and that one fault is molesting children, then you're a big , fat and yes you DO deserve what you're going through. In fact, you deserve much , much worse than having bible studies and getting three meals a day and being safe and protected !

Ditto. All the minimizing being done by Hastert and his supporters makes me want to :puke:

I can't believe he just stopped molesting young boys once he was elected to Congress. Child molesters don't behave that way. There should be a full investigation of his sex life after he arrived in DC.
