It is just a crying shame that two more precious children have gone down. Lost forever. At least one was at risk, but no one stepped up to the plate to protect her. Obviously he had a rage problem, who knows if drugs or alcohol were involved; no he should not have been in the home. Usually it's the wife who's at risk.

The only pics I've seen are of the 2 little girls and their friend's father pointing to the garage doors. By all accounts, this is going to be an hugely emotional case and trial ~ and I don't mean to infer other victims & trials are less emotional or less serious in nature.
But TWO helpless, harmless, little girls; best friends and one is his daughter? NECK-STABBING? Shows rage, rage, uncontrollable RAGE!
Of course, packerdog ... he went and found them because he must have realized that either his footprints, pollen, foilage, soil (etc) could be traced back to him. Perhaps there is blood on the clothes he was wearing. Ugh!
Sauerkraut, you may just be right regarding the 2nd little girl being in the wrong place at the wrong time! Just terrible. They were *both* on bikes and seen riding around the area. One bike found, one bike missing. The most harrowing thought I have is: DID one of these two little girls try to escape and was brought back to her friend?
Too many Q's ... Where's the other bike? Did the father leave the hosue and search for them carrying a knife? Was he under the control of drugs, alcohol ... or ? Why did the mom let a chainsaw-raged fanatic back into their lives? Endless list behind 2 young, ended lives.....

Uh, OK. He looks very mean. Also pretty young. If I saw him in the grocery store, I would move quickly over to the meat section and stand by one of those big guys with the butcher knife.

Yes Marthatex, I've just whipped through the links posted by others (thanks, all!) and I agree, this 'father' looks young and mean ~ perhaps because of his hair, esp as he's right out of prison. He's had assault charges against him since 1990! Plus prison time *AND* drug-related records!
If this is true then he's a total out and out loser who's spent the majority of his life bullying, attacking and (it seems) he has now gone on and killed 2 sweet little girls, including his own daughter.

I can't either, PSA. I really don't think any of us can or will ever be able to understand this. I would also like to say that chasing someone around with a chainsaw sounds a bit more serious than aggravated assault. Perhaps attempted murder?! Wondering, now, if there was any previous abuse going one? Had he been violent to his daughter before?

First time I saw a pic of Laura Hobbs, I looked at that little face and that look she has and thought, that little girl has been through some chit! She has knowledge of more bad things in life than good. Her eyes are distant and guarded. jmo
