The FBI is now offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the location of Ms. Zhang.

Investigators from the University of Illinois Police Department, the Illinois State Police and the FBI continue to move forward with the investigation, but information from the public remains an important part of the case.


Law enforcement and university officials on Saturday also met with Ms. Zhang’s family, who arrived in Champaign-Urbana. Accommodations have been made for them to stay on campus while the search continues.

Member of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association said the family is doing their best to hold it together.

"Everybody is really concerned, and the whole environment is really sad. All I can say is right now they're doing much better because they know the environment and the situation better. They're having more confidence about this."

Zhang's father, a taxi driver in China, said he hasn't been able to sleep since Zhang's disappearance, and he doesn't plan to leave the country until he finds her.

Yingying's father is a taxi driver in China, per the link I just posted. I have no idea if that would affect Yingying's perception or knowledge of taxis or rideshare companies in the US, but it makes me wonder. Maybe seeing a car pull up to the curb out of nowhere would have seemed normal to her if she grew up with a father who drives taxis.

Zhang’s father, aunt and boyfriend arrived from China Saturday to assist with the search.

Mr. Zhang said he has not been able to sleep this entire week. He added that the best Father’s Day gift would be to find his daughter safe.

This is the first time Mr. Zhang has left China. He said he doesn’t plan to leave the U.S. until he finds his daughter.

He's tall. He has a long face. He seems to be wearing a maroon shirt with no sleeves. I bet he's in his late 20s-early 30s.

Was any of that type of car advertised on Craigslist recently?

It is horrible when anyone's child is missing but could you imagine being in a foreign land and trying to look for your child. Prayers she is found soon and safe!

how many others has he successfully abducted? serial predator IMO

It's crazy to me that they haven't identified and arrested this guy yet, with such good surveillance footage and so many experts working on this case. Hopefully there's been a lot of progress behind the scenes. If she is still alive, time is very much of the essence here. :(

4. at 52", perp started moving car, by that time, I believe she was already on the floor of passenger side
5. at 1:00, we can't see her on passenger seat, and the perp was looking down.

6. so I believe that perp knocked her out between 47" to 52", and he had plan on how to knock people out quickly, probably he got some kind of training or he is not first time to do this.
7. driving from that bus station to one north only takes about 3 minutes(by google map), to control an adult while driving is impossibe, specially on a two-lane road like that with traffic. I think perp knows that.
8. to convince a chinese girl to get into his car is not easy, I think he is clean, well trimmed, short hair by picture, smiling and convincing facial, no any visible tatoo, fit, and a normal person by first impression.

Good work! Although this does not look good for her. I wonder what her impression was of the USA or what she had been told. She probably didn't see many handguns in China and what few she saw were carried by military or police. If this guy was impersonating LE she was probably scared after getting in the vehicle, too much so to try to leave.
 
Ugh! If Yingying was picked up at W Clark Street and N. Godwin Avenue (I believe I got that right) the driver is 5 minutes from I-74 and looking at Google Maps it doesn't take long to be in rural Illinois if you take I-74 East.
