There is that and the grace shown by YY's family, her dad shaking hands with defense attorney, this evening, for example...
Then again, recall all BC told TB about himself, recall his convos with his facebook gf... he was not close to his family... he didn't like them much and they had little time for him was his narrative...

Later we hear a recorded call between BC and his wife while he was in jail in summer 2017. He talks about the recording Bullis made. "Think of what the news is going to do with that," he says, speaking of it being played during his trial. "I'm not gonna look good." @AE

BC asserts his innocence in recorded calls to his wife and parents, calling the accusations "political". "If she was dead anywhere near Champaign-Urbana, we would know about it by now." @WCIA3

On June 19th, 2019 (you read that right), call between BC and his ex-wife was recorded. It was the day Terra Bullis was scheduled to testify. "I hope she *advertiser censored**ing passes out up there," MZ says, "...and has to be carried out of the courtroom on a stretcher unconscious." @WCIA3

That would be abysmally pathetic reasoning on that juror's part.

Yes, there would be more parental loss -after another 15+ years of appeals at least, and indefinitely until they can start up with federal executions again. BC's parents would have plenty of "quality time" with him over the years. It will be a very, very long goodbye; unlike Yingying's parents, who never knew the last goodbye they said to her was the last goodbye forever, and that her remains might never be found.

With more and more revealed about Michelle's attitude toward this whole investigation and the nature of her ongoing support for BC, something dawned upon me. Not long ago, the executor for Yingying Zhang's estate in the US brought a wrongful death suit in federal civil court against BC and two social workers at the UICC. I don't exactly know what kind of liabilities a spouse would be exposed to if her husband is sued for wrongful death, but if they have joint property/accounts, my guess is that a spouse would be at risk for financial loss should her husband be found to be liable and have financial penalties levied against him. IF this is the case, then I really wonder if one of the major reasons for their divorce is not so much what BC did to YY, but to protect herself financially from any damages that may be awarded to YY's family from BC's estate..........

Wednesday, July 10th:
*Penalty Phase of Trial continues (Day 3) (@ 9:30am @ CT) - IL - Yingying Zhang (26) (missing on June 9, 2017, Urbana; not found) - *Brendt A. Christensen (28) indicted (6/30/17) on kidnapping (Federal charge) resulting in death of Yingying & 2 counts of giving false statements to FBI. Plead not guilty. Held without bond. DA will seek DP.
Trial started 6/3/19 with jury selection & took until 6/11/19 to pick a jury. 12 jurors & 6 alternates. (7 men & 5 women). Trial ended 6/24/19. Jurors reached a verdict in less than 2 hours. Christensen was found GUILTY of kidnapping resulting in the death of Yingying Zhang. Also found GUILTY on two counts of making false statements to the FBI. Penalty Phase started on 7/8.

Video clips shown of BC's interview where he lies to FBI. Yingying's younger brother. Video of Ms. Zhang's mother, Lifeng Ye. Ronggao Zhang, Yingying's father. A female juror stood and walked out of court this afternoon while listening to emotional testimony from Yingying Zhang's mother. Judge James Shadid immediately called for a brief recess to let the juror collect herself. FBI Agent Andrew Huckstadt. Also played various jail phone calls of Christensen telling his wife July 2, 2017, his mother & father. Penalty phase continues on 7/10.

I really felt sorry for her way back, all the years she'd worked and kept him financially. She's as much of a liar than BC is. I'm wondering how much did she know and from when. In my eyes she gave him encouragement. Did she go away that weekend knowing what BC was hoping to do?

I really struggled yesterday, YYs mum and dad got to me and that poor Juror. If I were on the Jury, I'd have been in tears too knowing that the dreams of becoming a grandma will never be.

I would think the 'financial state of BC's estate etc will be calculated at time of event.
Otherwise, he/she can move monies, get divorced, sell items to avoid losses due to Court Actions.

BC was carrying on an affair with the facebook friend since 2016, well before Michelle reportedly settled for an open marriage instead of divorce.


She was about to divorce him for his drinking problems... this we know... lets not add legs to hens just yet...
She has had a new partner for quite some time and as far as I know they are co-habitating in another state, not that that has anything to do with anything.

The defense intend presenting more tapes, at least one more tape of her convo with BC, the judge alluded to that yesterday, a 'less nasty tape'.
It is also possible she said what she said to keep him calmed down.
She did appear to share a pretty good friendship with TB.
They got on well together and TB was anxious to observe the BDSM protocols of courtesy towards other's partner.
That has all been presented in evidence already.
Let's not rewrite the evidence, yet...

HOWEVER, if she lied about wet carpets when she returned from her weekend away, then she is very much guilty and accessory. IF.

I'm just not sure yet.

mistrial request.. lost track of how many, possibly at 10 at this stage. this based on juror being upset, though yeterday all parties agreed she could continue.
