Welcome back to the Delphi Murders discussion thread.

On the afternoon of Feb. 13th, 2017, best friends Abigail Williams and Liberty German were dropped off at a bridge in the town of Delphi. On Feb 14th their bodies were discovered around noon about 50 feet from the north bank of Deer Creek which is about 0.5 miles from the bridge.
The Sheriff's office gave a press conference on 4/22/19 and we have some solid information. Please take a look below

Gray Hughes has obtained Richard Allen’s voice from social media that we would not normally approve, so here’s how we are going to handle this. This is really a Gray area (yeah, I said that )

Obviously as RA is the accused, his voice is of great interest to all, and we would not be relevant in the true crime community if we disallowed it when it is so highly relevant.

After discussion with Tricia, the decision is that we will allow members to fully discuss the voice as heard on Gray’s podcast.

We will NOT allow direct linking to the wife’s social media accounts.

I recently looked at the pool hall video of Richard Allen. At one point in it he is wearing a beige colored beenie in the video of him playing pool. There looks like a white seam that goes down the top of the beanie. Then I looked at the bridge guy video and I could see the same white seam image on that hat so maybe that is Richard Allen on the Liberty German video? I could slightly see Richard Allen's face in the cheek jawbone structure too when he is looking down on the video.

In my opinion I thought Richard Allen might be wearing a Swiss army type wool hat that covers the ears. That is the type of hat I see in the video. I looked that up and unfortunately, I see the same type of seam that could appear lighter with sunlight reflecting off it.

All my questions are based off what I see in the video. In this case, the video really threw me off.

So this murder-fantisizing guy just went on one of his routine hunting hikes, carrying his gun and knife, his face covered, and stood out on the bridge platform watching fish, just hoping he'd come across a victim, even though he's lived in the area over 40 years and never before found the right time to murder someone, but that day he found two teenagers and decided it was the right time, even though he had already been seen by at least three witnesses earlier on the trail and was far away from his vehicle?

And, overpowering two teenagers as his first?

If a plea deal is reached and we never hear the whole story that is okay, the families dont need drama. Put the guilty away and leave the families to grieve. I certainly dont understand why the CCSO did some of the things they did but that does not change where we are now. Thats what makes me think there are other chapters of this story we may never know.

I totally agree but he can’t hide behind that lie forever just ask Leticia Stauch and Lori Vallow, like karma justice will usually find you.

My main issue with KK’s involvement is that he didn’t seek a deal in the other case, which provides for significant time in prison- he attempted to implicate Dad and former roommate why not RA?

Just a conjecture mixing the opportunism and reason to have means (gun) with him, as well as a maudlin lowering of inhibition:

MOO he had had some to drink and was angry . He might have been thinking if suicide, and switched up from self to others when easy victims walking directly into isolation showed up.

The word "incriminating" was used to describe the confession statements given by Richard Allen. But no one know what that means until what Richard Allen said is revealed at the trial.

The blue jacket is very important. With it being described as a bloody crime scene, maybe there was DNA evidence found of the jacket he still has. Or maybe he bought a new blue Carharrt jacket?

One thing I thought was sort of strange about the PCA was that it said a vehicle matching Richard Allen's was captured on video arriving in the area around the time Richard Allen said he arrived. But I could not find where it said in the PCA that it was captured leaving on video. Maybe Richard Allen took a different way home after the crime or went to a dumpster to dispose of evidence like the blue jacket after the crime?

I am sure that in his police interview LE asked him where he went after the crime. He must have went in the opposite direction for some reason. His car may have a lot of evidence in it. If he was muddy and bloody there might be transfer evidence on his driver's seat that proves his guilt.

It will be interesting to see what other evidence LE had against Richard Allen when they made the arrest. With a confession though it might not matter.

He got videoed at Harvestore going west on 300. His house is west across i25.
Wonder what he was doing to the east? Drinking is my guess. Beers in Flora? Or?

The crime scene is not easy to see. The area betweeen the cemetary and creek was a old gravel quarry creating two latge berms.

Maybe someone very familiar with the bridge chose that exact crime scene precisely because he knew it to be hidden, especially from the bridge and foot traffic.
