Here is a picture of the fanny Pack I located by googling. The triangle shaped logo could be that dark spot seen on the suspect. My ex brother-in-law carried his gun on him in a fanny pack which really got me thinking when I saw the picture. Geocaching.org also sells a brown hip pack for folks to carry their geo accessories while adventuring. Looked very similar.

Sometimes I think it looks like a hand warmer like if he'd been out hunting that morning

I am lurking. There are some great posters here.
I cannot get involved with the minutia.

However, I looked at youtube. I found 2 great videos.

The first turns out is a member here. He/she posted it himself.

Many thanks for your hard work and perspective, which really helped me. Bravo.

I have a rail trail here where I live. I have walked it and rode my bike. Now thinking back, I was a dope for doing that alone.

I also rode a rail trail with a friend Upstate NY. Guess what? She got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere.
I had a pump, it didn't work. Trail patrol guy came along. Very fit retired guy. I had to trust him, no other choice.

He escorted me back to my car, so I could go back to my friend to retrieve her and her bike. Many miles btw.
He was a volunteer, retired. I drove back while my friend waited for me. It turned out well. Never assume.

thank you, thank you! As far as we know, this is the most current/likely locations of that day's events?
This map is very helpful, esp. with the position of the POI. Boy, that is a long way up to the north end of the bridge, esp. if pointing a weapon at two girls and trying to keep both them and the underlying rotten wooden ties in your eyesight at the same time. The footing on that bridge is so treacherous, the girls must have been forced to keep their eyes down on the wood just to get to one end of it.

Hi All,

I'm still back in 12 desperately trying to read "most" of the post so I don't go over what has already been said; however, it seems to happen any how.

Now a poster mentioned she thought it was a rope that was sticking out of his coat up top, I also have been thinking that to be the case. It then dawned on me that if it was in fact a rope, this would be the way he could keep them together without one running off. .... what do you think?

That it's more likely a hoodie string...

(I hate that we call him bridge guy. He is much more than just a guy on the bridge, he is the main suspect in two child homicides. Jmo. Again, it's confusing because it sounds like we are referring to a specific known person with a first and last name, like TK, JW, MR, JLM, RAT, MJK...and as I already posted so confusing for new members.)
I thought it meant bad guy at first 😂

Maybe BM would be more appropriate. (Bridge Monster......or the other thing)

Maybe, I think it's something less scary.

The guy approached them on the bridge, imo, and they went with him off the bridge. I personally don't think he was forcing them at that moment. I think the encounter started friendly enough, though perhaps awkward to the girls. I really do think he was offering to help them find a geocache or offering to show them the way to a path.

I don't think he would approach them with a rope showing.

Of course, that is jmopinion, subject, as always, to change.

Sort of off topic, or at least not meaningful, but when my daughter saw his pictures, she said, "So he's wearing a shirt with a big question mark on it?"

I'm pretty sure I spit out my coffee. Perception.

He definitely has something in the front of his jacket, look how it is pulling down off his left shoulder.

Bumping!!!

The second one is also great. Excellent. Non-biased summary. Great for those with questions IMHO.
It's long, take your time.

Yep...Restraining the victim(s) is usually part of their, uh, activities.

I mentioned upstream I also think it's likely he had one of the girls tie up the other. :(

Watch from a poster here.

As far as the suspect walking with his hands in his pockets: IMO it's possible that at the time that video was taken he had already decided to harm the girls. He was wearing gloves as a forensic counter measure, and he was hiding that from them so they wouldn't immediately become suspicious. Granted, it was chilly enough where someone wearing gloves probably wouldn't have raised a red flag for the girls so I'm probably overthinking it. However, gloves would explain why (presumably) no finger prints were found at the crime scene (I don't know if any were found). I also believe that he was carrying a gun on his right side. Perhaps he had another weapon or tool in his left pocket. Or really, his hands are just cold. Or he's too lazy to swing his arms. Lots of explanations, and truthfully none of it matters. The end result is the same. :( I feel truly heartbroken today.

In thread #12 cindersoot asked if horses are allowed on the Delphi Historic Trails. I did not find that it was acceptable to ride horses on the trails. That doesn't mean that riders don't sneak in but there is no horse camp and I did not find a designated area to park horse trailer.
This link states the uses for the trails
