Anyone else curious why LE said the voice may not be BGs? I believe a few of us read that and not to be repetitive but, maybe they hid and the recorded voice didn't show BG saying the words because he possible told an inaudible voiced person where the girls ran? Just speculating and IMO
Seems like LE must think someone else may have been there or they just said that because they can't see BG when they hear the audio.

i believe it was libby's sister..the same one who dropped them off.. will have to hunt for exact ref but I think thats what i read from a fellow poster on this site

I remember reading at the beginning that the sister dropped off the girls.

I just want to say one thing that I have not read multiple times. It is important to realize just why RL was on probation - his original probation should have ended months ago, but he violated it, and the courts gave him yet another chance by not incarcerating him, and just extending the terms of his probation. So you all see, not only has he been convicted of multiple DUIs, he has also violated his proabation multiple times. I think the courts ran out of chances (or f's) to give...

I'm pretty sure that the only reason the voice is not 100% connected to the suspect is because he is not filmed talking - can't see he lips moving, but I think it's very likely that the audio does belong to the man in the still image.

I may be alone in this, but that comment totally rubs me the wrong way. I feel as though he is blaming his incarceration on the girls' murders. Like, well, if it weren't for them getting killed then I wouldn't be in jail! No, dude, you got arrested because you broke the law. Yes, LE might have scrutinized you MORE because of their deaths but the fact remains that you STILL violated probation.

I don't know how I feel about RL. I don't lean one way or the other. I think he resembles BG but I can also see how he doesn't. I think that even if he's not directly involved, he could still know something. I am leaving all my options open at this point, content with the fact that the more I find out, the less I know.

Still...I don't like that comment. Yes, maybe in the future there won't be anymore dead bodies found on or near your property. And maybe in the future you'll think more closely about your actions and the consequences they hold. (IMO, JMO, MOO, etc.)

Definitely would have been the perfect time to show remorse for his actions and to say that he was sorry that his actions and statements that he made took LE focus away from finding these girls murderers. Missed a golden opportunity to take the focus off of himself. Instead his statements to me showed no remorse and instead only appears that he was only sorry bc he got caught breaking the law. I haven't seen any evidence that leads me to believe that he was involved in the crime committed against the girls(at this point) although LE may feel differently. But I don't feel sorry for RL and I don't feel that he has regret for drinking and driving and not following his probation stipulations. I believe he only regrets getting caught. MOO

His statement raised my level of anxiety concerning his involvement; I wonder how the town folks are feeling about it?

Why do you feel pretty sure on that? Just curious.

The suspect is filmed from quite a distance away. If there was a second person, that person should also have been in the video from that distance. The suspect approaches the girls and tells them to go "down the hill" - calm, controlled, authoritative.

squinting as I read this....trying real hard to see in between the lines

:seeya: let me know what it says because I've given up trying to read between and squinting makes my head hurt worse! These are the same inconsitent comments.

What I wonder!?! is they do not attach suspect label to him, what label do they 'behind their hands' give him? MOO, of course!

Give us a few more frames of video (with audio) enough that we can see BG walking, my fervent opinion.

Let me try and clear this up for you.

Always remember hardly anything on Websleuths is Black and White. Websleuths has lots of gray areas.

Rarely do police ever say someone is a suspect unless it is obvious like Bridge Guy.

What we have to do in certain cases is use our common sense.

Why did the police get a search warrant for RL the land owner where Abby and Libby's bodies were found?

Why did the police violate his parole? If someone could find a link verifying this. I will retract if I am incorrect.

Why was RL given over three years in prison for driving convictions?

Didn't the police say he was not cooperating? You have to wonder if there is a deal to be made with RL if he cooperates.

Is there anyone else the police are looking into that has anything close to the connection to the case like RL other than BG?

To get a search warrant for his house police needed probable cause.

As the owner of Websleuths, it is up to me to make these decisions about who can be discussed and who can't. I do so by following the Websleuths guidelines along with discussing among the mods and using common sense.

Here is another good example. The murder of Dr. Teresa Sievers.

Her husband Mark wasn't ever pointed out as a suspect until shortly before he was arrested. However, his behavior made it obvious he was hiding something. This is why early on Websleuths allowed Mark Sievers to be discussed as a suspect. Same with his friend Wayne.

We take each case on its merits.

In this case, because the police had probable cause for a search warrant members can sleuth RL ONLY. Not his family, not his friends. Also, we have stated over and over no one is saying he is guilty. If someone calls him a murderer please alert and we will remove.

So when a member feels like a guy that used to date Abby or Libby's mom kind of looks like BG and wants to sleuth him we say absolutely not.

RL owned the land the bodies were found on. We did not allow sleuthing him at this point at all. It was only when the police served the search warrant did we allow members to sleuth.

Police have said he is not a suspect. They said this before, during, and after the search warrant of RL's home.

You have to use common sense and go by what police have done in the past to make these decisions.

One more thing, we only allow the initials of RL. Why? So when someone Googles his name Websleuths won't come up.

However, you go to all the other sites on the Internet, and they are tearing RL apart, using his real name and sleuthing God knows what about his past.

At Websleuths we do our best to balance between letting you discuss and being sensitive to people's situations.

You will not find any other forum on the Internet that works harder than we do to be as fair as possible.

Remember, if it too much for you and you feel it's wrong no one is forcing you to stay.

Thank you,
Tricia

Bump thx Tricia

I am throwing my hat in the ring with others that have expressed a similar opinion, but that comment totally rubs me the wrong way. I take RL's comment to mean that he now believes he knows who BG is and is helping LE to make sure this person is convicted which will help ensure no more murders occur in his back yard.

Am I reading this correctly? "Investigators are awaiting DNA test lab results being conducted by the FBI to conclusively link that suspect to the murders." Does this confirm that they do have DNA from the BG?
Sounds like they may have him on their radar but need confirmation of DNA. Maybe it's someone whose DNA wasn't on file but is a sex offender and they had to get a sample from him through random testing by his Parole Officer. Just moo
