In one of the first press conferences, the police called Liberty a hero for having the presence of mind to turn on her phone's camera to record criminal behavior about to begin. Or words to that effect. So it would appear one or both of the girls were suspicious or afraid. JMO.

Makes sense. I just can't picture them stopping for a selfie video (like Snapchat or something) as a ruse to get his picture. I do think they started recording at some point when they were suspicious, but maybe not at that point. Who knows? The end result is the same. [emoji853]

RL as the "new" person with information makes a lot of sense to me, so does the possibility RL picked this person up hitch hiking when he shouldn't have been behind the wheel at all.
I have often wondered what LE meant when they said RL wasn't cooperating with them and I personally think this could be why.
I think RL lied to LE then he lied to the media and told the world he knew nothing about the girls going missing when he knew for a fact there was a man matching that description in the area because he had picked him up that afternoon and given him a lift back to town or to a nearby town.
If RL knew there was a chance he might get charged and go to prison for admitting to driving disqualified perhaps he decided to keep quiet in the hope it would all just go away, which obviously didn't happen.
I don't really know but that scenario makes sense to me particularly if you consider it might have taken RL a while to calm down and get over his own predicament but has now come to his senses and helped LE with a description.

And he wouldn't be afraid to come forward about the driving when he wasn't supposed cause all he would have to do is say he has information on the suspect and that he would give detectives all information they need and fully cooperate in return for no charges filed against him. No way would he be in prison now if he had information on this case.

I am not so sure. I think LE said they had made around 20 arrests on outstanding warrants due to this case. We obviously don't know who they all were. RL did not take the opportunity of bail and I have always wondered why, plus the high security and bulletproof vests when escorting him to and fro always seemed excessive but now I'm not so sure. Even the 3 years in jail seemed OTT to me rather than an ankle bracelet but perhaps his life was/is in danger. I really don't know but would not rule it out. JMO.

Wait, i just thought of something, CAN you take an actual VIDEO with the front/ selfie camera?, my phone only does still photos in that mode.

Many smartphones allow you to make video calls so the front camera would have to be able to do that. That said, this is one of the reasons it would help to know the exact model of the phone Libby had with her. Also, just because she took the video over her shoulder (if that is true, considering this same station had to walk back the DNA report) doesn't mean it had to be the front camera.

Very informative posts. I literally have not been sleeping to look at google images to find suspect. Googling jobs in area, other pics. This is haunting. One thing I did not do was concentrate on DUI arrests but after these recent posts, I will. They may have a record with a pic but maybe no DNA on file?? Also, posts about the eyes were helpful. We can all make those hooded eyes by making a scowl, a mad face. Are droopy eyelids genetic? Or can they come from life, like smile lines? Never thought about a drinker, but many people turn to drink when they have to deal with problems, not just problems that are external. Often, there is a history of alcoholism in the family. Would AA groups be open to ?s or is that all privileged info? Love the sketch, good work there!!

I think they are talking about the groups that have put real pictures of men who look like the sketch on places like Facebook groups.

Curious if anyone has read about this case (link attached)? I've been looking through prior court records, etc., trying to find similar situations to Delphi's. I found a write up (can't post reams of court docs) regarding the murder and find it really odd. Prosecution ended up messed up with pleas and all kinds of deals that turned south. Long story short no one is in jail for the murder - 3 involved. It's a hard read regarding a teen shot near Kokomo, IN. Now, there are drugs involved in this case (so don't imply that's my angle at all) and it just seems off to me and setting is somewhat similar. MO may be different, but Killers evolve, etc. I guess take a look. Theres was a sketch of a man wanted in NY. It looked like he was fourtyish. He was arrested. He was only twenty yrs.

I agree that could be the case, but that sketch combined with his voice (sounded like a middle aged man) and the video lead me to believe he is in his 40's, probably early 40's. JMO

To me, they're not so much saying that we can't sleuth as that they don't want us to post those side-by-side shots or put ourselves in a situation where defamation might be an issue.

BBM - yes droopy eyelids can be genetic

LE has not given any information to look for someone with an alcohol issue so I'm going to assume if any part of the face was so distinguishable as to diagnose something, it would be a clue and thus mentioned. (For ex. rosacea, acne, scar, etc).

As an aside, I sure as heck hope AA groups aren't open to people looking for information on another person. The Anonymous part really should be what it says.

I can see a middle aged man here. From the sketch. But I just believe this isn't the first time this guy has committed a felony. It might be his first murder, but I'll bet if it is he had assaulted women or children in the past or molested children. I know it has happened many times before, but I have hard time believing he has been under the radar till he was in his late 30's to mid-40's. I've always suspected BG was in his early to mid 20's based on what happened before this sketch came out.

I highly doubt that it would be criminal behavior/probation violation. Cause they would easily have the arrest/ probation violation thrown out in return for information on the suspect, unless they were wanted for murder or something serious. But just say they were driving under suspension and picked up the guy as a hitchhiker the DA wouldn't charge him in return for his help in this case It happens all the time when someone is wanted and/or already charged with a crime and they help out on a more important serious case that their charge or warrant would be thrown out.

Then, poor Rl can be taken off the hook for being the one who gave LE an description.
