The murder solve rate in the US is only something like 60%. So it is quite possible this case won't be solved.
I agree. No alibi, no rule out. Too many things still fit, the limp, the witness sketch, the height and southern accent, RSO, homeless at the time, propensity for trails, parks, rail roads and bridges, travels to commit offences, avoiding arrest numerous times, anger issues, DV, hatchet menacing, access to a gun, drug user, ex military. An absence of direct evidence is reason to drop him lower on the list of POIs, but not a rule out.
A rule out would be an airtight alibi.

Yup. Reddish brown hair, not blue eyes, far apart eye, large nose, short chin. Too much fits.
But can they prove DN had the means, motive and opportunity?
In U.S. criminal law, means, motive, and opportunity is a common summation of the three aspects of a crime that must be established before guilt can possibly be determined in a criminal proceeding. Respectively, they refer to: the ability of the defendant to commit the crime (means), the reason the defendant committed the crime (motive), and whether the defendant had the chance to commit the crime (opportunity). Opportunity is most often disproved by use of an alibi, which can prove the accused was not able to commit the crime as he or she did not have the correct set of circumstances to commit the crime as it occurred. Some crimes are motiveless, however proving motive can often make it easier to convince a jury of the elements that must be proven for a conviction.
I’m perplexed by the mention of DN’s limp, yet he was a Marine. I always assumed that to be in the military one had to be in perfect shape.
According to KN it is due to one leg being shorter than the other, whether from birth or an injury we don't know. He could have been injured in Kuwait. (His lawyer said in court he served in Kuwait. )The limp could be due to an injury gained after he left the Marines (or during his time).

the world is full of cold cases, sadly,
I don't believe he's dead, maybe if we were waiting years and not a clue, not another killing, poi's have passed on and there isn't a whisper or a clue from any person who might know any thing.
but it's been less than a year. I would be less inclined maybe by an inch or so to appoint DN as BG if KN had not delivered so many flat out whoppers concerning the ..
day the girls went missing
his hatchets
his gun
his driving
her ultra sound
etc.
so Im going to stay on him. MOO
Does anyone think the families of the girls have been extra quiet since DN was arrested? Maybe they have been told that LE is close to making an arrest.jmo
The question was about BG, not DN...???1. DN signed in as homeless
2. DN is ex-military with a dishonorable dishcharge
3. DN is a RSO and was required to report weekly due to his being homeless
4. DN has a drawl per KN
5. DN has been cited and arrested on more than one occasion with drugs and drug parephanelia
6. DN is known to have had access to a gun (at least in CO)
7. DN is known to have owned and used and threatened people with hatchets.
The question was about BG, not DN...???

Do we know the family is no longer printing and sending fliers?Exactly what I was just thinking. There was the big push by the family to mail out fliers all around the country that seemed to go quiet as soon as DN was arrested.

I don't know. How can we find out? Does anyone remember how they where getting the word out across the country for people to request fliers to be mailed to them?
No he hasn't been charged with anything to do with either the Delphi murders or the Colorado cyclist's murder. Just charges concerning weapons possession, menacing, trespassing and failing to register in Co ATM.I have not been active on this board in a few months. I find it incredibly hard to find stuff and there are so many threads and posts on a topic it drives me crazy.
What Is the latest here can someone fill me in? They arrested a guy in CO who was in IN the time the girls were killed. Has he been charged with this case?
I'm baffled at the incredibly slow pace this investigation is going.
