I believe he works at a paving company, listed on his FB page.

I guess it's safe to assume he's not been at work lately? lol

Amber is unemployed so are we to assume he's been paying the babysitter when needed and/or funding whatever it is they have been doing which requires the need for a babysitter?

Has the babysitter been referred to as simply "babysitter" in an attempt by the press to keep that person's name out as much as possible or is that person referred to as "babysitter" because they did a fair/regular amount of babysitting Amiah?

Timeline:

Saturday, March 9: Amiah Last Seen

“But the last time police have confirmed that she was seen alive was at 1:15 p.m. March 9, when Lyons had her in a residence in the 200 block of S. Holmes Avenue on the city's west side.”

“During a press conference Saturday (March 23, 2019), police say Amiah was last seen with the boyfriend of the baby’s mother, Robert Lyons, around 1:15 p.m. March 9. Lyons is said to have spent the day in the area of Rockville and Mickley. Lyons then returned to the mother’s home at roughly 10 p.m. that night without Amiah.

““If you live in that area I would ask that you try to remember if you saw anything suspicious. If you saw Robert or Amiah, or this truck," IMPD Detective Jean Burkett said.”

Police say Lyons was last seen driving a maroon 1996 Isuzu Rodeo.“

F) Amber says she went to this location on Wednesday, found items, and called the tip in herself to police:

“Wednesday, police searched an area on the west side after getting a tip close to the investigation. That tip brought them to the banks of the White River near McCarty and Sadie Streets.

Baby Amiah's mom, Amber Robertson, told Eyewitness News she's the one who called it in to police.

"All I can do is sit and think of things that my daughter loves," said Robertson, who said she's had more on her mind, like trying to remember past conversations with her boyfriend, who she said was supposed to take 8-month-old Amiah to the babysitter's last Thursday, but never got there.

"Robert, a long time ago, told me about 1907. That it was somewhere where he and his friends used to hang around and he drove me by here one time," said Robertson.

So she went back there Wednesday afternoon.

That's where she says she found items that belonged to her daughter and boyfriend, so she called 911. The call brought out IMPD and IFD's dive team to collect possible evidence.

"They discovered some items that could be related to the case, however that is not conclusive at this time," said IMPD Sgt. Jim Gillespie.“

There's a lot of motel going on in this case. People working at a motel. There was a "date" at a motel. At least one of the photos of baby in MSM was taken at a motel. Retention pond searched behind a motel. Hmm... JMO!

(Edited a bit to make sure I stick to the rules.)

You guys. I'm here in Indy. I don't wish to besmirch IMPD in any way whatsoever but I do feel it is not likely that they are doing surveillance or following the ex-bf since his release. JMO. Sorry, I'm still having trouble with all the initials. IMPD is overwhelmed. I just do not believe they have the resources to dedicate to this case that we would like to see or hope for. For example, yesterday evening a mother with her 8 year old daughter arrived at a fire station with the little girl shot. The little girl passed away and today they are looking for her father. It is always something here. That said, they do seem to be putting a lot of effort in currently but I'm not sure how long that will be able to continue given the new murders practically each day. This isn't like a smaller town with one big crime happening, it's a city with bad areas and constant big crime. I think their focus shifts constantly as a result. I hate to be Debbie Downer and again, nothing against IMPD, they just don't have the manpower to dedicate to each case. MOO.
I'm a local as well and I wholeheartedly agree. Murder by shooting in the middle of the afternoon on the west side today, poor girl you're referencing and the search for her father on the run suspected of shooting her, it is something every day in these same areas. All making headlines. I do agree resources are stretched here. And that needs to be addressed because it ends up with so many cases turning cold or as in this case, perhaps babies not being laid to rest. jmo

Good to know that anyone can just loose track of their kids in Indianapolis and just say to the cops, “oops, my bad” I am so damn angry over this. No one is being held accountable right now. AMIAH is the victim!!! AMIAH

“He’s kinda a suspect but we ain’t looking for him” In all my years on this site I have never ever heard this from police before. Or i have missed it. How exactly does that work? Apparently from you he holds the answers!

And this is exactly why people don't report things that they know. They have to live surrounded by these people with minimal deterrent.

Question; and I am trying to choose my words very wisely while typing with my toes as I’m still sitting on my hands :D

How in the world does she not have neglect charges at the very minimum as her mother? Not knowing where your infant was between March 9th-16th before contacting police?
I have to have faith the police know more because dang

Not being the sharpest tool in the shed + being in an abusive relationship with someone who kills/disappears your child often garners pity and often excuses you in some ways from your own actions or inactions in the matter as a whole (or allows you to make deals and accept plea bargains if you do wind up being held accountable in some form). We see it often in cases here. If I shared my own thoughts and experiences on this further, I'd likely either break TOS, offend a lot of people (mostly women probably) or more likely, both.

I can understand all of that up to a point. Very much so. I actually felt for the mom for a bit. My breaking point was when they announced the actual date of disappearance was a week prior. There is no excuse for that. None. As a mother you are to protect your children. (I know, I’m preaching to the choir, I do appreciate this forum for being able to vent within reason) What are you doing for that week? Waiting for her to just stroll back home? Im sure she absolutely loves her baby. But she’s not a baby doll. She lives and breathes and needs care. Protection.

I guess if he was threatening her the whole week and she was scared, I can see that. Ok, putting that in my mind, and the only scenario that would even make sense, he needs to be arrested. That is the most mind boggling.

“Divers searched a west side pond Monday afternoon in connection with the case of missing baby Amiah Robertson.

“The pond at the Pebble Point and Mariners Village Apartments is a couple miles northwest of that location. An IMPD homicide detective and fire department divers were at the scene for almost three hours Sunday night before darkness forced them to call off the search.

Monday's search, based on a tip, did not yield any clues.

After searching the pond Monday morning, Wayne Township firefighters then accompanied a search dog as it probed a wooded area behind the Addison Creek on Rockville Apartments and a nearby pond at the Ashton Pointe Apartments in what amounted to a proactive search of secluded areas in a part of town where IMPD believes Lyons travels.“
