Goodness, let's get these 2 in court and sentenced. Poor baby Amiah, she saw no loving kindness in her short little life. I hope she gets the justice she deserves when these 2 finally go to trial.

Her little body has never even recovered IIRC? That makes me furious, she deserves to be laid to rest properly.

A judge ruled Tuesday that cameras would be allowed in the court room. Robertson’s jury trial is currently scheduled for May 22nd.


I guess I shall move Lyons & Robertson to May 22 - unless there are any hearings before than - @FrostedGlass ? :)

Yay, bio Mom is finally going on trial. I can't imagine what she's going to say other than the BF did it.

There's always this:
Under Indiana Code § 35-41-4-2, murder and Level 1 and Level 2 felonies have no limitations period, meaning the prosecutor can bring the charges at any point after the commission of the offense.

I am going to go ahead & post this - so I can shorten them up a bit! :) When the trial starts I will combine them together instead of 2 different items.

Monday, May 22nd:
*Trial set to begin-CANCELLED! (@ 9am CT) - IN – Amiah Robertson (8 mos.) (March 9, 2019 last seen @ babysitter’s (Jeanette Browning) on So. Holmes Ave, reported missing 3/16/19 by mother, Amber Robertson, but it was later learned the baby had been missing for one week, not found). for *Robert Lyons (23/now 24), then bf of mom, indicted (9/9/22) & charged (9/16/22) with for 1 count of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious injury but results in bodily injury (F3), 1 count of neglect of a dependent results in bodily harm (F5), 1 count of neglect of a dependent the abandonment or cruel confinement deprived a dependent (F5) & 1 count of neglect of a dependent def. places dependent in situation that endangers the dependent (F5). Arrest warrant out for Lyons. 9/12/22: Lyons is in touch with his attorney & LE hope he surrenders. Surrendered to LE 9/13/22. Bond $200K Surety. Bond reduced (10/7/22) to $150K. If bonded out: probation with home detention & GPS.
Trial was set to begin on 11/14/22 continued on 1/9/23 & continued on 3/6/23 & was continued on 5/22/23 & continued on 8/14/23.

Lyons understands his issue is moot & understands the process of pursuing a pretrial appeal & the finality of dismissing an appeal. He wants his appeal of his pretrial bond amount to be withdrawn wherefore, counsel respectfully requests this Court dismiss Lyons’ appeal of his pretrial bond under this cause & for all other just & proper relief.

12/21/22 Update: Pretrial conference commenced & concluded. Presiding Judge Shatrese Flowers. Motion for trial continuance-granted. No objections from State. Jury trial on 1/9/23 cancelled. Defense oral request for bail review-granted. New jury trial to begin on 3/6/23. Next bail review hearing on 12/29/22 @ 11am.
12/29/22 Update: This matter came before the court for a bail review hearing. Defendant sworn in, direct exam, cross, redirect. Parties present argument as to bail review. Defendants motion to reduce bail over states objection. Court Sets Bond at $40K (10%) Home Detention with GPS. Judge further reduced bond from $60K to $40K surety. 10% cash must be posted for Robertson's release. Defense attorney requested $20K. Robertson wants out to deliver twins with family support & grieve the recent death of her mother. State argued against bond reduction. State concerned about Robertson being around the newborn twins & her 3 other living children (under age 5) while awaiting trial on neglect of Amiah, whose body has never been found. Not clear if anyone will provide the money needed to bail Robertson out of jail. 3/2/23 Update: Motion for continuance of trial-granted. Trial now set to begin on 5/22/23.
