Are you implying that the parents would drop their civil suit if the prosecutors dropped their criminal case? Because I do not believe that would ever happen. The prosecutors have discussed giving SA a plea deal with NO JAIL TIME and the family is refusing it. This is not just about gramps not going to jail. The parents want a big fat payout. At this point, I don’t even consider this an opinion.

I did think that initially. Now I think the opposite. It seems to me that SA was pretty honest about what happened until the parents announced their lawsuit. Now he can't admit guilt without undermining their lawsuit.

I wonder if this man has been identified and/or interviewed by LE? Given that Chloe started to follow him as he walked toward the windows, had she and Grandpa met him earlier? Why did Chloe follow the man? Was she confused and thought he was SA, or had the man said something to Chloe and Grandpa about going to look out the windows? This guy could actually prove to be an important witness if he had interacted with Chloe and SA before the incident.

The people sitting right at that window might have heard what SA said to Chloe.
‘I’ll lift you up to see out’
People tend to speak loudly to children. Maybe?

Are you implying that the parents would drop their civil suit if the prosecutors dropped their criminal case? Do you really believe that SA not going to jail is the only thing their civil suit is about?

The prosecutors have discussed giving SA a plea with no jail time and the family has STILL refused it (according to SA’s defense attorney). This is not just about SA not going to jail. The parents want a payout. At this point, I don’t even consider this an opinion. IMO nonetheless.

Amazing, isn't it ?
And not in a good way.
I would have taken it and gone home.
Well for starters I would never have dangled a toddler out a window 11 stories from the ground. Smdh.

Maybe SA thinks prison in PR won't be that bad ?

Some legally prescribed drugs can exacerbate the effects of alcohol - like Xanax or Ativan. Taking something like this for nerves about flying, traveling, etc could make someone who isn’y aware feel very inebriated even after a small amount of alcohol.

BINGO!!!

When you combine alcohol with drugs for motion sickness this drug interaction can cause extreme drowsiness or dizziness. It can make driving more dangerous and you may at greater risk of a fall or other injury. You should not drink alcohol with motion sickness medications

ETA: The actual filing of the suit did not occur until SA was formally charged.

IMO, I don’t think the timing of their decision to file had as much to do with SA being charged as it had more to do with their realization that the big fat settlement check they were expecting from RC wasn’t coming anytime soon.

Window Pic That Dad Took. Photoshopped? Who Labeled?
@Forever Young Thx for pic & comment about purportedly open window being closed
. Two questions.
1) In left window & right window, I see lots of lights - many are typical city lights.
Middle window view is mostly obscured by blue arrow stating
"WINDOWS SLIDE OPEN FROM RIGHT TO LEFT." I do not see city lights or any other lights in the middle window, around edges of arrow. Why not? Was that part of pic photoshopped? If so, what else was p-shopped?

2) Who added the graphics (arrows captions, etc) to or labeled Dad's shipboard pic? Dad? Winkleman's firm? Daily Mail, the first MSM to publish, IIRC. Or___?

One thing that is odd about it is that the photograph that is credited to the dad is labeled wrong as to which window is open. Not sure who labeled that, but from the reflections it is obvious that what is labeled as open is actually shut.

Yes, I have seen the blue shelter pic (in this link). It may be that the awning is closer to the ship than the blue shelter is. Don't know.

Chilling photo from toddler’s cruise death

I think that there was very likely witnesses on the dock that viewed what happened. I can't imagine that the dock was witness free at a busy before-sail time.

I call BS!! They are lying!!
This photo of the little blue canopy is NOT A BLUE POLICE TENT!!

The view over the railing showing a blue police tent, thought to be covering Chloe Wiegand’s body. Picture: Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina Winkleman, P.A.Source:Supplied

This blue canopy is there in this video @ 1:35 on a different day.

The actual filing of the lawsuit did not occur until many months after Chloe’s death and many rounds of public bullying against RC because, at that point, they realized the big fat settlement check they were expecting from RC wasn’t coming anytime soon. IMOO.

I don’t think the timing of their filing had as much to do with SA’s charges as it has to do with RC’s ‘stubborn’ refusal to pay up.

And also Chloe's birthday.

Could it be they can’t pull out? Did they sign a contract with Winkleman that if they did they would pay his costs?

His job is to convince you, me and the jury that everything imaginable is RCCL’s fault.

If his cat had kittens it would be someone else’s fault and he’d be out to prove it.
Reminds me of Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, who claimed that George sexually abused Casey, and that George was involved with Caley’s death and covering it up. Some sick, disgusting stuff... Yes, they’ll stoop pretty darn low just to win.

I thought at first it was city lights, too, but I am now more inclined to think it is the reflection of the interior lights on board. IMO

I respectfully disagree, IMHO SA was never honest. If he was really sorry and felt as bad about killing his darling "best friend", he would just come clean and not be fighting the charges. The payout is the prize they have their eyes on, nothing more. JMOO

Hmmm.
And if they refuse to pay Winkleman maybe he'll come out and say gramps is an addict and a raging alcoholic and dropped her on purpose... ;)
No, they'll pay Winkleman if this turns out to be disappointing for the Wiegands'.

They also could have quietly filed their lawsuit and not gone on a press tour to try to make their case to the public. Maybe then the video would not have been leaked?

IMO, the whole point of the Weigand press tour was to bully RC into settling before they would ever even have to file. That’s why they were so aggressive and public about it. The mother is an attorney for god’s sake... She knows their case is baseless, will never win in court, and that their ONLY chance at getting the mega millions they so desperately want is if RC settles.

I'm thinking Winkleman's law firm took the case on contingency. If that is the case, the family only had to pay a small filing fee. If there is a settlement or if they win at trial, the lawyers usually get 40%. I believe that's the standard split. If they lose, there is no additional charge.

Amazing, indeed. And who dangles a baby out of a window in the first place. Much less 150 feet in the air! Omg, who would do that if not with evil intentions, because that’s the only thing that can explain it, as far as I’m concerned. I just can’t fathom it any other way. JMO

Unfortunately it seems they didn’t do blood tests for drugs or alcohol . So I wonder how that might factor in? I’m sure the defense attorney will throw anything against the wall that might stick to place doubt in the minds of the jurors. Ala, Jose Baez. My sincere regrets that there’s no “vomit” emoji.

Sorry, that’s not accurate. (What he said, not you)
When you are standing at the rail you see the glass at the floor level to the mid level and then the window glass mid to top. If anything, he is digging himself deeper in a hole again because he is admitting seeing the glass which means seeing the distance it is from the rail. Also you would definitely be able to tell the difference between the open window and the solid pane directly below it. I was on a RC cruise 2 weeks ago and checked this out. I was on Harmony not Freedom. JMO

Bbm. Exactly. That lie is going to backfire on them just like the others.
