Spree killers kill more than two people in separate locations, also with no cooling off period in between.

It appears then, that the vital distinguishing characteristics involved are:
1. Geographic comfort zone.
2. Cooling down period.
3. MO and motivations

Researching how Uber works might help in understanding that only people who have used the Uber ap and have a credit card and photo on file can use the service. Joe Blow off the street cannot just hop into an Uber and get a ride home, neither can Jane Doe. Again, the rate of cab drivers who have raped, robbed, and assaulted women is alarming, so bringing up the safety factor seems a moot point. It is understandable that taxi services are envious of the tech/ride share company b/c of the overhead the taxi company has to pay and the regulations that make insurance companies mega rich, but people should have a choice, IMO.

Many tax cab drivers have been severely assaulted and murdered too. The risk can go both ways whether it is the passenger or the driver. Both have been victims countless times.

I don't think taxi cab owners are envious of Uber. It seems they would be highly resentful though since the taxi cab owners have to follow rules and regulations. I can understand why they would be resentful and rather p*ssed. It seems only fair that everyone who is transporting passengers should have to adhere to the same rules.

Being an Uber driver leaves no assurances that a passenger wont be assaulted or worse. Nor does it mean the driver want harm anyone. Taxi cabs have been in existence much much much longer.

"Court records say he grabbed Day by her hair and throat."

Looks like he grabbed Hannah by her hair too. A clump of hair was found in the car.

The ex-girlfriend's beating happened in 1986. Hannah wasn't even born yet.

Those who know Daniel Messel describe him as having an "almost double personality." His current boss describes him as a quiet and good worker, but a former co-worker said Messel had a dark side, and he learned first-hand just how violent the man could be.

It's still unclear how Messel came into contact with Hannah Wilson, but Christian said Messel had a penchant for teenage girls and very young women.

"I always sensed something about him, and then when he started talking about these young girls? I thought he was a sick person," said Christian. "When I heard that he murdered [Hannah Wilson], I wasn't shocked at all."

he could have used the girl alias to respond to his other aliases online to make other women think he was desirable or to get the ball rolling. oops re-read this and realize that's just what you were saying. totally agree.

if he had an accomplice, maybe the accomplice wasn't aware that Messel was going to kill Hannah and the accomplice left Messel's phone there. Now the accomplice can say he was scared, wasn't the one who killed Hannah, and put the phone there on purpose. with his *the accomplice* fingerprints on the phone, it would be a good way to turn state's evidence and try to get off or lessen charges, good luck with that.
