I think for the same reason people think his hoodie disappears. It is a different angle the phone caught the light. His hoodie, mustache, shirt tails, jeans and shoes all look like a different color than the first 2. So we have 2 choices- the hoodie was removed, he dyed his stache, and changed his clothes or the light makes it look different. I'm going to go with b. Even though many people prefer aspects of a.

I own an Etsy shop. I take product pics on my phone. I take about 10 pics barely changing my phone angle because the light looks totally different. Try it with your phones! Take some pics while turning it slightly and watch the difference. I think Libby just moved her phone and the sun was caught differently. I'm ok if people don't agree. But it seems so logical to me that I can't believe it's still such a topic so long into this case.

Hope this doesn't sound rude cause its really typed with no rude undertones. I'm typing on my phone and I tend to shorten things which sometimes sound snippy. I hate typing on the phone

If I only take 2 pics of a cake (at home on the kitchen table), there is always another colour when I change the perspective. To boast I prefer the prettier of both. :)

I completely understand what you're saying. My daughter likes me to take her pictures for social media, instead of taking selfies, because I try to make the light work for us -- not against us. It makes a huge difference in the quality of the photo.

So, in your view, which of the BG photos is the most accurate? Do you think he probably looks the most like the lighter picture in real life? If so, then he either has no mustache or a light colored one. I can't get over how dark his facial hair appears in the other two. I'm still wondering if maybe those were closer to the truth and the sun was shining on the other one in a way that washed him out. Can we really know which is the closest resemblance, until we see the real BG?

I do the same. Because I am not a professional photographer, when I shoot product pictures, out of a dozen photos I come away with two that are good.

And a good example for anyone who may not take pictures is to search "continuous burst mode" shots. I think it makes for a good visual.

I can't follow or sleuth this case because it makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm poppin' in here to see if cause of death has been released or if there's a general agreement on the potential cause of death. I have only found an article from March 11th saying they are not releasing the COD.

Please let me know!

Thank you!

I'm with you with your praise!!! :)

I would like to know whether we would find a VOICE specialist if we would need one ...??

Oooooohhhhh yes!!!! Now thats a good one to have on hand, too! There was a poster that did some re-creations of BG with almost the same clothes and tried to mimic the same poses. They were SOOOOOOO good! They were removed so people wouldn't think they were released photos, but I wonder if he could post them here with a water mark saying they are recreations. They were some of the most helpful stuff I have seen in this case! Down to his age and height that you could make some good assumptions about BG, based on the differences. I know he went away (probably a little hurt), but I wish he would come back! I was so excited to have s "re-creation" guy in our presence! And anyone who watches me post knows I am a huge advocate of the Bob S. maps. I just love people's skills that lend to cases! Its so much "meatier" than the usual "discussions". It feels like actual information.

I think the darker ones are more accurate. I know if I get one shot that is too bright, then lots of the details are washed out. I think the dude has a moustache and is wearing a hoodie pulled up over his head. I also think his jacket looks pretty stuffed with things- probably a kill kit of sorts. I also think he gives me the shivers and makes my lip curl up when I look at him or talk about him.

Just a thought--- maybe all our gif people can reduce the brightness on that bright photo, making it more similar to the other 2? And see if it makes a difference? I am no good or I would try. I use picmonkey and just use the slides until my products pics look good enough but half the time I think they are horrible later! lol

Scruffy and scraggly a bit and mostly like a beard named "toothbrush", IMO. Colour maybe light brown with some reddish tone, IMO too.

PS: I can not help thinking that I just recognize this beard ..... :blushing:

I don't see a "hitler" type mustache, I see one that is bushy and brown in color and comes down the sides of his mouth. JMO

There was a petition to seal the autopsy so that will not be released. This is partly to protect against false confessions as I understand, the premise being that the real killer will know and be able to tell LE how he killed the girls. Sorry, we don't have that info here therefore.

That black and white photo reminds me of Charlie Chaplin [emoji39]

I don't really see much difference between the 3 pictures. My biggest problem isn't what I can "see" so much as what I can bring out in them. I can see the same facial structure, features, coloring, hair, etc., but trying to clarify anything so I can show others what I'm seeing just seems to make everything less clear (or change the shape, coloring, size or other things.) I hope this picture is acceptable even though it isn't BG. I blocked out the face other than the part I want to share. This is more or less what I see as facial hair on BG (the picture is actually my nephew),but maybe with a bit less on the sides of the chin and none on the cheeks. Hope that sounds clearer than it does to me. :blushing:

IMO, the mustache I see on BG was referred to as a Fu Manchu mustache. Long on either side of mouth extending down to the chin, often tapering in thickness or width toward the bottom or end of 'stache.

Found these mustache styles that are sold on E-Bay. Weird things to buy. And I guess they look more real as they are made of 100% human hair they claim!

Leave it to E Bay, lol. But that is a creepy thought... Which reminds me since we are talking about disguises-- when my kid sisters and I were growing up we used to mess around and put the panty hose over our heads goofing around with friends. I remember if you pulled the stocking up slightly, it would give you a pig nose. A lot of posters have described BG's nose as pig nose. Just a passing thought. I'd give anything to know what this guy REALLY looks like. It drives me nuts.

ETA: thank you to all who have worked so hard with the images of BG.

I know some of us have had a hard time reconciling that these two pictures are of the same guy. We know that they are but the two pictures give an impression of two people, one younger and one older.

I decided to try to prove that they are the same. I knew that I should be able to line the facial features up as the expression on both photos are basically the same.

I took each original photo (the first set of pictures). I laid each out at 100% strength. I then overlayed the other picture and faded it by 50%, allowing the underlay photo to come through at 50% with the overlay also at 50% bringing the photo to 100%. After that I then placed the corrective overlay of the right side of his face on each to line his face up properly.

Beginning originals as my base to start:

The results: this is the same guy (I know, we know this but you can "see" it is true here)

The combined phtos sharpened and brightened for clarity:

I did these several weeks back. I just never posted them. These were done before the new old photo. I don't think I can make that one work. That one is just too different.

I have been looking at the pictures and imo it looks like he might be wearing a camouflage baseball style hat , and he seems to have layered clothing. Many years ago ,I met a man who was /is homeless . he would layer clothing a hoodie , med weight jacket and a wind breaker. I was raised in Chicago and i thought of when i lived there , layering was a way to be able to be out for long periods of time in cold/cool weather . I hope that i posted right

There is a software LE uses which helps create suspect sketches; I saw it mentioned on Forensic Files (same episode I mentioned upstream).

Can we maybe try to determine facial feature distances and work up a sketch or 3D Model like Forensic Anthropologists do using pegs?

There is a really powerful, open-source and free, piece of software that might fit the bill called MakeHuman
http://www.makehuman.org/

Unfortunately, I tend to be more technical and mathematical, and lacking the artistic touch department ;-)
I have tried a few times to create BG in this software, and I simply don't have the visual art skill. However,
someone that has such skill might find it useful for creating a 3D BG.

I am attaching a screenshot of my pathetic attempt creating BG, only sharing to show the software.

Lastly, there is a MakeHuman community with many extra things created by users.
