LE aren't releasing details about 'who' the other party is involved in her abduction which leaves me to believe they are tracking this person and don't want to alert them. Someone knew enough about the details of the victim's clothing at the time (2:00am) so let's hope more details are just being guarded for her safety.

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- An Amber Alert was issued Monday afternoon for a 15-year-old girl abducted from Gary and believed to be in "extreme danger," according to Indiana State Police.

Chastinea Reeves was last seen at about 2 a.m. Monday in the 2000-block of Maine Street, where she went after her mother was the victim of a crime, police said.

Reeves is 5-feet-2-inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt and black jeans.

Last Monday, police said it was immediately unclear if the crime against her mother was related to her disappearance. It was also unknown whether she was walking, in a car, alone or with another person.

Police said she was not with her parents and did not attend school on Monday.

This news article uses the word abduction twice. It seems that they are saying she was abducted. I guess we will have to keep reading and hoping she's found safe quickly!

Reeves went to that address to seek assistance after her mother was the victim of a crime, Lt. Dawn Westerfield said at a Monday evening press conference.

The address was believed to be a friend's house, Westerfield said.

"There are just too many unknowns," Westerfield said. "She's young. It's very cold outside. We don't believe she has any means to care for herself at this time. And she's not with anyone she should be with."

The rumors flying around are just horrible! When I saw mention of a press conference, I was hoping to find that LE's statements would point more strongly in any specific direction. The vagueness concerns me greatly. Praying this young girl is safe!

She went missing from what's "believed" to be a friend's house- if Chastinea and her friend are together, why don't we know that the friend is gone? Maybe they're older, can leave on their own? Boyfriend? (Jmo)

I wonder if she was on foot or in a vehicle. I also wonder who she was with? There's just not much info here. If she/they were on foot, they may still be in the area.

That article suggests a strange turn of events indeed. someone broke in, the children went to the aunts, but then the 15 year old ran back towards the house when the police arrived and now she is missing. that is very troubling. statistically it seems unlikely that the aforementioned rumours are true. nothing is impossible. but i am worried for the missing child.
