I suspect we will see family cleared. My heart hurts for them all. Not just for their loss but because they were thrust into a spotlight which shone an unflattering light upon them for many. Insult to injury. JMO

So often we see where the public is angry that family members do not have their faces out there, telling the story of their missing loved one. But when families do accept every opportunity to tell about the missing person and hold onto that media attention for their family member's case, they are opening themselves up to a lot of criticism with every word and action being parsed out and examined in bits. In this case it was even worse than most because none were able to be cleared during the search.

They put themselves out there, warts and all, for baby girl to be in the public eye. They may now regret it.

They have my deepest condolences.

Maybe I am being too judgmental of them. My ex husband's family is very much like this family and I am probably subconsciously projecting them onto this family.

Tamera Morgan and her husband Daniel use sleeping pills. http://www.spencereveningworld.com/...ssing_Toddler_Found_Thursday_Northeast_O.html

There were no reports of illegal substances being involved in this case.

Sleeping pills. That's it! Thank you for clearing that up. My apologies for stating "drugs" as in the use of illegal drugs.

In a prior post K's former employment was mentioned. Where did he work prior? TIA. I have been getting caught up and missed some details.

A funeral home in Ellettsville

You know, I've been thinking about the family's statements a lot. It's certainly possible that things don't match up because they're involved. However, it's possible that they know this situation looks bad (unlocked door, drinking at all hours, etc), and perhaps they're trying to cover for that? I don't know, I'm just trying to figure out how these statements can be so strange, yet the family not involved. Maybe there were other illegal activities going on in the house, and they're telling conflicting stories to cover for those things?

He stated on his Facebook that he had previously "worked at a funeral home". Someone on another page said it was Chandler Funeral Home.

I can't find Kyle Parkers FB now. Maybe it was taken down?

IMO whiskey is a hard liquor. Memories of the night may be blurred.

I stopped posting after Shaylyn was found, mainly because it was starting to look like Kyle acted alone and well, I had nothing nice to say about the family even if that was the case. IMO it makes more sense that this was yet another "family friend murders child" incident than some sort of family conspiracy. I was waiting for the formal charges to be announced. Ugh, maybe not too surprising but so ugly nevertheless. :(

Having said that, after reading the following I don't think I can muster up the expected sympathy for the family - or at least some of the family members:

Adam Ammerman told police that he saw Kyle Parker leaving the house between 3:00 and 4:00 am. Adam saw that Parker was carrying something. Adam told investigators he yelled to say good-bye to Parker, but Parker would not turn around. Adam said he thought he saw a foot dangling from Parker's side but wasn't sure. He went back to bed at that point.

Adam Ammerman also told police that his mother walked into the house one day and found Kyle Parker sitting in a rocking chair drunk, holding Shaylyn in his lap. He told police Kyle liked to watch pornographic movies which featured people being spanked. Police interviewed some of Kyle Parker's other friends, who said he liked pornographic videos with sadistic and masochistic themes, and that Kyle Parker was attracted to younger girls 12 to 14 years old, something Parker denied when he was being questioned by police later.

RIP little Shaylyn. :rose:

Does anyone think the molestation charge could be related to activity that occurred in the past? Just thinking out loud, but the molestation charge strikes me as odd, given the rape charge. Is it possible she was previously molested by him?

ANY alcohol can cause one's memory to be blurred, including beer and wine. It depends on the amount consumed and one's tolerance and many other factors. IMO. One is not necessarily better or worse than the other.

I am still wondering about this:

“Easter will never be the same; no holiday will,” grandmother Tamera Morgan said from the family’s home Saturday afternoon. “She was a New Year’s Eve baby, it will never be the same, Christmas will never be the same, because of my father. He had a massive heart attack in December. He’s got four grand babies up there (in heaven) with him right now.”

I wouldn't think it would have gone unnoticed. Also, I don't think there can BE a rape charge without a molestation charge. IMO

“I know you don’t see much of anything baby around, but I just had to get it out of here. Her baby bed was in that corner,” Tamera said, pointing to the southwest corner of the family’s living room.

Shouldn't that have been more of dad's decision?

“They either came right after he left or sometime right after. They laid the newspapers (on the counter) and left. They don’t get done with their paper route until about 4:30 or five o’clock, I know how long that route takes. They probably got done around 4:30ish. I do believe she (Shaylyn) was gone by then.”

How do they "believe" Shaylyn was gone by then? Kelly and Brian never noticed her missing/when they got back?

I just don't get it... this just does not make sense to me.

TM woke up once to find KP rocking Shaylyn, watching cartoons? So maybe the molestation happened before. Sicko (to say the least).

There is quite a bit I don't understand. I thought maybe the coroner was holding back on a lot and that unfortunately, has proven to be true. If someone disagrees, or has an explanation for the following, I would love to hear it.

They destroyed her crib with a hammer? Why wasn't the crib taken as evidence? Wouldn't you think LE would go over that with a fine tooth comb for blood, semen, hair, fingerprints? Now it is lost? Physical/forensic evidence could prove that Kyle touched the crib, left skin cells as he took baby, etc. Now it is destroyed? I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the family put it in the burn barrel out back which I'm guessing they have one. I don't get it...that crib is HUGE EVIDENCE. Unless Kyle was in a HAZMAT suit, he left evidence of himself in that crib. I think that is a pretty important thing to prove.

RSBM Well ALL of that is new and certainly conflicts with Adam's previous statements. I want to believe that LE were made aware of all of this immediately and that is why they were onto KP so very quickly. I want to believe that LE cautioned the family not to publicize these facts until KP was in custody and Shaylyn found.

I think they're stacking all relevant charges on him.

Yes, that's what I am wondering as well.

If it did, was any of the family aware of it?

OMG! When did that information about what Adam saw come out? All I had read was that he had opened his window and yelled to Kyle who didn't respond. That's heart breaking!
