I just want to point out that what they seem to be getting him for is underage solicitation (and not the allegations that he knew people appearing in the pornographic material he received from his foundation director were minors). In Indiana, the age of consent is 16. IIRC, he was not charged for that, unless it was for the prostitution itself and not the age of the prostitute. They are charging him 100k restitution for each of 14 counts of underage solicitation, mostly on NYC business trips (which were legit, but he used his downtime to find teen prostitutes).

I am acquainted (in the sense that we'd recognize each other, have spent time at a few parties together) with one of Fogle's cousins. The entire family is basically well-to-do and the one I know does not (fortunately) share the same last name. I'm the kind of person who has a very defined sense of right and wrong. So when this type of thing comes out, I'm first to jump on the "fry 'em" bandwagon. I found myself being very skeptical and much more restrained. I was extremely surprised by my feelings - I have no great connection to this cousin of his or any particular love for him as a spokesperson or even as a Hoosier. I think it was because I just didn't want to think that someone I was less than six degrees of separation from would do such things.

Samarra

Out the 14 victims. 2 were actual meet ups. And 12 were video or images given to him. The 14 were not all solicitation meet ups.

Some folks think that Jared actually wanted to get caught. Maybe a subconscious wish? He was blabbing for years about his perversions.

I found this article kind of interesting and thought I'd share...

The accusations are spelled out in sickening detail by federal prosecutors in court documents charging former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle with possessing and distributing child *advertiser censored* and “commercial sex acts with a minor” or paying to engage in sexual activity with someone who is younger than 18 years old.

Two of the victims, prosecutors said, were 16 when Fogle committed sex crimes against them. Fogle admitted to those charges and has agreed to plead guilty. But why wasn’t he charged with rape?

In many states, if a 37-year-old man victimizes a 16-year-old girl, it would be considered rape.

But the charges announced against Fogle this week were federal. And according to Tim Horty, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana, there is no applicable federal law.

“There is no federal statute for rape in this situation that would have applied,” Horty said. “What always applies is that you cannot cross state lines to engage in commercial sex with anyone under 18.”

First paragraph: I respectfully suggest that you acquaint yourself with what he was actually charged with.

Second paragraph: I totally understand your feelings.

All that other money bought what? Fancy recording technology ? Grrrr

just wanted to say again that IMO, we aren't going to find out in the future that the charges against Jared were trumped up!

on the contrary, when the people he narcked on get arrested, they are going to pay him back by spilling the entire can of worms all over the place! JMO of course.

Let's sum it up:

He was really, really fat, lost weight by eating turkey sandwiches, used his fame to buy himself a foundation for children JUST SO he could have sex with them, and got caught.

Where in all this is someone who deserves to be thought well of? In any way? Or even for us to hope for his sake that he
wasn't as offensive as he seems?

For his victims, yes.

I don't have compassion for him. I'm just not that enlightened. And, I will bet the farm that he has done far. far worse than has already been revealed.

Giving away his $$$ to victims should not influence the
judge's decision, MOO.

Edited to add, in my book, whether or not he actually had physical sex with a child under 6, if he watched and distributed the material, and solicited the material to be
filmed, again JMO, he is just as guilty as the people making the film. Every time he watches it, he is raping the child again.

Child Rape=DP

A former franchisee alerted a Subway advertising executive in 2008 about her concerns about pitchman Jared Fogle, according to her lawyer.

—Fogle told her about paying for sex with minors on a trip to Thailand, and paying for sex with a 16-year-old he found on Craigslist.

—She offered to show Moody the texts from Fogle, but Moody stopped her and said he didn't want to hear anymore.

—Moody said he had dealt with similar comments, and reassured Mills that Fogle had met a teacher who would get him on the right track.

"To me, it was confirmation that they knew about it," Beasley said.

I wonder just exactly how many minors Subway's blind eye enabled Jared to victimize between 2008 and now.

One is too many, of course, but I shudder to think how many there might be.

[Expletive deleted] Subway. This makes me so angry.

I wonder what age girls he abused in Thailand? SOB, MO FO, SCOUNDREL. He
should never see his children, I wouldn't be surprised if he had them... So he
could secretly video tape them. Sick perversion.

Jersey Mike's RULES.
Agreed! Jersey Mike's is a little more expensive, but worth it. The store in my area gives $1.00 off regular subs when you show your previous receipt. They also double your reward points on Monday and Tuesday. Those points add up in a hurry! Free sandwiches do taste better.
