RIP, Tiffanie and your baby boy. May justice come swift and hard to the monster who perpetrated this horrible crime.

This breaks my heart! Shasta Himelrick, who had just found out she was with child, was found today.

So much promise, their beautiful lights extinguished forever. May they and their families have swift and maximum justice.

Absolute sin!

Quietly followed this case from the beginning & I think her lifestyle, the warrants & her harsh upbringing all hampered this case as it appeared she was just a stroppy 20 year old who had ran away! Sure it was also previously said on the fb pages the step-father believed she was staying with her sister & she was harbouring her. Why would anyone try & play down your young step-daughters disappearance, whom is alone & late on in a pregnancy, very incriminating!

RIP Tiffanie & your baby boy! I hope Yous are both happy, in eachothers arms in heaven!

*heavy sigh*

I'm so very sorry to the family.

I certainly hope so, death row in this state?

Also MSM are saying 'homicide' wouldn't it be a double homicide given she was 7/8 months pregnant or more, depending when her fate was sealed!

So so heartbreaking!

There are very few cases that I've followed on here that I felt so strongly about. This one is killing me. I'm so mad beyond belief right now.

Tiffany and Shasta...makes me so sad....may they rest in peace with babies.

Currently, at least 38 states have fetal homicide laws. The states include: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio (click link at the bottom for Ohio details if you are curious about the laws and penalties in Shasta Himelrick's tragic case), Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Charges in Indiana when the death of an unborn baby results:
Ind. Code Ann. § 35-42-1-3 defines voluntary manslaughter as a person who knowingly or intentionally kills a fetus that has attained viability while acting under sudden heat and provides penalties.
Ind. Code Ann. § 35-42-1-4 defines involuntary manslaughter to include a person who kills a fetus that has attained viability while committing or attempting to commit specified felonies that pose a risk of serious bodily injury, specified misdemeanors that pose a risk of serious bodily injury or battery. The law was amended in 2010 by Ind. Acts, P.L. 7 (SB 71) to include a violation of Ind. Code Ann. 9-30-5-1 et seq., which define operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The law refers to Ind. Code Ann. § 16-18-2-365, which defines viability as the ability of a fetus to live outside the mother's womb.
Ind. Code Ann. § 35-42-1-6 specifies that a person who knowingly or intentionally terminates a human pregnancy with an intention other than to produce a live birth or to remove a dead fetus commits feticide; the law does not apply to an abortion. The law was amended in 2009 to change feticide from a Class C to a Class B felony. (2009 Ind. Acts, P.L. 40, SB 236)
Ind. Code Ann. § 35-42-2-1.5 defines aggravated battery as a person who knowingly or intentionally inflicts injury on a person that causes the loss of a fetus.

Penalties in Indiana when the death of an unborn baby results:
Ind. Code Ann. § 35-50-2-9(b)(16) allows the state to seek either a death sentence or a sentence of life imprisonment without parole for murder by alleging the victim of the murder was pregnant and the murder resulted in the intentional killing of a fetus that has attained viability.
Ind. Code Ann. § 35-50-2-16 (2009) allows the state to seek an additional fixed term of imprisonment if a person, while committing or attempting to commit murder, caused the termination of a pregnancy. Prosecution of the murder or attempted murder and the enhancement of the penalty for that crime does not require proof that the person committing or attempting to commit the murder had knowledge or should have had knowledge that the victim was pregnant or that the defendant intended to cause the termination of a pregnancy. The additional consecutive term of imprisonment may be between six and 20 years. (2009 Ind. Acts, P.L. 40, SB 236)

O/T, but I love your maps my friend!

So the question is-what the heck happened? She was walking from her dad's to her mom's house when she disappeared, less than a block! I am 99.9% sure this has to do with drugs, but I was also sure she was hiding somewhere, so what do I know. I still think the boyfriend is shifty, not sure he is not involved somehow.

I also followed this case closely from the sidelines & am so saddened by the outcome. I was so hoping Tiffanie had sought refuge from the craziness somewhere & was trying to change what her life had been & was for not only herself, but her sweet baby boy. She didn't deserve to be murdered & left in a cornfield (no one does!). It makes me so sad for her family & friends to be starting what should be a new beginning of the new year, with this horrific news. Praying for them.

I'm wondering why nothing in MSM has really been stated about Tiffanie's baby? She was far along in her pregnancy. It seems the that did this would be charged with 2 murders, correct?
Are the POI who had been originally mentioned on the FB page (not sure if km allowed to mention them by name or initials since I'm not sure they were even arrested on anything) still out?
This is such a sad case. With so much drama that went along with it, I really hope that their community can escape that (drama) & come together for this young girl to show their love & support during this really awful & sad time.

The police have not named any POI, so we can't name or mention any here. I am confused about the lack of mention about her baby too. Had me thinking, could her baby have been taken? Could she have had the baby first than been killed?

In another recent case of an almost full term pregnant woman missing...
There was no mention of the baby when the body was found either.
Only her family eventually clarified that the baby had died as well. :dunno:

All these pregnant women are hitting so close to home right now.
It should be one of the happiest times in their lives. :tears:

I don't think she ever left "Dad's" house. That's the version the cops and the media were told.............not necessarily the accurate one.

I'm confused as well about the "stepfather" and the "Dad". She apparently got along well with her "Dad", but seemed to despise her "stepfather". Which one was it that lived so close to her mother ?

Somebody local, or somebody with more knowledge about it, fill me in.
