I knew I shouldn't have posted anything!!! For some reason, this whole time change thing has scrambled my brains and put me in a Fognesia™.

I am totally unable to grasp figuring out the time zones. Surely that's a sign of genius?

It is absolutely a sign of genius! I spent an hour trying to figure it out and gave up. Some other (plebian) posters enlightened me. :floorlaugh:

the vast majority of people on the planet are neither sociopaths nor psychopaths, so in that context it is rare. Most don't kill either, so what I said stands.....but I clearly didn't phrase it well, so thank you for through correction on that part. MLMs are not a scheme either....they aren't pyramids but can be close.

According to studies and cited by Martha Stout, the incidence of sociopathy/psychopathy can be, depending on cultures, about 1 in 25, or about 4% of the population.

Which means it's "rare" in terms of total population, but in a population of 300 million people "one in a million" means 300.

In a population of 300 million people, 4% means that's 12 million sociopaths we're talking about.

Looks like there was also a motion filed to get Travis' criminal history:

I happen to enjoy some of her work.

Above is the original post of the photo.

Here is the link to Feng Jiang's photos:

So you all can judge for yourselves.

The photo isn't showing up from sacrablue's post .. this is the photo from her creepy Journal Entry on May 10, 2004 on her blogpost.

I just noticed that. They are going to be disappointed to find out it wasn't Travis.

And not all of them harm other people or commit murder. I think sometimes peoples' demands for things to make sense somehow, lead to incorrect labeling.

How can we tell who is compelling who for the records? I thought motion to compel was used when one side wants records from the other that were not provided during discovery. Could today's motions just be Defense wanting a copy of what Prosecution has?

I didn't find it convincing. Why fill up a third gas can after the murder?

bbm: it is not the "after" that is important imhoo. It is the fact that she:

1) lied about returning it

2) lied about having it on the trip

3) lied about filling it

4) had enough fuel to bypass stopping on the way due to having three cans

**further thought: if she already borrowed two and it was "just for emergencies" in the desert as she claims then two should have been enough... why buy the third one? Why lie about the third one over and over and over? Because her purchase of that third can was for a reason.. she was going off the grid and wanted to make it all the way to Mesa without leaving a paper trail. :twocents:**

I didn't find it convincing. Why fill up a third gas can after the murder?

A few reasons:

#1 It really was cheaper at this point to fill up in Utah.
#2 In her mind, maybe to prove she never used the initial gas can fuel. See, they're still full.
#3 Maybe she promised DB she'd return them full for the favor of having used them plus an extra 5g can.
#4 She used it to burn evidence after Utah. No one really knows where/when she disposed of the stuff really.

I lean towards #2 and #4 mostly. :moo:

Well, "women on a pedestal" was a bit of hyperbole, but you do get that in typically sexist fashion, women tend to be described in terms of positive attributes and when they are not behaving as such, they are described behaving in masculine terms. I was reading an article about a month or so ago about the binge drinking problem in Britain and some of the so-called experts did exactly that, attributing women passing out in their own puke after getting in a cat fight to behaving like men rather than just behaving like, well, drunk women.

Sure, there are counter-examples, and I'm speaking very generally, but I think we can be quite invested in viewing women in a certain way that can only be described as a form of benign sexism.

I think Mrs. G Norris got what I was driving at.

That's exactly it. I probably made the point artlessly the first time around. I didn't mean male and female sociopathy manifests itself in the same way. Either through women sociopaths having a different strategy relying on interpersonal manipulation, as you note, or that we tend to view exactly the same behavior differently depending on a variety of factors including gender.

Of course, here Bill Burr starting at 2:30 in, explains the dynamics of dealing with the female psycho: Warning- Lots and Lots of NSFW language.

Bill Burr- Women Are *******s - YouTube

When Burr does it it's funny, but when you think about how Jodi Arias operated with the relentless endless drama and attempts to isolate Travis Alexander from his support, perhaps culminating in at least emotional blackmail (if not actual with the "sex tape" and photos), ending up with destroying him rather than letting him be free of her, it's not that funny.

I was agreeing with you, Mykeru.

My oldest son had a girlfriend he was deeply in love with. He was a day away from proposing when he found out she was both cheating & lying about a great many things. It has seriously screwed him up, to put it bluntly. Every person I tell this story to talks about the "role reversal." So, yes, I get what you're saying.

Dang....the link wont work for me....can somebody post a brief summery? TIA....:please:

I don't know what was posted upthread but here is a photo of what I just saw.

The motions look like they were filed by the defense to compel the state to turn over Travis' criminal history and the Wal-Mart and Tesoro business records.

JM didn't complete that line of questioning IIRC... I am guessing we are going to hear more on that. 1 gas can + 1 gas can + no return receipt = 3 gas cans?

1 gas can + 1 gas can + one gas can receipt + no record of return + she bought gas on her way to Mesa in Pasadena that was too much just to fill the car & 2 gas cans + 3 separate transactions in SLC for gas that would have to factor in a 3rd gas can = 3 gas cans

isn't this defense investigation 101?? (I would have figured that they would have done this right out the gate)

here are some things I have picked up along the way on the pedo claim:

-it didn't happen until late in the game

-LaViolette was told by Arias that the pictures were on a computer but later changed it to pictures (they tried to get this in already during the evidentiary hearing but it was a no go.. I am pretty sure it will come up on cross of LaViolette)

-Arias tried to interfere with the testimony of Matt M via passing messages in a magazine. Arias claims he is the only person she told (other than the defense experts.. after she crafted the story up). Juan has also intimated in the question review piece that Matt M made a statement that he would lie on the stand for Arias in January of 2013.. it was sustained but this will also come back up

-While Arias was "defending her own self" she introduced 10 fake letters from Travis that allegedly contained info about the pedophilia. They were deemed fraudulent and thrown out.
**basically the pedo story is a canard**
^a groundless, unfounded, uncorroborated, and fabricated story made to fit one sentence in a sex tape^

:twocents:

BBM. Hesitate to disagree with our great Mod, but I do not believe the letters were proved to be fraudulent. JM said they could be fraudulent. He asked to see the originals. Nurmi said Jodi had recieved them "electronically from a third party." The issue of the letters seems to have faded from view at that point.

The circumstances surrounding those letters makes it clear that they are fakes. But have they been proved fakes? Not IMO.
