Is LP Just Harmless or a Media Agent for the Defense?

Great research. AND what is to be said for NG and the fact that she continues to showcase this tax cheat on her show?

Read that to mean.........ramping the case back up to stimulate interest in any "new" media deal or shall I say "next".

Harmless: no... his circus has already created more than enough havoc in the case. Media agent for the defense: I don't think so... he is about himself and he obviously finds no qualms about distorting stuff to make sure that it is all about him.


A slight case-in-point:

An image page on his site has a couple of pictures with interesting captions. The captions are mixed up, but you can figure it out that caption 2 was meant for image 3 where he is photographed at a TES search. The darn caption doesn't mention TES, but says that it was LP and his search team of 2000 meeting before heading out to search. That search was headed, and set, up by TES... yet LP makes like it was his doing. And Caption 3 was meant for image 2, where his tail is in trouble with LE. The caption says he was getting a courtesy escort, giving the impression that LE escorts him around because he is a world famous bounty hunter. What he failed to add was the fact that he was in trouble and being carted off by LE to be questioned...

I would be highly offended if I was a TES member and had searched... he has no right for calling the TES search "his" search team and making it seem like he headed it.

Disagree, I thought LP had some pretty "big cattle" when he spent his own money searching the Little Econ river for Caylee, with CA yelling at him the whole time. That says a lot about the man to me.

Do we know how much he spent on the search? It was widely reported, even by Nancy Grace, that the divers he got to do the river searching were actually Blackwater divers that volunteered to do it... so there was no money paid out to the people that actually did the river search. From outward appearances, LP didn't finance it because it was all done on volunteerism... I could be wrong, though...

(Before he got Blackwater to come in, he had approached Tim Miller, wanting to use TES volunteers and equipment for the dive... but Tim shot him down because TES had already used radar on that river and cleared it.)

Call me naive, but I don't think LP would work for the defense, in spite of his tax problems. For one, he thoroughly detests CA, and I think the same applies to KC, and I believe he has a real affection for Caylee and wants to see justice for her, especially if he can make a few bucks on the deal. If anything, I think he'd like to be the one to send KC away forever.

I kind-a saw LP as the slightly off, favorite uncle. I'm no longer so sure, possibly he's just getting older making his seeming slightly off more obvious. IDK. But he's the first one to tell anyone he is a media ho...

I do believe he was badly deceived by the whole Anthony crew, they let him put up a huge amount of money to bond KC out. As soon as the money was out of his pocket he was given new rules.

I believe at the time he was in front of their home, all of their lives were on the line but he kept his boys their with them, protecting the whole family and when KC went back to jail they were terrible to him. No way in blue blazes should he have put more money up to get her sorry azz back out of jail... I don't care that he had said he'd get her back out. He thought after she got a hot meal, shower and a pedicure, she was going to tell him where to find Caylee.

Yes it was mostly his own fault for not listening to what people were saying, but he had been in the business for a long time - he had his own instincts and people who read here every day were still on the Caylee alive bandwagon...

Has he done some not cool things in FL? Yup, but did he kill a child or hide from LE? Nope, he kept it right out there in public. And we had a huge number of peeps on line while he was searching out at the park - so while he was doing something - a bunch of us were watching. They had so much food donated from bloggers they couldn't use it all. IIRC...

LP is neither harmless nor an agent for anyone other than himself. I would like to see what Dr. Glass' reading would be if she did a body language profile. She could start with the eyes that never look directly into the camera for any length of time but are constantly moving from side to side. I thought initially that he was looking at himself on TV monitors, but now I think he is exhibiting signs of more serious problems.

I'm not a doctor (so I'm not diagnosing) but for the last 20+ years I have been a licensed Optician. I believe he has a muscle imbalance called strabismus.

Looking away, instead of looking straight on is an old trick of people with strabismus, when being photographed to make the muscle imbalance appear less misaligned than it is. Looking straight ahead makes it look like their eyes are moving in different directions at the same time. (because they are)

The lenses in their their glasses are a high plus which magnifies, making it more obvious so the glasses come off for the cameras, but without the glasses he can't hold his eyes on one spot.

LOL IIRC Not only did he not search during the search he was only out at the command center for a few minutes....

I guess if he is having tax difficulties he won't be in too much of a hurry to bail out MC or her brother. Poor MC she sounded like she was really hoping to get something out of that book deal!!

Leonard Padilla cares about Leonard Padilla, he is not interested in justice for Caylee Anthony, imo. He will insert himself in this case by any means possible, that affords him the most publicity. Right now, I think he is aligning himself more with team anthony.

I tend to agree.

LP was entertaining [the last thing we need in this case] but in hindsight he has done more harm than good and continues to do so. LP gave KC the chance to fund her Defense and get more organized [pun intended] dragging it out longer than needed. He is in it for himself but stirring the pot nonetheless as a distraction. We need focus and the truth .... together with a resolution.

Justice for Caylee.

I too have noticed that Mr. Padilla appears to be ill.
At first I thought perhaps he was suffering from the flu, or something temporary like that. But his continuing ill appearance indicates to me something of a more serious and long-standing nature.

Re: strabismus, which I also have noticed

Secondary strabismus may be due to a cranial nerve palsy from:
head injury
intracranial mass ( brain tumor or abscess)
vascular accident (stroke)
diabetes mellitus
vascular disease
systemic hypertension
heart disease

LP always claims some inside knowledge, and over time we have seen that it is just pretense. He is getting more like JW every day- just another crime scene groupie, who doesn't know when to shut up. NG's credibility drops every time she has him on her show...

To me, the point is, for those who follow the case then LP is seen for what he is .... lacking credibility, lacking real insider knowledge, in it for himself and, just throwing out theories to be on TV.

However, to the casual observer LP speaks assertively and authoritatively -- by NG giving him a platform she is adding some credibility as a talking head 'expert'. FWIW

The Jury will be supposedly comprised of casual observers and so ... there is a risk of tainting opinions even though they are supposed to base on testimony and evidence.

I did think he was harmless at first, but he has done his share of damage.

Sometimes, I think the entire cast of characters, I mean the entire bunch of them, are all in cahoots to put on something like the Truman Show. LP had us all on the edge of our seats in the beginning with his often times mistruths, or at least stretches, of the facts. He loved it so much that he wanted to repeat his performance in the Croslin case.

If LP is sickly, it'd be best if he just fades into the background now and takes care of his own health.

I think LP's agenda is LP. Good or bad , right or wrong it is all about LP. I think he will go wherever he stands to gain the most.

I agree its all about LP wanting gain 'celebrity'status and $$$$-- he's so obvious how much he eats up the attention when NG introduces him and he tries so hard not to smile.

The sucking up snot/phelm(sp?),snorty thing he does when he;'s talking makes me wanna barf too.:sick:
