IMO,

Nary a peep in their email communications either.

Nary a peep on their GENAD-net either.

Very telling.

Very shocking for countries like Israel and Canada (since 1988) where our women are fully intergrated into all roles within our Armed Services --- we can be, and are, Infantry, Armoured, Artillery, Combat Engineers, ATO/EOD etc and have been doing so for decades --- when the UN seems to ignore the plight of female non-combattants based upon their country of origin.

A close look at how social media and politics operate in the fog of war

But the source of the rape allegation remains murky. While sexual assault is a common feature of violent conflict worldwide, the Israel Defense Forces told the Forward Tuesday night that it does not yet have any evidence of rape having occurred during Saturday’s attack or its aftermath.
And most mainstream media outlets have avoided mention of rape, with the Los Angeles Times and NBC News specifically stating they have been unable to verify the claims.

How references to rape became a ubiquitous element in denunciations of the unprecedented Hamas attack exposes the challenges of understanding a war that is unfolding in real time across social media, an ecosystem that is rife with disinformation and vulnerable to abuse by propagandists.

“It’s important to distinguish between claims that are false and claims that are not verified yet,” noted David Broniatowski, an expert on social media at George Washington University. “If what you conclude is, ‘Well I’m not sure, this is unverified,’ think about the social consequences of sharing.”

Disinformation experts have criticized X, the website formerly known as Twitter, for failing to moderate content about the conflict, including allowing graphic videos of the Hamas attack to circulate over the weekend.

A White House official said Wednesday morning that Biden had based his comments off both his phone call with Netanyahu and an article in The Times of Israel that referenced videos circulating on social media that “have raised concerns of sexual assault against women.” The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, noted that the president had described the rape allegations as “stomach-turning reports,” not verified facts.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times removed references to rape from a column published Monday, adding a note that said “such reports have not been substantiated.” And when NBC News posted a video of Netanyahu stating that women had been raped, it superimposed a disclaimer stating that it had not confirmed his assertion.

The author of the Times column, Jonah Goldberg, did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday. A spokesperson for the newspaper, Hillary Manning, said, “We don’t wish to comment beyond what is stated in the correction.”

Asked about the rape allegations following Netanyahu’s remarks, an IDF spokesperson said, “We can’t officially confirm any of that yet.”

Search the UN Women website for anything related to the rape and murder of women and children on October 7, 2023. As stated in the video upthread, UN Women do not care about the mass rape of little girls until their pelvises are shattered. The victims are not mentioned on the website.

What has to happen before UN Women recognize rape of children as a significant violation?

Their website has much information. I'm not sure why you expect UN Women to specifically call out a terrorist organization for the heinous war crimes that were committed on October 7th. Their website makes it very clear their focus is providing humanitarian aid to women and children living in countries in crisis. I think both Israeli and Palestinian women and children are experiencing quite a crisis.

JMO
Leveraging its experience and expertise in gender equality and the empowerment of women, UN Women engages in humanitarian response efforts in more than 40 crisis-affected countries, ensuring gender commitments in humanitarian coordination mechanisms and providing crisis-affected women and girls with psychosocial support, livelihood assistance, second chance education, skills development, and vocational training.

Please take a few minutes of your day to watch this @ljayes
astonishing interview with senior #Hamas terrorist Basem Naim. If lying and distortion was an Olympic sport, this guy would be covered in gold. Only it's not, and he's neck deep in Israeli blood.

Ugh, I have tried to listen to this twice. The first time I had to stop when he referred to the hostages in Gaza as "guests." That's just before the 5-minute mark. The second time I made it to the 8-minute mark where he says all they found at Al Shifa was a water bucket and some CD's. He's a joke. MOO

<modsnip: quoted post was removed>

We know that medical examiners have stated that bodies were not retrieved until at least 48 hours after victims were killed. I think that means that some DNA evidence may be difficult to obtain. DNA evidence is one piece of evidence that is needed for "proof" in a courtroom leading to conviction. Absence of conviction does not mean that rape did not occur. Pieces of more than 1200 bodies have to be identified.

Do rape allegation fall apart, or have they been strengthened in the last six weeks? Israel is still waiting for DNA or go-pro confirmation of the rapes. We should be patient, and believe the survivors.

"Police have reportedly received testimony from witnesses to a gang rape that took place during the October 7 onslaught in southern Israel perpetrated by Hamas terrorists."

Clarification Note on this old and outdated article:

This article was published on 10th October 2023. On that date, some of the Kibbtz' still had not been entered. The security camera footage and photos, and the Hamas bodycams not yet collected, viewed and analyzed. They are still collecting bodies of the dead victims of the 7th October Massacre just yesterday.

On the 14th of October, that footage and photos started being collected and slowly made public. That is the same day that I started posting it here --- South First Responders.

Lest there be any doubt, the women and girls in those photographs and video footage did not experience ...

.... Ooops while running away from bullets and just happened to trip and fall with their pants ending up around their ankles. Nor bent over their beds and tables with their pants around their ankles and bullets in the back of their heads and, in at least one case, breasts cut off and tossed around by Hamas terrorists as if they were toys.

THIS HAPPENED.

Israel continued its airstrikes on Thursday, with Palestinian Wafa news agency reporting that dozens were killed in Israeli bombing raids in Nuseirat and its camp in the central Gaza Strip, and in Jabaliya in the north. Jabaliya has been the scene of days of heavy fighting on the ground.

Among those reported killed in Nuseirat was a photojournalist, Mohammad Moin Ayyash, and his family.

Another resident, Hosni Moharib, bursting into tears, told the Associated Press news agency that his wife and several children were killed and other relatives remained buried under the rubble when an Israeli strike levelled a residential building in Nuseirat. He said:

It exploded on the house, striking the babies and young children. Everyone in the house, they are all dead.

Kill, behead, rape: Interrogated Hamas members detail atrocities against civilians | The Times of Israel
[...]

Israeli security agencies published video footage Monday from the apparent interrogations of seven Hamas terrorists who were captured following the Palestinian terror group’s October 7 onslaught, in which they admitted they had been ordered to carry out atrocities against Israeli civilians.

In one video released by the Israel Defense Forces, a person whose face is blurred said that gunmen were given instructions to kill everyone they saw, including beheading victims and cutting off their legs.

“The plan was to go from home to home, from room to room, to throw grenades and kill everyone, including women and children,” he said. “Hamas ordered us to crush their heads and cut them off, [and] to cut their legs.”

He also said they were given permission to rape the corpse of a girl.

Hours before the Israel-Hamas ceasefire in Gaza begins, IDF conducts airstrikes in various areas of Gaza.Earlier, a barrage of rockets launched toward Israeli southern border communities. No injuries. Gaza health officials say IDF forces entered the Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia and arrested 3 people.

Israel investigates sexual violence committed by Hamas as part of October 7 horror | CNN
[...]

Women and girls caught in the rampage were brutalized sexually, as well as physically tortured and killed, witnesses to the aftermath say.

Police Superintendent Dudi Katz said officers have collected more than 1,000 statements and more than 60,000 video clips related to the attacks that include accounts from people who reported seeing women raped. He added that investigators do not have firsthand testimony, and it is not clear whether any rape victims survived.

[...]

The combat paramedic, who did not want his name published, said the girl on the floor was on her stomach. He had no doubt the teenager was raped, but he did not know if she died first.

“Her pants are pulled down toward her knees and there’s a bullet wound on the back side of her neck near her head,” he recounted.“There’s a puddle of blood around her head and there’s remains of semen on the lower part of her back.”
[...]

Rami Shmuel, an organizer of the festival, said he saw female victims with no clothes as he made his escape, and has no doubts about what happened.

“Their legs were spread out and some of them were butchered,” he told CNN.

He added that it appeared women were specifically targeted for sexual violence.

“Why didn’t they [take] clothes off men?” he asked. “Only women, only young girls, beautiful girls, why?”

“The cruel sexual violence inflicted on Jewish girls and women in the course of Hamas’s attack on southern Israel was filmed by body cameras and uploaded to social media by the perpetrators and their collaborators on October 7. In these videos, the terrorists are heard discussing plans to rape specific girls. They are also seen parading the rape victims that they kidnapped to Gaza, with their clothes ripped off and blood gushing from between their legs.”

[...]

The TAU historian added that raped victims who were rescued from the massacre and brought to the Israeli acute response center testified to the assaults that they suffered. Over the next few weeks, forensic evidence collected from bodies of murdered Israeli girls indicated that they, too, had been brutally raped; in some cases, in such a violent manner that their legs and pelvis bones were broken.

“Survivors of the massacre testified to having witnessed the group raping and cutting off of the breasts of a young Israeli woman. Rescue team members attested to the mutilation of the genitals of murdered Israeli girls who were found stripped naked and covered with blood and semen in their own bedrooms.”

Several Middle Eastern Countries including Saudi Arabia and Jordan are requesting that Hamas decide to “Lay Down its Arms” during the planned Ceasefire in Gaza with hopes that this may lead to an End to the War; however Hamas has reportedly Refused this Request.
I’m so glad to see this though from Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Sounds like other countries in the region are applying pressure to Hamas as well- very encouraging!

I just wanted to point out that the editor’s note at the beginning of the article you linked states this:
Editor’s note: The chief spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces confirmed that rape and other atrocities were committed during the Oct. 7 terror attack in a televised statement Oct. 21, and other Israeli officials and civilian responders also described evidence of rape since this article was published.”

On October 7th, hundreds of Israeli women and girls were raped, murdered and kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. On Saturday, the world will mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
@UN_Women and other international women’s rights groups have been SILENT. By being silent, the UN and others are endorsing the horrific atrocities committed against Israeli women.
