IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi held an assessment at the Southern Command in Beersheba today to approve battle plans for after the ceasefire, the military says.

The IDF says the assessment was carried out with the commander of the Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman.

Israel is in the midst of a temporary truce with Hamas, which has seen the terror group release daily groups of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and a ceasefire.
They're going over the work of the planimals - who I guarantee are being kept/have been very busy.

Do you recall if the IDF has yet managed to take out any of the terrorist planners? I can't recall any reportage announcing planning cell or planners confirmed killed.

Israel kills senior Hamas commanders in underground targeting, Hamas confirms

Walla has reported that their bodies were taken out of the ruins of a tunnel, which could indicate the first underground elimination of the terrorist operatives.

I remember many reports of Hamas terrorists described as "responsible for the xxxxxx attack." I don't think they were specifically described as "planners", but it would seem to fit. ? MOO

Hurray Avigail is coming home!!!!!!

But home to no parents. Thank God she has extended family that will raise her and love her, but as she grows she will understand how much has been lost.

I really, really need to see those two red-headed baby boys come home with their mom.

Thankful for every hostage released. Thankful with all my soul.

But 200 still in captivity is not tolerable.

Releasing Islamic extremists back into society is not tolerable.

None of this is tolerable.

But YES to seeing these hostages freed and reunited with family.

Of course after being kidnapped and brutalized, the hostages thought they were being removed to be executed by Hamas.
Either Hamas did not tell them they were going to be freed, or Hamas did but who could believe those walking monsters?

Emily still looks extremely traumatized. You can see how her older sister and brother were told to welcome her gently.

But welcome home, welcome home!

The International Red Cross has reportedly Turned-Over the 17 Hostages to IDF Special Forces and Shin Bet Agents on the Border of the Gaza Strip at the Karni Border Crossing; this Transfer has gone much differently than previous Exchanges with the Hostages being Handed-Over by the Red Cross to Israel directly instead of through the Rafah Border Crossing into Egypt.
I have a feeling this group, may not be in good or even fair medical condition.
Is the choice of a different exit to avoid the media or to obtain urgent medical care?

IDF confirms 14 Israelis, 3 Thai nationals have been handed over to Israel

The Israel Defense Forces says the Red Cross handed over 12 of the hostages to special forces and members of the Shin Bet security agency at the border fence in the central part of the Gaza Strip.

They will be taken to the Hatzerim airbase for an initial medical checkup and to make calls to their families. After which, they will be taken to hospitals to be reunited with their relatives.

One hostage was taken straight by helicopter to a hospital, the IDF says.

Four hostages were taken to Egypt’s Rafah border crossing, and from there they will be brought into Israel.

The IDF says it is constantly updating the families of the hostages.

Keren Munder, her son and her grandmother were among those released after they were abducted from their relatives' home in Kibbutz Nir Oz.

Ms Munder told her cousin that the hostages mostly ate rice and pita and slept on rows of plastic seats - like the ones used in waiting rooms.

She also said they would knock on the door when they needed the bathroom, but sometimes had to wait an hour and a half before they could go.

Adina Moshe, 72, told her family she thought she was being led to her death before she and 12 other hostages were released on Friday after the warring sides signed a Qatari-negotiated, four-day ceasefire.

Her niece Mayan Moshe, 43, told The Times: 'She knew something was happening when the explosions all stopped on Friday and suddenly there was silence.

'Our aunt said when they were moved from the tunnel they were scared — they thought they were being taken to be executed. Only when they saw the Red Cross buses did they realise they were being freed.'

So who is it they really want out of prison? They are getting 150 of their people back who deserve to be in prison for crimes they committed. What the heck does it matter if they release someone today or tomorrow.. they are getting all 150 as long as they honor the deal of releasing the hostages.

The reason they wanted families released together is likely to not traumatize the kids any more than they already have.

Palestinians in prison are not going to be traumatized if they stay in one more day. It's all just games they play.
When I look at the list of prisoners, some are more/less violent than others. I think Hamas wants the violent ones out first, because they're more useful to them. So, if the deal falls through, they have a better advantage than if they get an 18 yo with attempted murder charges versus a 16 yo with trespassing charges. I believe Israel may be releasing the less violent ones first. It's all about the "deal falling through"

Once again, separating families also gives them leverage....
