Dear God,,,I watched that video too. To bear witness.
I don't have words.

I have had to be careful, taking in what I can emotionally.
I was in a car accident last Thursday...I ran a red light, my fault. I simply wasn't "present", all this horror foremost in my thoughts.

I follow here, as much as I can.
We all need to know, the world needs to know.

Why doesn't Egypt want all the refugees?

If you look around and see which cities and countries had the largest pro-Hamas protests, you will see which cities and countries had accepted a lot of emergency refugees fleeing from Muslim countries. Belgium, Sweden, and the cities of Paris, London, to name a few.
The people of Gaza are not refugees. They want the land where they live. They don't want to give it up to become homeless.

It has been uncomfortable in Gaza since the elected Hamas government of Gaza waged war with Israel. The siege is a medieval tactic of starving people until they are easy to conquer. I'm fairly confident that the Hamas government stockpiled all the food and water they need to survive the siege.

This generation of ISIS style terrorists who grew up in Gaza did not suddenly wake up at the age of 18 and decide that they wanted to brutalize their neighbours. This looks more like a generation of young men with a genocidal ideology based on early childhood indoctrination.

Why would any other country want brutal murders, or people who provided education, culture and religious beliefs to those murderers, in their homes?

I actually stopped it a few times.
I hope I never see images like that again.
Worse than any horror movie.
I will never unsee.

YES.

Let the truth be known. The world needs to know.

As I explained on CNN: temporary evacuation of Gazans is reversible. The loss of life - isn’t Israel cherishes life, but we must not forget that it was the people of Gaza who elected Hamas, and it is Hamas that has embedded its murderous weapons and terror infrastructure within and among the civilian population. The only way for us to ensure that such atrocities never happen again, is to continue until we have obliterated Hamas’ terror capabilities.

As the prospect of a ground assault on Gaza looms, defence and security editor Dan Sabbagh, has taken a look at the risks, uncertainty and potential humanitarian consequences of such an operation.

“Hamas has long been ready for an Israeli incursion, digging a sophisticated network of tunnels across Gaza intended to allow its forces to survive aerial bombardment. Some tunnels previously discovered by Israel because they went under the border fence are as deep as 70 metres,” he writes.

“The heavily urbanised terrain – the Gaza Strip is one of the world’s most densely populated areas – will also favour the defenders as they try to fight back. Each remaining building will have to be fought over, and heavy mining could further impede the Israelis if Hamas copies the technique used by Russia to blunt Ukraine’s counteroffensive.”

He adds: “The near certain reality is that a ground invasion will be bloody, and it is possible international political support for Israel, which is high after Hamas’s brutal attack a week ago killed 1,300 Israeli civilians, will dip as more Palestinian civilians are killed or remain trapped without shelter, food or electricity.”

Israel’s military vows to kill Hamas leader behind attack

ASHDOD, Israel — Israel’s military is conducting an all-out hunt for Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza and mastermind of the worst attack in the Israel's history.

The IDF says he's their Osama bin Ladin.

“When they chose to go full front against Israel, they signed their own death warrants," IDF Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said.

Israel plans to send 10,000 troops to capture Gaza City and “destroy” the Strip’s leadership, the New York Times reports, citing Israeli military officers who have spoken publicly.

The report says the offensive would be the largest since 2006’s Second Lebanon War and will see the IDF attempt to hold on to parts of Gaza, at least temporarily.

A Hamas official tells the newspaper its fighters will try to ambush Israeli soldiers by popping out of tunnels behind their advance to surprise the troops.

Exactly. If the people of Gaza want to distance themselves from Hamas terrorists, they have to elect a government that is better aligned with global values and respect for diverse/differing lifestyles.

The poor, suffering, unable to travel 10 km in 24 hours people of Gaza have to make better choices, and they should not be viewed as refugees who can then spread their brutal ideology to other countries.

If they are the sort of people who elect Hamas terrorists to govern their country, the rest of the world should be protected from them.

I'm hoping the IDF has those tunnels mapped out by now...

'I May Not be Crying, but I am Broken': Israeli Woman Shares Story of Sister's Abduction

CBN's Chris Mitchell spoke with Sasha Ariev, a sister of a recently abducted Israeli soldier.
she was abducted from a base? ...and I do not believe that the hostages are safe at all IMO. the abductors were mad.

They've never been allowed to have a real election with real candidates.

The ruling Palestinian National Authority has not held an election for more that 15 years. The head of the PNT, Mahmoud Abbas lives in Ramalla, West Bank and has all but acceded Gaza to HAMAS to run.

US Secretary of State Blinken very diplomatically met with him, in Amman, Jordan, as procedural issue essentially, before starting on his trip to the really important people in the MidEast.

About “that video,”….it’s not like any of that is new news. We know about the slaughter, the bodies, the torture, the babies…And we have seen the endless videos and articles and some of the carnage and brutality …but to “see it- see it”….like “really see it”…very, very powerful video.

Opening summary

Welcome to our continuing coverage of the war between Israel and Hamas. Here is a summary with a selection of the latest developments.
  • The US is sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the eastern Mediterranean, the US defence secretary has confirmed, saying it is “to deter hostile actions against Israel or any efforts toward widening this war following Hamas’s attack”. Lloyd Austin said on Saturday the deployment signalled Washington’s “ironclad commitment to Israel’s security and our resolve to deter any state or non-state actor seeking to escalate this war”. The USS Eisenhower and its affiliated warships will join another carrier group already deployed to the region in the wake of the attack on Israel a week ago and Israel’s ongoing response. The US has sent munitions to Israel and warned other countries not to escalate the conflict.
  • The World Health Organization has condemned Israel’s order to evacuate 22 hospitals in northern Gaza that are treating more than 2,000 inpatients. Moving that many patients to southern Gaza, “where health facilities are already running at maximum capacity and unable to absorb a dramatic rise in the number patients, could be tantamount to a death sentence”, the organisation said.
  • Iran has warned of “far-reaching consequences” if Israel’s “war crimes and genocide” are not stopped immediately. On Saturday, the permanent mission of Iran to the United Nations added: “The responsibility of which lies with the UN, the security council and the states steering the council toward a dead end.”
  • Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian met Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Doha, Qatar. Hamas said the two had agreed to continue cooperation to achieve Hamas’s goals. Earlier, Haniyeh said in a televised speech that “there will be no migration from Gaza to Egypt” in the wake of Israel’s order to evacuate, and that Egypt “welcomes the Palestinian people, but not on the basis of migration or an exodus”.
  • US president Joe Biden spoke separately with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday. Netanyahu’s office said that the prime minister told Biden that “unity and determination” were needed to achieve Israel’s goal of defeating Hamas. Meanwhile, Abbas’s office said Abbas told Biden he rejected the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza as thousands fled amid deadly Israeli airstrikes.
  • Russia has asked the United Nations security council to vote on Monday on a draft resolution on the Israel-Hamas conflict that calls for a humanitarian ceasefire and condemns violence against civilians and all acts of terrorism.
  • The Syrian defence ministry has confirmed Israel’s targeting of its Aleppo airport on Saturday night, putting it out of action. “The Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, targeting Aleppo international airport, which led to material damage to the airport and it being out of service,” Reuters reports the ministry saying.
  • Israel’s military said on Saturday that it had fired back at Syrian areas from which two rockets were launched towards Israeli territory and fell into open areas. The military also said it fired an interceptor towards a “suspicious target” that crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon but did not provide any additional details.
  • The European Council chief has called on a virtual summit with EU leaders next week to discuss the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. “It is of utmost importance that the European Council, in line with the treaties and our values, sets our common position and establishes a clear unified course of action that reflects the complexity of the unfolding situation,” said Charles Michel, president of the European Council.
  • Médicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) has called on the Israeli authorities to “show humanity”. In a statement issued on Saturday, MSF condemned Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip “without restraint for a week”.
  • Israel has admitted to intelligence “mistakes” in failing to predict Hamas’s attacks last weekend. “It’s my mistake, and it reflects the mistakes of all those making [intelligence] assessments,” Israel’s national security adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, said at a press briefing.
  • The Israeli military announced on Saturday that its forces were preparing to implement a wide range of operational offensive plans. It also announced its forces had been deployed throughout Israel and were preparing for the next stages “with an emphasis on significant ground operations”.
  • Lebanon said on Saturday that Israel had launched a deadly strike on Friday that killed a Reuters journalist and injured six other journalists from Agence France-Presse, Reuters and Al Jazeera. The Lebanese army said in a statement: “The Israeli enemy fired a rocket shell that hit a civilian car belonging to a media team, leading to the death of Issam Abdallah.”
  • The UN’s under-secretary general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator, Martin Griffiths, has warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is “fast becoming untenable”. In a statement issued on Saturday, Griffiths said: “Even wars have rules, and these rules must be upheld, at all times, and by all sides. Civilians and civilian infrastructure, including humanitarian workers and assets, must be protected.”
  • The European Commission announced that it will triple humanitarian aid for Gaza. The move comes after the EU faced criticism for conflicting messaging from its senior leadership. The commission’s president, Ursula von der Leyen, spoke on Saturday with the UN secretary general, António Guterres, the commission said.

That part was beyond awful.
Not an Israeli. Not a Jew.
A Thai citizen in Israel.
Poor, defenseless, innocent people.

I was looking back over the article detailing some of the hostages. Towards the end there were some Thai hostages listed, and I wondered more about what Thailand is doing…

I’ll find and repost the article on the hostages for reference and add as eta.

Eta:

“Boonthom Phankhong and Nattawaree "Yo" Moonkan, who are husband and wife, were working at a mushroom packing factory near Gaza when Hamas militants burst in and began firing, according to Thai TV reports. Yo, aged 35, screamed while everyone else was hiding and was taken along with her husband, 45.

O-wat Suriyasri was pictured with his hands tied behind his back as armed Hamas militants looked on, in a photo sent by a colleague to his family, according to Thai TV reports. He has a child with his wife back in Thailand.

Manee Jirachat, who travelled to Israel for work four years ago, was seized by Hamas militants along with five other workers who had taken cover together, according to a Thai TV interview with his father, who had spoken to survivors.

Natthaporn Onkaew, Komkrit Chombua, Parinya Taemklang, Pattanayuth Tonsokri, Kiattisak "Top" Patee and a Mr Pongtorn (no first name given) were all named by the Thai foreign ministry as hostages. Thailand said 14 of its nationals in total were captured.”

Unlike my beloved people in Israel, I have the incredible luxury right now of telling myself I need a break, Saturday Night Live is back on, I’ll watch and try not to think about it right now.

Then Pete Davidson’s opening remarks made me cry.
