In a briefing to international media outlets, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari reveals new intelligence information and evidence showing Hamas’s use of medical facilities in the Gaza Strip for terror purposes.

Hagari presents a video showing an underground entrance from Sheikh Hamad Hospital, which he says connects to Hamas tunnel networks.

Another video shows Hamas gunmen opening fire at Israeli forces from the hospital.

“If it weren’t enough that we exposed a tunnel under the hospital, the terrorists also shot at our soldiers from within the hospital,” Hagari says.

Netanyahu: No ceasefire unless Hamas releases hostages

Touring an Israeli Air Force base, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterates that Israel will not agree to a ceasefire in Gaza unless the Hamas terror group releases the hostages it is holding.

“Take this [word “ceasefire”] out of the lexicon. We say this to both our enemies and friends. We will continue until we defeat them; we do not have an alternative,” Netanyahu is quoted saying in a statement from his office.

Ra’am party demands resignation of MK for casting doubt on October 7 massacres

Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas demands the Islamist party’s MK Iman Khatib-Yasin resign immediately, after remarks she made about the October 7 massacres by Hamas.

In an interview with the Knesset channel earlier today, Khatib-Yasin asserted the videos circulated by the IDF of the atrocities committed by Hamas did not show “rape of women” nor “slaughtering of babies.”

Iranian supreme leader hosts Hamas chief Haniyeh for talks in Tehran

According to a statement on his official website, Khamenei “reiterated his appreciation for the patience and perseverance of the steadfast people of Gaza and strongly deplored the crimes committed by the Zionist regime with the direct support of the United States and some Western countries.”

“He also underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran’s permanent policy of supporting the Palestinian resistance forces against the Zionist occupation,” the statement adds.

I like BN's answer :D
"Not based in reality"
Spot on.
Phew!
I absolutely agree, BN’s response was appropriate, glad to see he publicly and immediately denounced statement of nuclear weapons. Not that I’m justifying behavior, obviously emotions are extremely high but as a leader one must control those emotions and not incite enemies outside Gaza. Threatening use of nuclear weapons is never acceptable, it puts a person into same category for evil leadership as in Putin and Kim Jong-Un.

IDF says over 800 failed missiles have been launched by Hamas and killed civilians in Gaza — a claim Hamas disputes

Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari alleged in a briefing that over 800 missiles launched by Hamas toward Israel have landed in Gaza and killed civilians.

However, NBC News has not independently verified that claim, and Hamas issued a statement denying it, calling Hagari's comments "fallacies and unfounded lies."

Hamas' statement also said that Israel's strikes on hospitals reveals the IDF's "intention to commit more massacres against the hospitals in the Gaza Strip, which houses tens of thousands of wounded and sick people, and shelters hundreds of thousands of displaced persons."

Hagari, meanwhile, claimed once again that Israel has evidence that Hamas operates from and under the Al Shifa hospital.

Over 300 Americans have left Gaza in last several days, White House official says

More than 300 Americans and their families have departed Gaza “over the last several days,” White House deputy national security adviser Jon Finer said Sunday on CBS Face the Nation, citing intensive negotiations.

Finer cautioned that there are still a “number of Americans” inside Gaza.

“(This is a) major priority and one that we’re going to continue to work at until every American who wants to leave is able to do so," he said.

Approximately 400 American citizens and their family members – about 1,000 people total – were stuck in Gaza and are seeking to leave, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing last Tuesday.

Efforts to secure safe passage for foreign nationals in Gaza were stymied by Hamas and a slew of logistical challenges exacerbating a dire humanitarian situation as thousands of foreigners, including hundreds of Americans, remained trapped in the war-torn region.
A breakthrough was finally reached last week to allow foreign passport holders and a group of critically injured civilians to depart through the Rafah border crossing, with the first group departing last Wednesday.

I have the impression that Gaza people speak three languages, whatever language is spoken in Gaza, whatever language is spoken in Israel, and English.
In regards to language, I strongly suspect that the day to day language of a significant majority of Gazans is Arabic (levant, not Egyptian dialect- evidently dialects matter a lot in Arabic).

Some Gazans undoubtably have varying degrees of fluency in English, but I suspect that they are a relatively small minority. Likewise, though Hebrew is spoken in Israel, I suspect that the only Gazans who speak it to varying degrees of fluency are those working in Israel.

Though both Hebrew and Arabic are Semitic languages, it is said that the level of interchangeability between the two is low. Probably like French and Romanian- both Latin based, but not nearly as close as say, Spanish and Italian.

As a side note, English is very widely spoken in Israel. Evidently, however, there were fears that English was overtaking Hebrew as the preferred daily language. The Israelis then concluded that daily use of Hebrew was needed as a unifying factor. So, official use of spoken and written Hebrew on a daily basis is said to have been "dialed up".

Very good explanation.
I will only add that Arabic and English are taught in Israeli schools.

IDF says it has hit 2,500 targets since beginning of ground invasion

The Israel Defense Forces have hit 2,500 targets in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the ground invasion, according to a post on X by IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari.

Hagari said the military was engaging in "face-to-face battles" in Gaza, as well as using aerial bombardment to destroy what it considers to be "terrorist infrastructure," weapons warehouses and outposts.

At least 9,700 people are estimated to have been killed in Gaza since the outbreak of war on Oct. 7, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Over 2,100 of those deaths have occurred since Israeli troops began conducting operations on the ground last week.

It is so very clear that HAMAS is using these hospitals, ambulances, and routes that should be "safe" to hide and launch attacks. There has now been nearly 4 weeks of warnings for people to move out of these locations. Those organizations that pushed back saying they can't move patients, they won't evacuate.. I think they might need to be looked at. WHY? So it might be difficult to accomplish, it isn't ideal (what is in a war zone??), they are worried about their patients, but NOT moving is putting those patients in more danger because HAMAS is in that hospital making it a target.

I said it before, but if they would have began moving people way back when, they would be moved by now. Of course the best scenario is HAMAS leaves the hospital and patients can be cared for without Israel attacking, but when terrorists are operating in and under your hospital, you and your patients are NOT safe even if Israel isn't bombing the area.

US shoots down another drone targeting American troops in Syria

WASHINGTON – US forces shot down another one-way attack drone today that was targeting American and coalition troops near their base in Tel Baider, Syria, a US official says on the condition of anonymity because the official is not authorized to discuss the strike.

There is no information immediately available on the origin of the attack drone, but it marks at least the 32nd attack on US and coalition military facilities in Iraq and Syria since October 17. To date there have been at least 17 attacks in Iraq and 15 in Syria. At least 21 servicemembers have been injured by the attacks but all have returned to duty, the Pentagon says.

Lapid to families of hostages: Opposition will back ‘any deal, however far-reaching’

Opposition leader Yair Lapid meets with relatives of Israelis being held captive in Hamas-ruled Gaza by Palestinian terrorists.

Lapid tells the families that in a recent meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he stressed “the opposition will back any step, any deal, however far-reaching it may be. The important thing is that the hostages return.”

“There is no price too expensive. [The captives] need to come back and it’s our duty to bring them back,” adds Lapid in a post on X.

Netanyahu: Yahya Sinwar doesn’t care about Gazans, ‘is acting like a little Hitler in his bunker’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar “doesn’t care about his nation and is acting like a little Hitler in his bunker.”

In the final days of his life, German Chancellor Adolf Hitler hid out in a Berlin bunker and blamed the German people for the country’s defeat in World War II. They “deserved to perish,” he said.

“[Sinwar] cares about his people as much as he does about a speck of dust,” says Netanyahu.

Israel-Hamas war live: Hospital blast ‘done by other team’, says Biden, after Israel claims it has proof of failed rocket launch within Gaza (theguardian.com)

One day, when Israel's war with Hamas is over and Israel has rid its border of terrorism, then I'd like to read Tony Blinken's book (which I am sure one day he will write, God willing.) This guy must get on the plane home and need a really stiff drink.

IDF releases information on the 36th Division’s operations in the Gaza Strip over the past week, during which its forces led a maneuver across the territory, reaching its coastline.

“The role of the division is to surround Gaza City, to attack and destroy selected targets, including significant assets, and the headquarters of the Hamas terror organization,” the IDF says in a statement. It says the 36th Division — made up of infantry forces, tanks, artillery, and combat engineers — struck some 1,600 Hamas targets, including infrastructure used by the terror group, weapon depots, anti-tank missile positions and observation posts.

The IDF says the division also killed more than 300 Hamas operatives amid the fighting. It adds that in the last few hours alone, some 50 Hamas sites were hit and several gunmen were killed in close-quarter fighting.

The division has been moving at a slow pace, in order to properly clear areas of potential threats, including tunnels which are later destroyed.

A major threat that the division is working to counter is the large amount of tunnels Hamas has, from which operatives pop out and launch RPGs at armored vehicles, and attempt to ambush forces.

Still, the 36th Division has identified that Hamas has recently struggled to carry out large-scale organized attacks on troops, after Israeli airstrikes killed senior Hamas field commanders.Heavy artillery and air strikes have been carried within just a few hundred meters of the Israeli forces to push back any Hamas operatives seeking to target troops.

The military says it has ways to target Hamas operatives inside tunnels as well.

Amid the incursion, the division made various adjustments to counter Hamas’s use of drones to drop explosives on troops in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, rockets have not been fired at Israel from the areas that the 36th Division captured.

The IDF believes the ongoing stage in the ground offensive will last several months, in order to achieve the objectives — eliminating Hamas’s Gaza City stronghold — with minimal casualties to Israeli forces.

Emily Hand, an 8-year-old girl from Kibbutz Be’eri, who was reported killed in the Hamas assault on October 7, is now believed to be alive and among those held hostage in Gaza. The family was informed of this by Israeli authorities five days ago, Channel 12 reports.

In the Channel 12 studio, Natalie, Emily’s sister, asks to try to speak directly to Emily, and looks directly into the camera: “I want to tell you that we are doing everything to get you home. We know you are being held hostage. We love you so much and miss you.”

Natalie says the family had cried for Emily when they were informed she had been murdered. “We were told that she had been murdered. We were in mourning,” she says. “On October 31, they told us that it was highly likely that she had been abducted.”

Emily was at a friend’s house on the kibbutz on October 7, Natalie says, and her friend and her friend’s mother were also apparently abducted. Their family was also initially told they had been killed, Natalie says.

Natalie notes that Emily also has Irish citizenship. She says the Irish authorities have promised to do whatever they can to help.

Their father Thomas had told CNN in an emotional interview on October 12 that he welcomed the news Emily was dead, “because that is the best news of the possibilities that I knew.”
