And the plot thickens again my God why are we being drip fed all these details so ayub actually showed these messages between him snd jay that state jay lost his room key but surely jay wasn't staying in an apartment on his own and could have either banged down the door and woke his mate or got a new one from reception maybe he didn't know you could get a replacement being his first trip abroad without parents but ayub would have known and being such a good samaratian couldn't ayub just have brought jay to his hotel and walked to reception with him and encouraged him to stay with his mates

Crazier & crazier...

Snipped...
...When quizzed by former detective Mark Williams-Thomas, Ayub says he was woken up by a phone call from an unnamed friend of Jay saying he was “in a ditch” and had been “cut by a cactus”.

More from MWT (different from the one above)

This clears up the Ofelia question - MWT says AQ told him he saw Jay talking to her 'in the rear view mirror' as he was moving the car.

A source close to the case told the Mirror that investigators are still hoping to find the 19-year-old alive and are not working on the basis he was "missing feared dead".

They surely can’t believe he is in the area of the last ping then. Perhaps that’s why they also called off the search. Maybe they have other information that suggests he may be being held or in hiding. JMO.

Jay Slater update issued by Spanish police in search for missing teen

Jay Slater has now been missing for more than three weeks in Tenerife and while Spanish police have called off a search for the teen they have said they have not given up hope of finding him alive

A source close to the case insisted investigators were not working on the basis Jay was “missing feared dead”. And they have insisted they are still pursuing several lines of inquiry.

Asked whether the investigation had moved on and police now had a clearer idea of what had happened to Jay, a spokesman for the Civil Guard said: “The investigation is ongoing and several lines of inquiry are being pursued.”

All rather cryptic, but reading between the lines, the police seem to suggest that they don't believe he's dead. I wonder if that's why they called off the search, and are being evasive with the family. Perhaps they have new information which, as yet, they can't release to his family or to the public.

Yes sounds like they have a new theory or new information. Doubt they will give any details though

If the Mirror/Express is reporting this accurately, then the Spanish Police definitely have intel that has not been released to the public. It's inconceivable that JS would have survived for this length of time unaided.

Would Spanish police actually talk to the Mirror/Express though?? Maybe someone in the force leaked this info for payment? Who knows ! Sincerely hope other avenues are being explored behind the scenes anyway
