Maybe it wasn't a cadaver dog. Maybe it was a drug dog. Or who knows, as crazy as this has been, maybe one of those 8 people in that <modsnip> house is not around any more. Maybe that's who the dog hit on. Makes as much sense as anything else that's happening in this case.
 
Didnt parents leave at the same time MW did first interview? That bothers me. moo

When I was in college, back in the early 80s, I lived in a 3 brm/2 ba house with the manager of the pizza place I worked at and her boyfriend, and there were probably at any time 3-5 others living there or bunking out on the couch. I don't recall any drugs going on besides a little (very little) weed going on. We were just young 20-somethings trying to pool together what little money we had to have a roof over our head and a pot to p*$$ in.

eta: the longer I'm on this board, I beginning to sense my background isn't traditional or may be considered abnormal. I was born in 1960, I grew up in a 2 parent household (parents go to church), went to college and completed 2 post-grad degrees. Yet, I'm beginning to sense there is a class/political/lifestyle divide here. As a result, we're so very quick to label something as nefarious, if it doesn't conform to our experiences or beliefs.
 
This is EXACTLY why witnesses don't come forward, don't want to talk to LE and stay away from the media. Now, the interweb is alive with rumors about meth, paternity, flophouses, cocaine, kidnapping, murder, etc.

Really this is getting way out of hand.

Well heck, I might as well put this thought into words: I haven't read or seen any video of the witnesses who claim to have seen the man walking and holding a baby say anything about the baby moving. When I first read about "a man walking and holding a baby, not dressed appropriately for the weather, late at night", I thought that maybe the baby was dead so it would not matter if the baby was dressed or covered with a blanket. I still don't know, but if it turns out to be true about the man carrying the baby; the baby being dead would explain a few things.

This is a big IF. If DB called MW's # for drugs, it could be that more than one person delivered the drugs. The person who took the phones could be unrelated to Lisa's disappearance. Another "druggie" could have taken the baby after DB passed out. For what purpose I have no clue, but that would explain the sighting of the man with the baby. Drugs would also explain DB's poly failure and her unwillingness to talk to LE again.

And I keep thinking about MW saying that had only 1 phone for 8 people. Somebody that came to the house (assuming he/she and/or they are from MW's house) saw the 3 phones and thought "Cool, now we can have 4 phones for 8 people".

The reporter called it a flop house for lack of better words imo he also said the the house was small with pple crammed in one room, and called it a "bad scene"

Hi! First post! Please be gentle.

Something is bothering me about this turn of events. I can't put my finger on it, but it doesn't feel right. Occam's Razor. These theories being bandied about are too complex and convoluted. That sort of planning, cloak and dagger kind of stuff only happens in spy movies. The likely resolution to this case is a simple motive with one to two players. I don't know who. I don't know the motive. But I do know that we only have MW's word on this new turn of events, and none of us know if her claims are verifiable. Is she telling the truth? Who knows! She could be looking for her 15 minutes of fame for all we know. It's possible that LE has never contacted her at all, that she has nothing to do with the case. We have only her word saying that she's involved here. LE will not confirm nor deny per policy I would imagine.

The other thing that bothers me is MSM's involvement. I get the feeling (theory only) they're paying for and driving this entire thing. Maybe due to ratings/numbers with the CA trial? Everyone is hoping to catch the next train to ratings and journalism stardom.

I guess I just smell a rat. Not sure where the stink is coming from. But it's a big stink.

We have made an informed decision not to open a general-theories thread for Lisa at this time.

We trust our posters to clearly identify when they are speculating/ theorizing, and to support those theories with the facts as we know them.

And we trust our readers to know that, when they read a post that does not contain links to facts or that relies on a particular interpretation of the facts as we know them, then they should consider that post a theory and give it appropriate weight.

We do have a no-discussion thread where WSers can post their current theories about the case here:

I agree completely. I'm just floored at all the rumors that are flying. I had no idea what a big part that played in following a missing child case online from the beginning. The past several months have been a real education for me here. Before then, I just followed and (mostly) lurked on Unidentified and Cold Cases threads.

I still have no theory on what happened to Lisa, partly because I can't even tell fact from fiction at this point. It's hard to form an opinion when you don't really know what you're dealing with, or at least it is for me.
