Instead of buy a gas can I would have been buying an extra phone charger to go through the desert. She's in a rental. All she had to do was call for help. Bet the charger would have been cheaper, too.

I don't know what route she took, but it's a straight shot along I-10 to Mesa or up I-15 through Las Vegas to Salt Lake City.

I've driven both routes many times and never needed to carry extra cans of gas.

Unless she was traveling back desert roads for some reason (I have no idea why, since that would only lengthen her travel time without making her route any shorter), I see no reason for the gas cans.

It isn't Wild West Days out here. We have gas stations, Starbucks and even bottled water. Jeeze, Louise!

I wonder if she sent the sex recording to his friends?

I kinda doubt that she did, or it would have come up in some of the friend`s testimony. But I certainly think that she was threatening to ruin him in the church and with his friends. Hard to understand the mind of one so evil. Even Travis mentioned her ``evilness`` .... poor guy. I don`t think he even realized just what strenghth of evil he was up against ... who would ever think that someone could even think of doing something like that to him. I can imagine that his heart just sunk when she showed up. :doorhide:

Hi Travis ... smile and say cheese .... evil, evil monster

Agree, his shower would be preferable as it already had blood in it. The thought of her either standing on or over his dead body in that small space is haunting, however.

:(

I would think it would be the last place to shower as you are further contaminating his body with your dan (her own blood, hair, etc...) and there is no guarantee that it wouldn't lodge beneath his body rather than running down the drain.

(That all sounded quite horrible - sorry.)

And by the way, did anyone ever come up with a scenario where she would have a case of costco water in the trunk of the rental with the gas cans etc.,? When did she make a costco stop? Did she bring the case with her to the car rental agency? Wouldn't the rental agent remember her dragging a case of water around? Costco keeps great records too. I wish he would have quized her on the water---just another stupid detail to trip her up.

She doesn't strike me as the type ! to have a Cosco card. Maybe she did take it from Travis home! He'd be more likely to have a Cosco card! She had no need for one.
She lived with her grandparents! And bounced from job to job! Spent most of the time traveling the dusty highways to meet men. She did all the chasing!

I wonder why so little was done in this case???

My guess based on nothing but my own opinion is that LE felt so secure with the evidence they had of her being at the crime scene they felt it wasn't necessary. They probably thought her blood, prints and photos were a slam dunk on their own. After all, she documented the murder, they probably felt so secure with that evidence.

:floorlaugh:
The jury by now know she's evil!

Speaking of the Jury, I have watched her answering their questions several times, and noticed she actually seems to think they believe her, or are truly interested in her giving further explanation to several details. I say this by the way she answers the questions, as opposed to the combative manner which she answers Juan Martinez who she knows is her adversary.

MOO

I think it was just a lie because she had to have a way to clean up and she did not want the jury to know she was evil enough to shower standing over his body

The more I think about it, the more I think the Costco water was to clean up with: (1) If she brought it so as not to stop to buy water or drinks, why keep it in the trunk? (2) While I don't think she's above standing over him to shower, if you go back and look at the photo of him lying dead in the shower, it's difficult to picture how someone could stand over him and bathe, (3) The crime scene photos of the shower walls shows streaks of blood that would have been disturbed by someone showering, (4) We know she wore long pants during the incident, perhaps long sleeves as well? (both would somewhat contain her exposure to blood.), and, (5) We know she washed towels, perhaps she used wet towels to "sponge bathe" herself before leaving, only to use the Costco water at a rest stop to clean more thoroughly.
And as far as showing up looking rough at RB's, he was just an alibi anyway.

CVS 8:31PM
Starbucks 8:41PM
Arco 8:42PM

Not a lot of time for "skateboarding"

so it took her 10 minutes to go across the parking lot from CVS to Starbucks and get her order, but only a minute to get to the Arco, that there is not direct route to, get out of the card and run her card and pump gas??? hmm

There seems to have been very little computer/phone forensics done. Nothing like what we saw with the CA case where they could track her pings over the course of weeks, all texts from various phones, etc...

I wonder why so little was done in this case???

I agree! And when Flores was on the stand IIRC he said he didn't access TA's MySpace account until a year and a half after the murder? That seems a little delayed!

I did. Did I miss something?

Det Flores did read the portion right from document.

Juan: Please take a look at ah exhibit 275. Are you familiar with that yes or no?
Det Flores: Yes, I am
Juan: And with regard to that item, is that the ah.. is that the .. well what is it... first of all?
Det Flores: It.. it's a copy of ah instant message emails sent back an forth
Juan: Between whom?
Det Flores: Between Jodi Arias and Travis Alexander
Juan: And you were asked previously on cross examination about this reference to a 3 hole wonder, correct?
Det Flores: Yes
Juan: Is that the that contains that reference?
Det Flores: Yes, it is
Juan: With regard to that reference involving that particular comment, um why was that comment made as indicated in that document?
Nurmi: Objection, calls for speculation
Judge Stephens: Sustained as phrased
Juan: Well let's go to .. go to page 8 the bottom at the bottom, what is he complaining about?
Det Flores: What page was that again sir?
Juan: Eight, at the bottom
Det Flores reading the document
Juan: Four lines from the bottom
Det Flores: Ah references to being used..sexually.. by Ms Arias.
Juan: What is he saying
Det Flores: Uh specifically, let me read it from here "I think I was little more then a dildo with a heartbeat to you".
Juan: And that's what he's saying to her, right?
Det Flores: Yes

The exhibit was not entered into evidence. If the item isn't entered into evidence the jury will not get it in the deliberation room. They only receive items that are actually entered into evidence.

I'll post the link again with Det Flores reading the above portion I quoted.

Very haunting! I wonder if she stepped over him to shower! After seeing the latest video of her rummaging thru the garbage! Nothing would surprise me. I shiver to think she sang in the shower like in the video! Laughing triumphantly.

I' had never heard the word contemporaneous until her!

Very true, however, we aren't even certain how much of his blood she would have to wash off her skin. She most likely wore a jacket with long sleeves, she had long pants on, her feet were covered, she may have had her hair tucked under a baseball cap. Or at least this is what I envision someone wearing who doesn't want to leave a trace of themselves being there. What she wasn't counting on is Travis' resistance, and having to haul him back to the shower. If anything I would think her DNA would be on his body, therefore she had to put him back there and turn the shower on him.

But what I am wondering is where did the case of costco water come from? She mentions no costco stops or bringing it along. It only "appears" when she has to come up with a story of "coming to" with blood on her hands. It smells like a big stinky lie to me and one that might be easy to prove.

not sure if these have been posted

dunno if i could go in there after everything, especially when the luminol/blood is still there :(

Looking at these photos really makes you realize how thoroughly they investigated throughout the house. How could she have not left a single fingerprint anywhere else? I'm really starting to think that she snuck into the house early morning hours and waited around until TA woke up around 1:30 pm. They did not find a single print of hers anywhere downstairs or upstairs! I think apart from a very brief period when she had gloves on the entire time she was there!

She could have cleaned up in the bedroom area but the entire house??? No prints in the laundry room, kitchen, office, little bathroom downstairs where they found a couple of drops of blood?

Very strange!

It is quite possible she stopped somewhere between Mesa and West Jordan, perhaps even checked into a motel (paying cash) to freshen up, do her hair and make up before meeting RB. I cannot imagine she showed up at his house, after hours on the road, in those pigtails or her hair all crimped from being wet and drying that way. She was, after all, hours late arriving to see him, and with the time she likely would have left Travis' house there was a large gap.

BBM: This makes sense to me for a couple of reasons :

1. The rental car guy who testified said there were "stains" that looked like "Kool-Aid" stains -- which no doubt, was blood stains ... and the floor mats were missing from the rental car ! I mean, who doesn't turn in the floor mats from a rental car -- don't they charge you for that ? Yep ... those mats had traces of blood on them, IMO ...

From looking at the crime scene photos, there was blood everywhere -- and JA is NOT as "smart" as she thinks she is -- so she probably had one helluva time getting cleaned up in Travis' bathroom ...

JMO, but I think she had blood on her when she left Travis' home ...

2. Wasn't she late getting to Burns' home -- and didn't she tell Burns she got lost -- I know, that would be from Arizona to Utah ...

Nah ... I think it's possible she stopped at some motel -- maybe one of those pay by-the-hour places ... :waitasec: do they still have them anymore ?

Anyway ... JMO ...

Just checking in for any updates ... and will check back later ...

Have a nice evening everyone !

Travis! Hey, guess what? I'm coming to Arizona! I figured, ahhh what the heck, it's not too far out of my way...

You cannot rent a hotel/motel room without a credit card upfront. Even if you dispose of the bill upon check out with cash, they will demand a card on file upfront in case you leave without settling up.
