You know, I was reminded of that movie when she mentioned vampires/San Francisco since Lost Boys was filmed in Santa Cruz which is approx. 50 miles south of San Fran.

I vaguely remember some JA/Santa Cruz connection - like maybe she mentioned it an email or took photos there or something.

i was wondering why they would go to san francisco to hunt vampires - thats not what my friends hunt in san fran :waitasec:

No offense, but just thanks a lot. I love that movie.

Or should I say I did love it.

Now am I only going to think of JA????:please:

Lol, I just put it at the top of the queue for Netflix. I guess I'll see if JA's association with it will ruin it for me. I kind of doubt it. I love the sexy music, Jason Patric was beautiful and the storyline was so entertaining! (I will report back though.)

hi all first post wooot!

been lurking this forum for a while now and finally got registered to first say thanks for you folks posting cliff notes of the trial. I live in AZ and needless to say this whole crime\trial has been a long time coming and I pray for justice.

looking forward to Mr. Martinez cross exam on the defendant. I anticipate her finding a way to confirm her guilt that this was a premeditated murder and eliminating any doubt that may exist amongst the jurors.

Up to this point I have only seen one mistake by the prosecution and that was the medical examiner getting the sequence of weapon use wrong. Other than that the defense team hasn't proven self defense at all so far...and I don't anticipate them pulling a rabbit out of their hat.

oh and I know a lot of you are digging the fact the jury gets to ask questions but my experience on 2 trials as a juror its kinda over rated :) of all the questions submitted the attorneys and judge meet and they object and throw out like 80% of the questions...doesn't hurt to ask I say though!

anyways this forum has provided better updates than any of the news in town as I just don't have time to watch the whole thing.

keep those cliff notes coming! :rocker:

I googled "Jodi Arias Santa Cruz" and this is what popped up:

http://www.myspace.com/jodiarias/photos/8561956#{"ImageId":8561956}

"Dad n Me on the Santa Cruz Beach BoardWalk". The very same boardwalk where the fair scene from the movie "The Lost Boys" was filmed. I checked out their website. They don't have a ride called "The Zipper", but they DO have "The Dipper".

Jodi needs somebody that will under oath say she was physically threatened or harmed by Travis. I guess she took a million pics, even took pics of a shirt and panties, but never took pics of bruises. Now, rumor had it that old bf Matt was going to back her up, and her cellie is going to tell some tale, but it's not enough. Jodi getting on the stand, it turns out, is not enough. The domestic violence expert will not be enough. You don't kill someone for raising their voice in verbal abuse.

Travis was completely wet in the shower, we saw it with our own eyes - images with time stamps, and Jodi had pants and shoes on.

Welcome, Paladin! :seeya:

...and wouldn't be the last repeat offender.

If she is not executed, she will find a way to kill again.

Travis Alexander may have been a sexual virgin -- until he met Jodi Arias.

Jodi Arias may have been a 'murder virgin' -- until she met Travis Alexander.

Serial killers always start with the first victim.

There are manslaughter and aggravated manslaughter perpetrators who may kill but once.

And then there are the truly evil, totally depraved, meticulous schemers who live to murder.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jodi Arias.

Yes, she is truly a frightening individual. So glad I don't have her in my family.:moo:

Dr Drew suggested both TA and JA were in a dysfunctional relationship that persisted.
On the Drew program the PhD sidekick asked incredulously “why would TA open the door to a crazy lady at 4 AM?”
To me the answer is an obvious DUH!!!!
TA was a Mormon elder trying to mend his ways of having had impermissible sex. He began dating chaste Mormon women both pre and post JA. The girl going with him to Cancun was nice and chaste and merely a platonic friend.
TA at the age of 30 had a choice:
Dating nice Mormon women with NO possibility of sex until marriage - for TA that was likely to have been a LONG wait. Under the circumstances perhaps too long.
OR
Dating nice Mormon women while having access to a “booty call” candidate on the side.
One comment was that TA was trying to mend his ways – ie renounce premarital sex – so that he would be eventually “temple worthy”.
But his phone sex with JA and his “open door policy” at 4 AM days before escorting nice Mormon lady to Cancun showed TA viewing JA as another “rush” or “hit of sexual cocaine”.
Once TA had experienced erotic and exotic sex - ie pornographic sex with JA- the young Mormon elder was “hooked” on “sexual phonics”. Evidence was that both JA and TA had shaved off their pubic hair. You see this hairless phenomenon in *advertiser censored*. TA’s interest in JA’s post-coital orifices is another somewhat sordid tipoff. TA enjoyed acting out assorted sex phantasies with JA. TA did NOT get that nor would he ever get that from nice chaste Mormon ladies that would be candidates for celestial marriage.
The sexual escapades they both indulged in on June 4 2008 was something TA was NOT going to see in Cancun or anytime soon in the Mesa single ward. So in truth- JA was indeed TA’s “dirty little secret” or his little 4AM booty call vixen.
But it is also highly likely that many sexually restrained Mormon men indulge in “dirty little secrets” called online *advertiser censored*. I have heard that Utah is unexpectedly high in internet *advertiser censored* use.

BBM Mimia Hall (going to Cancun woman) was not asked if she was "intact", not asked about any sexual history. We do not know if she was chaste. We do know she felt no sparks with TA and that she did not have sex with him.

A lot of nice Mormon women have sex before marriage. It does appear that no Mormon women wanted to have sex with Travis. In my experience Mormon gals prefer college educated men. More income means the wife can be a SAHM. I realize TA made $$, but it was with PPL and PPL was having problems when TA worked for them and I imagine the salary was all over the place, PPL being a MLM.

While Lisa Andrews did not understand the mechanics of an erection...it does not mean she was chaste. We know she did not have sex with TA. Heck, my mother had 3 kids and did not know much about human sexuality.

Brazilian waxes..and manscaping are pretty common now (strange, I was a child of the 1970's) but not only in *advertiser censored* flicks now.

Sorry, do not know what "pornographic sex" is.

I agree that Mormon men, esp. in Utah (not only in Utah) view way too much *advertiser censored* and take trips to Mexico...

I will wager that JA ‘s story regarding the use of a knife and gun will run something like this:
The knife was on the bathroom sink counter OR perhaps in her pocket SIMPLY because it had been used in rope tying and bondage tricks during sex.
The gun was in her purse OR on the sink since she had brought the weapon for self-protection on this excursion across the desert from Northern CA to Pasadena and then on to Mesa - ALONE. ( She had to steal the weapon from Grandpa since she otherwise would be defenseless in her travels) While TA showered JA began dressing and putting on her “make up” at the sink where a mirror was available. The gun “conveniently” and “luckily” was close at hand ( JA will use the word “serendipity” in her testimony!)
SO. . . when TA lunged and embraced her in a malevolent hug they both fell backwards and tumbled. JA then managed to get the gun from the counter and shoot him once. The bullet merely dazed him and in his rage TA maintained the murderous offensive. She fired again but the gun jammed. Then she reached in the pants and found her knife available for defense. She thrust first into the chest. He screamed at her in pain and twisted around – all the while JA kept up the forward thrusts which included the blows on TA’s backside.
TA got her in his clutch while fighting in the bedroom. Finally with one more superhuman effort JA slashed forward onto her pursuer’s neck and scored a final lethal blow to this would be killer.

This is the outline of her defense. She will of course have little memory for precise specifics since the melee after the fact was one big “awful” “whirl”.

The Lost Boys was a brilliant find and then Santa Cruz. Smart people on here.

Well, don't forget they hire a firm to get public opinions and ideas sometimes, so don't say anything too brilliant at this late date. She's tying her own noose, as someone put it.

Ah, tomorrow we still have to work our way through her 20s. Good Night All.

:eek:fftobed:

Just a hunch that she may have been living near Santa Cruz when they filmed the movie and maybe it was big news back then. She could have developed a fascination with that movie and vampires ever since.
Her dad and her may have been near the filming.

JMO
Watching a DVR replay of trial from today. Jodi was asked about how she met Bobbi. Jodi brings up how he was talking on "party lines" and she says, "but I never got on those party lines".

I call BS and IMO this is how she met Bobbi on a party line which is a 900 number type thing where people call up to talk and meet other people. She quickly changes the subject and there is no explanation why she brought up the party line.

She is lying throughout much of her testimony. Bits of truth and lies throughout.

Its so ironic when she complains how Victor was the jealous one and would want her to walk on the inside of the sidewalk. I think she enjoyed making Victor jealous. She brought up another time how she ran into someone she knew and Victor got jealous. I think she would make him jealous on purpose.

This girl is all about jealousy and she used it as a tool as well as she was very very jealous herself.

Gotta say - Catching up on the trial today, watching JA on the stand, and all that comes to mind is Juan Martinez saying: "…And then she lulled him to sleep". I think I'd rather JM send me off to sleep than Miss Creeper-double-feature. Goodnight all! Thanks for all the great info & insights!

While I agree that money and the good life constitute the big story in JA attraction to TA sex is a prime mover in this story too.
My hunch is that there was relatively little prohibited sex going in the Mesa Single;s ward. Most of these people at “Family Home Evening” and the “camp outs” were chaste.
TA and Mormon sexual practices – are best characterized as ordinary and unimaginative - (just my guess based on the impression from girls that testified).
The Bishops interview of men seeking temple recommends will delve into sexual practices – in detail if single and in general if married.
If you heard the Brothern (General Authorities) from SLC speak during General Conference or at BYU in Provo UT you would know that :
“pornographic sex” is strictly to be avoided. By this I mean - anal sex, ménage a trois, use of dildos( is probably discouraged by the Bishoprics since it degrades the sacred act of intercourse) The practice of bondage also degrades the sacrosanct nature of intercourse. It is likely that Bishops will discourage oral sex to all temple supplicants since for many orthodox Mormons the sex act is really for the purpose of procreation.
If the Mesa Bishop knew the content and context of TA’s sexual conduct with JA – even based on June 4 2008 serious repentance would be in store. TA would be placed on probation for probably a year where during that time he would have to be 100% chaste. The Mesa Bishop would have been aggrieved about anal sex, oral sex, and TA’s bondage practices, his use of phone sex for purposes of mutual masturbation in addition to the consternation engendered by TA’s apparent “booty call” behavior resulting in garden variety coitus.

Great first post and :wagon:

Jodi's dad should demand a paternity test.
http://www.myspace.com/jodiarias/photos/8561956#{"ImageId":8561956}

Oh nooooo...I'm having some warped thoughts about the fingers on the photo that was flashed last Friday. Hint: They weren't Caucasian.
I'm off to bed before I get in trouble. G'night!
I looked through those pics...her dad does look like he lifted weights. That's the first pic I've seen of her older sister.

ETA:
There's also a pic in another album from her modeling gig in Nevada with 3 other girls. First time I noticed that one too!

More comments on her testimony....

When she was talking about how she hit the "back button" to find the letters
Bobbi wrote. She was snooping on him trying to find some dirt and found it.

She then left work to confront him about the letters because she was too upset to
work. No, IMO, she was in a jealous rage.

"I took all of my belongings out of his house and I was going to move in with
my gram. I guess I felt jealous a little bit."

Sure Jodi, just a LITTLE bit....yeah right.

She says she went and confronted Bobbi but didnt want to make too big a scene of it.
Sure Jodi, I bet you made a HUGE SCENE.

The whole part about Bobbi threatening her family is just like she told about
the Ninjas knowing about her family and threatening to kill her family. This is the exact same story. Juan has to see this like we do. .

Jodi is quite the story teller.

Just popped back on to say once Nurmi asked Jodi if she killed Travis he opened the door for jM to ask her every minute detail about the murder. I can't wait.
