Jumping off your post - it occured to me that JA's mom/sister/others don't live in AZ do they? I thought they were from Yreka. Which begs me to wonder where they are living during the trial. It's my understanding they do not come from a family of means, and the expense of not working, staying at a hotel/rental would be quite costly. It's probably irrelevent, but am curious how they are funding their stay. 3 months is a long time (if that's how long this trial is going to last).

JA's mother is selling her artwork on ebay to help finance her stay in Phoenix.:what:

It is putting me to sleep. Having a hard time staying awake. lol

yeah, I had that feeling too, like he could read me a bed time story. Not that he is boring but that calm demeanor...lol

Det: Flores was amazing. How many times have we seen in the news of a murderer getting out of prison because the detectives either abused their position or they screwed up protocol?

Flores did everything by.the.book.

i admire him, he didn't threaten , he gently and calmly steered jodi into the direction of truth. He was using a soft non threatening approach in order to make sure she was relaxed. His voice being so soft and gentle is probably due to technique, in order to make Jodi feel that he was on her side, that he understood, he was receptive to her feelings during the crime and aftermath.

I have nothing but respect for this man, and I don't usually like cops (The arrogant "Let's do what we want, we are above the law" types which are plenty in the UK) IMO

Watching Flores work that conversation was incredible. Jodi is like a 6 year old child who denies denies denies even in the face of pure 100% evidence!

I rather enjoyed watching jodi believe she was manipulating him by making him work hard to draw the ninja story out of her ! She thought she was leading HIM!

Good morning everyone!

I wanted to clarify one of my posts from last. I often forget that in written posts certain things don't translate well and the intended tone of a post can be lost. My post from last night was somewhat facetious but I did an awful job of conveying that.

I know for me that raises all sorts of questions about what happened with the order of injuries inflicted and it's also left me very confused about the basic laws of physics. ;)

Clarification: I thought what the defense was trying to suggest was absurd -- and the ME called her on it. Where the bullet went in and where it went out CLEARLY indicated that it HAD TO go through the brain. Unfortunately due to the delay in finding Travis' body decomp had set in so there was nothing left of the brain to test.

The defense attorney was essentially suggesting that since the ME could not actually examine the brain matter, the bullet could have missed the brain. And there was some possibility that the either the bullet took a stroll around the brain (hence not rendering Travis incapacitated) or the brain moved out of the bullet's trajectory. IMO, this was ridiculous then and is now. The ME appeared to be dumbfounded that the defense was so persistent about this. So was I.

That's all what I meant when I said I was left questioning the basic laws of physics. I'm still confident in those laws. I believe the ME's testimony and the order of the injuries. I apologize if I contributed to any of the confusion or conflict from last night.

wasn't another police woman supposed to have grilled her also? I thought yesterday that was the upcoming tape...guess I am confused per usual, lol.:rocker:

A person can understand right from wrong but be unfit to stand trial. A person can also be fit to stand trial but was legally insane when they committed the crime. This is not an opinion.

Thanks.

I honestly dont think JA is criminally insane and she sure knew right from wrong........the evidence shows that and covering and denying it too.

And the DT knows they cant prove she is insane either, imo.

IMO we will probably see some shopping around to sell *the letters* and more paintings for sale.

Admittedly, the investigator is very good, but his super soft voice is giving me the creeps.

He is good, but several times rather than letting the silence persist, he speaks up trying to convince her to continue. I wish in several of those instances he would have just waited for her to speak. He also interrupted her a few times when she was about to continue with a thought. I was frustrated by that.

He got a lot out of her. But somewhere along the way (in advance or spontaneously), IMO she decided to veer off into the ninja version.

(That said, I wouldn't have the patience to sit with her for 5 minutes, so I do appreciate how difficult his job is.)

I still think that tiny pencil she is using could cause great damage, IMO.

To give you some idea of how much blood loss occurred and how fast it could have been lost with the neck injury that Travis received, here is the link to a youtube video of a Buffalo Sabres hockey goalie who was struck with an ice skate during a game. The skate cut a 6" gash in his neck and severed his interior carotid artery.

Actually, it was his jugular. He was still receiving oxygenated blood to his brain. If his carotid was severed, he would have gone unconscious from the severe decrease in blood pressure to the brain. Plus, an arterial bleed is a little different from a veinous bleed.

IMO of his spinal cord was injured it would have been noted in the autopsy report.

Jodi stating that during the ninja attack Travis cried out that he couldn't feel his legs struck me as being based in truth. I think he did cry that out. I don't know what would have to be damaged for him to say that? Now that I think about it I have had one of my legs fall asleep because I sat funny too long and cut off the blood circulation so maybe it wasn't the spine that was hit. But whatever was damaged is important IMO because it goes to the suffering of the victim and I would want the ME to thoroughly investigate the victim with that in mind. I believe the main police officer did by asking, more than once, if the victim suffered .

OMGosh -- who would want a painting by a murderer hanging in their home. That would totally mess up my home's feng shui energy!

:floorlaugh:

I'm gonna scurry on over to e-bay and take a peek!

oh lord - Obama's speech needs to be over in the next 15 minutes.....

I also noticed that it seemed like everytime he was about to get a tidbit of info out of her his darn cell phone would ring! Why, oh why do detectives take their phones into interrogations?!!!! :waitasec:

Second, "crime of passion" does not mean jealousy or romantic rage. It means, in a legal sense, that the murder was spontaneous due to sudden, unbridled emotions. Like if you walk in a room and catch someone molesting your kid and you attack and kill the molester. That is not premeditation. It's likely voluntary manslaughter.

and his friends, Dr. Hugh's included says they knew immediately it was Jodi and verbatim a crime of passion

Where can one find the information on the content of the 'letters'? TIA

IIRC when jodi decided to be her own lawyer - she tried to enter into evidence letter she claimed he sent to her describing very bad crimes she claims he was admitting to - the prosecutor proved the were not authentic and the judge ruled the could not be entered into evidence - also advised JA she was in over her head and assinged atty's to her - but now super market tabloids are printing stories about them from "defense sources" so you can google the tabloids to find them - but at this point cannot be used as evidence at this point - imo, and i tend to believe the experts as to there authenticity moo

Where in the interview does she mention having pants with a zipper. I have never seen pants like that, but I am seeing what looks like a zipper in the dragging pic.

Zippers at the ankle are very common on active wear pants. It is so you can unzip them and take them off over your shoes. I have several pair like that. jmo

Once of those sickos out there who likes to buy murder memorabilia.

Wow, that was hard to watch re: Clint Malarchuk

I am so glad he survived. He didn't even want a stretcher, he said "Hell no" and skated off!

Was out of hospital the next day. unbelievable.
