To give you some idea of how much blood loss occurred and how fast it could have been lost with the neck injury that Travis received, here is the link to a youtube video of a Buffalo Sabres hockey goalie who was struck with an ice skate during a game. The skate cut a 6" gash in his neck and severed his interior carotid artery.

Oooh....I remember that. My hubby and I were watching the game at a pizza place when it happened. The entire place was silent and all eyes were glued to the set.

If someone else had made this point, I am sorry but way behind on reading posts. I feel that there is more evidence of premeditation in the interrogation when Detective F. tells her a neighbor saw her at the house that day. Jodi says she really never had contact with the neighbors. She then goes on to say she had blonde hair all the other times she was ever at Travis's house. To me this goes to more planning on Jodi's part to cover herself before going there. We know she had blonde hair when she rented the car. So of course this goes to more premeditation.

Jumping off your post - it occured to me that JA's mom/sister/others don't live in AZ do they? I thought they were from Yreka. Which begs me to wonder where they are living during the trial. It's my understanding they do not come from a family of means, and the expense of not working, staying at a hotel/rental would be quite costly. It's probably irrelevent, but am curious how they are funding their stay. 3 months is a long time (if that's how long this trial is going to last).

Just thinking out loud --

Borrowed someones Motor home and walmart parking lot?

Actually, it was his jugular. He was still receiving oxygenated blood to his brain. If his carotid was severed, he would have gone unconscious from the severe decrease in blood pressure to the brain. Plus, an arterial bleed is a little different from a veinous bleed.

You are correct, I got misinformation from the one of the videos. Thank you for the correction.

I believe that the ME stated that in the injury to Travis that both his carotid and jugular were severed if I heard that correctly.

OMGosh -- who would want a painting by a murderer hanging in their home. That would totally mess up my home's feng shui energy!

:floorlaugh:

I'm gonna scurry on over to e-bay and take a peek!

I was wondering if it was that couple that run the murder museum in California. They have some Gacy paintings.

I haven't caught up with the 13 pgs this morning (after the 96 from yesterday) - so pardon if this was already asked . . . . I just was thinking about the "sex video" that JA stated she and TA made on that last day. Don't know if his new Sony Camera had that capability or if there was a video camera . . . .

Here is my question - wonder if the "video" was a sado-masochistic sort with the duct tape (ie: tied up) and a knife and gun were used as "props" ? . . . thus lending more credence to having those items readily available in the bathroom?

my friend investigated a case where a man fell on an aquarium, which broke and the glass cut his throat. the wound was almost as bad as TA's---initially they thought it was a murder. there was blood everywhere. but when they reconstructed the scene, they found this guy ran all over the apartment trying to stop this massive bleeding----into the bathroom (towels were soaked in the sink), and all over, panicked, i'm sure at the blood loss. he wasn't up long, but long enough to leave blood all over his house before he collapsed.

Hi all! First time poster here, but I have been lurker since the case has started. I have been trying to keep up with the case, but with the odd hours of AZ, it has been hard for me to do at times. Most of my evening is watching the ending of the day while catching up here.

At first I thought Travis was shot first, but now I believe that the first wound was the stab to the heart. The time between the last pic of Travis alive (the close up of him in the shower) and the one of him on the floor with Jodi’s leg less than 2 minutes. I think she stabbed him, he busted out of the shower to the sink to check the wound, where he coughed up blood. When he realized what had actually happened, he did try to escape. Jodi, thinking that all this was going to be clean and fast with him never leaving the shower, followed him down the hall stabbing him frantically. He finally collapses at the end of the hall where she slits his throat. She drags him back into the bathroom where she shoots him for good measure, using a pillow to muffle the sound.

IMO, she had every intention of going there to kill him. She brought a gun, her hair was dyed, she did not take her own car, and she turned her phone off during her entry and exit of the state. I believe Travis did not know that pictures were being taken of him in the shower. My camera has a silence mode when you are in a museum and such, where you cannot hear the shutter and beep sound. I am sure that he had the best camera that money can buy, and these pics are not of ‘professional’ quality that Jodi claims to have. The only one that came out really good was the last one of his face. Which I think was when she opened the shower door and had a knife in her hand. He face had the look of surprise and fear. I believe it was only a second between that last picture and her first attack. But that is totally MOO.

Some things did jump out at me during the tape of her talking to detective. She did mention how she thought that one picture of him in the shower with the water on his face was ‘so great’. I wonder if that was the close up one that we have seen. That creeped me out. And when she did talk about the ninja attack, I do believe the majority of what Travis said and did happened, just it was by her own hands and not intruders.

I really can’t wait until they start again today. I brought my headphones to work in hopes I would catch a little bit so I don’t feel too far behind. But I would like to thank everyone for all the updates and discussions.

:welcome: :goodpost:

I have my youngest son home sick today. I'll have to get creative in order to watch testimony without being interrupted.

LOL This morning my husband told me that I was too consumed. I told him it was a good thing he didnt know all the nuances of this case, else I would surprise him by taking photos of him in the shower one morning.

Toys in attic is aerosmith

There's a line in the song from Pink Floyd "Toys in the attic, I am crazy"

A mothers love and denial go hand in hand.

Someone would need to prove it to me way beyond a reasonable doubt. I'd hang onto any shred of hope my child was innocent.

You would never have a child like that.

Hey all. I'm sitting here in the NYC tri-state area and there has been next to no media coverage on this trial (that I've seen). The other cases which we've compared this one to all had hours and hours of tv/print time. Is this the same in any of the other areas of the States? I'm at a loss to understand why. It seems like a get a daily update on Lindsey Lohans mental state and the Kardashian trash but nothing on this. WHich is a crying shame.

Everytime i get a coupla things ironed and come back here 3-4 pages have wizzed by. Could ya all slow it down a pace (kidding) :floorlaugh:

Jodi stating that during the ninja attack Travis cried out that he couldn't feel his legs struck me as being based in truth. I think he did cry that out. I don't know what would have to be damaged for him to say that? Now that I think about it I have had one of my legs fall asleep because I sat funny too long and cut off the blood circulation so maybe it wasn't the spine that was hit. But whatever was damaged is important IMO because it goes to the suffering of the victim and I would want the ME to thoroughly investigate the victim with that in mind. I believe the main police officer did by asking, more than once, if the victim suffered .

You are free to interpret what Jodi says in any way you choose.

I'm not believing a single word out of her mouth. The only thing she said that I believe was " there was a lot of blood" and that's because I actually saw the scene and the blood with my own eyes.

Bingo. Which negates the story she was telling Det Flores that the memory stick in the camera must have been from "some other time" she had been there. Brunette hair in the pics......

yeah, I had that feeling too, like he could read me a bed time story. Not that he is boring but that calm demeanor...lol

You are right. The monotone of his voice and the repetition. Course I was laying in a nice warm bed with my laptop on my lap. Could have contributed to the sleepiness. lol

I also noticed that it seemed like everytime he was about to get a tidbit of info out of her his darn cell phone would ring! Why, oh why do detectives take their phones into interrogations?!!!! :waitasec:

Lynn

There are usually other detectives on the other side of the mirror you see in the room. It is possible they were texting him about asking her a question because you can see him reading it. jmo

I dunno exactly but my camera is very, very similar to Travis (Fuji, not Sony) and mine has video. (It even has a helpful little video camera icon on the settings. ;))
