Jose Baez to read Casey Anthony's Statement regarding her daughter's memorial

The remains could still be at the Funeral home waiting for the family to have their private service. I think BC is intentionally misleading the media in order to give the A's the ability to do what they need to do without being hounded every step of the way. If he has to tell a few lies to do that, I say more power to him.

ITA!!! I am as nosy about this case as KC is guilty, but I really think that now that Caylee is no longer in the woods, it is none of our business how they handle what should be a very private matter. None of us know what they are gong through in that house really.

What an odd statement, remarkable not only for what it includes – “I can't stop my parents from doing what they want” – (waaah), but for what it omits.

Others have pointed out the absence of anything resembling an expression of love for her child.

In a more practical vein, Jose should have advised her how important it will be to her defense that she not be demonized by the public -her future jurors- any more than she has been already.

What better way than by acknowledging the people who have taken Caylee into their hearts, and thanking them for the time and effort so many people have given to Casey and her family in an effort to find her little baby.

But no. Instead, we get eight sentences, into which she crammed the word ‘I’ fourteen times, and mentioned the public only in the context of wishing that there would be no service at which the public could mourn her daughter.

This girl is in desperate need of better advisers.

You still have a church service with a coffin when your loved one is cremated. The service can also continue at the crematory (sp). The only difference is that the coffin goes into a furnace instead of the ground.

My grandmother's boyfriend was cremated, and he didn't have a service at all. Matter of fact, his wishes were to be immediately cremated. My grandmother was his significant other, however he had no children, and no other living relatives.

His statement is filled with Casey is a victim and her parents don't care about her feelings concerning her daughter, to reenforce that her daughter was taken from her, by her parents, and specifically her mother. moo

JB has already made it clear that he sees himself as a victim also.
Also reenforcing to Casey the idea that he alone is her one true advocate.
Also, Caylee's remains are probably at the A house in a urn, jmoo..not at a gravesight.

There are so many things Casey COULD have said:

"My heart aches that I can not be a part of my beloved daughter's memorial. It will be a sweet day when justice is served, the murderer of Caylee is found and I can be free to mourn with my family"

" I want to thank the public for the unending support of Caylee Marie. I ask everyone to hug my parents for me. Their grief is all-consuming--they will need your kind words and love."

"Please help me find the murderer of my precious daughter. Anyone , with ANY information, I beg of you to come forward"....


and the list can go on and on and on.

Instead, she speaks of herself, takes a verbal swing at her parents and has made no request to view Caylee's memorial---pouting in her cell, not watching because Cindy has control.

Unbelievable.

Actually, this statement from KC gives me my first gleam of hope that perhaps she is at least smart enough to realize that the worst thing she could have done in the statement was lie about her innocence and lie about her love for Caylee. How degrading to Caylee's memory for her murderess mother to plead for the killer to come forward, I think KC, as evil as she is, recognizes the atrocity of that. I don't care about the power struggle between KC and CA, but would rather the statement be what it was than to have had to read about how much she loved and missed her daughter and how badly she wanted the murderer found. I think what she didn't say was her way of acknowledging that she murdered her daughter.

When my ex-MIL was cremated there was no coffin. We had a memorial at her church with just her pictures present, and then we went to the cemetery where her ashes were placed in a niche in a wall, similar to a wall of safety deposit boxes, with a bronze plaque on the front showing her name and birth/date death. Her family 'visits' her there.

I just got a chance to read it. I'm actually surprised that the defense would allow her to make the statement.

Jb can't make her do, or refrain from doing anything. He can only advise her, and we all know how well KC listens to advice. She probably threatened to send a letter directly to the news media, which forced him to acquiesce in order to at least retain some control over what was said.

This entire sham is so pathetic. CA and KC are still using Caylee against each other. I think the cryptic talk between KC and LA at the jail were just a preview for us. Now this KC presser delivered by JB.

KC is again being cryptic to her family, letting them know the bus is rolling and they cannot get out of the way. I have said all long both CA and LA knew PRIOR to the 911 call what had happened. Now that CA has gone against KC in burial of Caylee, it will only be a matter of time before JB starts pointing fingers at the other A's.

If KC didn't want her parents to make funeral arrangements on her behalf, she should have thought about selling photos for the burial instead of her defense.

My question is: When will the A family see the bus coming? Do they see it now? Or will they only see it when it is individually running them over?

My dad was cremated and then buried with a tombstone. So it can be done both ways.

Thats the way it works. We didnt get my dads ashes for a week or two after he was cremated. Its not like we abandoned him there. We had no choice in the matter.

On a seperate issue, anyone else think that along with this being a dig from JB to BC, that it may have also been KC doing a bit of tit for tat after her mom put the caylee band in her socks? ( I think the Caylee band was a clear message, not support).

They may never lay her to rest in the ground, they could possibly just take her home and put her on the mantle.
I personally do not think that they will bury her in the ground now. BC commented a few weeks ago about the thought of cremation because of the worry of grave robbers and such..
I think this will be the only service little Caylee has.

They very well could do this. My cousin was killed in a car accident and was cremated, my aunt had an urn specially made and it still rests on her mantle today. I didn't understand this at first, but it makes my aunt feel better. I have seen her walk by the urn and kiss her fingers, then touch the urn, my mom says sometimes she talks to Craig, much like some people do when they go to visit a grave. My aunt isn't weird about it, she knows my cousin is dead, but it brings her comfort to have him close. Nothing wrong with that IMHO.

As for Casey's statement...it was sickening and I can't believe JB read it.
