Not sure why the link is not posting. Here is another one.
Josh Duggar transferred to federal facility
On June 24, Joshua Duggar was transferred out of the Washington County Detention Center to begin serving his prison sentence.www.nwahomepage.com
I am not certain that sex offenders with child convictions are allowed time off for good behavior. The judge followed the sentencing guidelines (which are set in stone) for the crimes that Josh was convicted of. He was not convicted of sexual assault. If Josh follows the rules while behind bars, I do not see how, legally, he could be required to serve the full 100% of his sentence. There is no doubt this would be appealed.
The detail that Josh is required to participate in a sex offender program is new to me here. My understanding was that you have to volunteer for such a program; I thought it was unlikely that Josh would ever go willingly. But there you are: mandatory.
Josh Duggar Transferred to Another Prison Amid 12-Year Sentence
Josh Duggar is moving penitentiaries after he received 151 months in a Fayetteville prison – find out more detailswww.usmagazine.com
According to documents obtained by Us, Duggar was transferred on Friday, June 24, at 4:08 a.m. CT. It could take up to a few days before they update his exact location.
Prior to his incarceration, Duggar filed an appeal with an Arkansas court to challenge his sentence.
After he is out:
.....Any device he owns will have to be approved and is subject to random searches via installed monitoring software.
......Moreover, Josh will have to submit himself plus his personal information to the U.S. probation office after his incarceration, participate in a sexual offender treatment program and is not allowed to possess or ingest marijuana. He is also “required to submit to periodic polygraph testing” — meaning lie detector testing — “at the discretion of the probation office as a means to ensure that he is in compliance with the requirements of his supervision or treatment program.”
Either that or the case didn't receive the same publicity as the Duggar case.
I find this interesting, this guy plead guilty, for basically the same crime. He got five years, and five years probation. I wonder if the difference was that he did acknowledge his crimes. And a police chief, no less.
Federal inmates serve 85% of their sentences unless it's a life sentence or less than one year sentence according to previous posts. Good behavior doesn't get them less than 85%. Maybe bad behavior could cause them to loose the 15% advantage. Anyway, it's interesting and I think worth researching further.I am not certain that sex offenders with child convictions are allowed time off for good behavior.
They are not if they are in a federal prison. They have to serve 85% of their sentence.I am not certain that sex offenders with child convictions are allowed time off for good behavior.
