In using that last sentence, Reed repeats #PatrickFrazee's own words to another person about Berreth a day before his arrest.

That's about the only thing the defense has been able to do for PF. I was shocked, like everyone else, that the defense didn't call any witnesses. But in thinking about it, I'm not sure what else they could have done. Shelia Frazee was not called by defense because she would've been cross-examined and subsequently run over by the prosecution. It's clear that whatever she would have to say (or not say by taking the 5th, invoking poor memory) would've hurt PF. Even IF there was any other person in PF's life to testify that he good character and would not do this, that opens the door for prosecution to discuss his character (at least that's how I think the rules work). The defense knew that if there was even one person who could get up there and talk nice about him, the prosecution could've lined up 25 to talk about what a hateful, scary, awful person and animal abuser he is. Not something the defense would've wanted on the jury's minds as they go in to deliberate.

And that evidence would be denied for being cumulative, the 25 I mean.

We just heard closing statements from the prosecution in the #KelseyBerreth murder case. A quick thought: they didn’t mention Krystal Lee as much as the evidence that corroborates her story. The defense is up next.

I was a little surprised DA May didn't handle the closing - but it sounds like she did a great job and since the jury is 7/5 (women/men) it could be a shrewd move IMO
