Maybe they are what you could call a "conscientious jury"

Even if they all agreed to Guilty, they may believe they should go over everything and be very, very certain. I told someone I followed one case where a 'conscientious jury' all in agreement as to Guilt took 4 hours. IMOO

Has SF attended court every day of the trial? Or rather, has she been sitting in an empty hallway every day?

Has she been by herself or did she have anyone to sit with her?

I really like snickering at the image in my head- her sitting alone at the end of a hard, wooden bench in a cold, empty hallway, with no one to talk to except for exchanging glances from the sheriff deputy guarding the door. She pretends to read a book, only to crane her neck whenever the courtroom doors open when reporters dash past her during breaks, straining to hear any new news...
