Kidnapping Charges

Still watching the circus which is the accused social media pages. It's the oddest thing. They will post something one day which completely contradicts what they've either written/said/said in interview etc from weeks or months before. And every little thing they say or do is scrutinized on various other social media pages. One day, SM had a relationship with HE. The next he was paying her for sex. The next post will say trading starbucks for sex. Then it will be back to they had a relationship but not a "serious" one where she told him all sorts of secrets about her family life. It's like...geeez people, pick a story(lie) and go with it already.

I saw one where the MRS was addressing Heather like she was alive & reading it and called her 'honey'.:ohwow: Made my blood run cold.

I seen on the one page that Sid called his wife innocent and intelligent. Actually, that is the second time that he said she was innocent. Funny how he never said that until lately. But then again, it was probably Tam doing the writing on his page again.

The other day I ventured onto a FB page relating to the case. I don't normally but I did and something caught my eye - someone pointed out that, like any other normal 20 year old, texting is a big part of life. After the phone call to BW at 1:44am, do we really think that was it until she arrived at PTL at 3:40ish? There has to be texts back and forth between the two and probably the reason LE is so adamant about HE driving herself to PTL. So, anyway I was just watching the Crime Watch Daily Part 2 (at around the 2:00 min mark) and Bri does mention that she's been accused of making up the texts between her and HE.

"We're fairly comfortable that she drove there herself," Rhodes said. Investigators also believe Elvis made it to the boat landing, but investigators would not elaborate about why Elvis drove to the boat landing or what may have happened when she arrived. "Everything indicates that she drove there," said Lt. Chip Squires, the task force leader. http://www.myhorrynews.com/news/cri...cle_ada6ad1c-8f77-11e3-8ca7-001a4bcf6878.html

I know that it wasn't brought out at pretrial or the bond hearing but couldn't they be saving possible texts as reserve warfare?

**Sorry this should be in the evidence thread.

In the news story you posted, LE claims that all Heather's texting abruptly stopped at two a.m. This is the first time I heard this mentioned. Must have missed it when it was originally published. This is so much earlier than I expected it to be.

BBM

Social media posts, not texting.

Rhodes noted that Elvis’ social media posts seemed to abruptly cease shortly after 2 a.m. Dec. 18.

If Heather drove herself to PTL around 3:39AM and CCTV captured a truck going to and from the landing around the same time, then why would Heather and the M(s) be "exchanging communications" between 2 and 6AM according to LE? Especially, after she was allegedly kidnapped?

They did say Elvis and Moorer exchanged communications between 2 and 6 a.m., mostly through private messaging, but investigators wouldn’t say what those discussions entailed either.

Early in the investigation it was 6 a.m., but it has since been confirmed that all data and signals on HE's phone ended at 3:41 a.m.:

1:53 – 2:09 am – 10 posts are made to HE’s Tumblr account Ten posts

3:41 am – All data and GPS signals ended on Heather's phone

Watched the latest Crime Watch...they made SM look like a guilty lunatic and TM look like a jealous hag. Actually, the Moorers make themselves look that way, CW just reported it.

Hope these issues don't hurt the case against the M's. A corrupt system does not make them any less guilty of disappearing Heather. However this is an unfortunate distraction.

http://www.myrtlebeachsc.com/corruption-myrtle-beach-continues/

Myrtle Beach is rated as the number one most politically corrupt city in South Carolina.
SLED, (State Law Enforcement Division), can be best described as South Carolina’s FBI. SLED is currently investigating the Horry County Police, Horry County Council and the Myrtle Beach City police.

Well in this case there won't be any DNA results that could have been tampered with (remember the DNA in Heather's car matched Heather herself)

There are no eye witnesses who will testify to seeing a crime occur.

The video evidence is what it is and ditto phone pings and cell tower info

The messages sent from various people are what they are and that too can be forensically verified

You've got SM on video at the payphone

Really, I don't see where any corruption could have taken place in this particular case.

Where can I watch the latest crime watch? I found an earlier one on YouTube, but haven't seen the one from yesterday.

Thanks :)

I don't think it's out there yet. I went to Crime Watch's website and they have the other 2 segments that aired at the same time on there but not the new Heather one.

If everyone emails crimewatch and asks them to post it...they might consider it?

BBM Correct @JerseyGirl. I should have posted the date of that MHN article - 2/6/14.

What I was getting at was LE originally stating they exchanged communications between 2 and 6 a.m., mostly through private messaging, but investigators wouldn’t say what those discussions entailed either.

Was just wondering how that particular bit of information suddenly become wrong?

Media reports can be (and many times are) incorrect on some details. The reporter hears one thing and interprets it slightly differently than the actual meaning. It happens all the time with the crime writer of my local newspaper. People write in to correct her on various cases, she makes so many mistakes. If LE isn't talking directly to you, and you're getting the info from another party (like a journalist), then take the details with a slight grain of salt.

From timeline... still says 6am!

Heather phoned her roommate - who was home on Christmas vacation - to talk about the date. According to the police report, Heather received and made a handful of phone calls. Her cell phone activity ended around 6 a.m.

From original police report:

TE stated that he contacted his cellular provider (T-Mobile), who provided him with call history for the victim's phone and he advised me that the last phone calls were at approximately 6AM on December 18th

1/22/14

Horry County police records are focusing on telephone activity that occurred as late as 6 a.m. Dec. 18 between Heather Elvis’ cell phone and a man with whom she had a relationship history, according to documents obtained by the Carolina Forest Chronicle.

3/17/14 - First Bond Hearing

At 3:38 a.m., Elvis tried to call Sidney Moorer three more times, Elder continued. All phone data ended for Heather Elvis’ cell phone at 3:41 a.m.

The original missing persons police report from Dec. 19, 2013 said Terry Elvis showed police T-Mobile phone records indicating phone activity between Heather Elvis and Sidney Moorer as late as 6 a.m. Dec. 18. Lt. Robert Kegler, spokesman for Horry County police, said Tuesday afternoon that 3:41 a.m. is now the time police say when all phone data ended.

“The information [Donna Elder] gave is the information that I can give out,” Kegler said. “The original police report is just that. That’s what was known at the time. Other things have come out since then, which was said yesterday in court.”

Solicitor Jimmy Richardson agreed, saying the 6 a.m. time was a “roundabout figure.”

“That was just a really preliminary report that was sent out,” Richardson said. “We believe that by 6 a.m., Heather Elvis was already in harm’s way.”

Sooooo...

  • The phone records that TE got from T-Mobile are incorrect?
  • The News Media interpreted a printed police document slightly different? :waitasec:
  • Other things have come out [changed] since then, according to Lt. Kegler. – How do phone records change over time???
  • 6am is a "roundabout figure" according to Richardson. – What kind of wishy-washy statement is that in a murder investigation?

There will no doubt about the correct times when these records are presented at trial. My question remains, how would these times change all of a sudden?
